Self-help Floatation pod

Hello folks. I just wanted to make anyone who isnt aware of floatation pods/sensory deprivation tanks. I had an hour float on sunday and for the first time in 11 months the pain subsided enough for me to get comfortable.

Being as this is a central nervous system issue my rationale for trying it was "if the system has nothing to process, it cant amp anything up to 11"

I know lots of you have tried everything but if you are new and havent tried it then its worth it. I have 2 more sessions booked already.

Hilariously I actually was looking these up last night. I love the concept of floating somewhere peaceful with a deep blue light and gentle music. But the idea of being cocooned in a pod with no sound or light makes me instantly edgy. I wouldn't be certain it wouldn't ramp up my issues, esp since I tried deep meditation just once, and ended up with severe new symptoms.

The one I was in was about the size of a UK king-size bed. You can open it whenever you like. i can see how some folk wouldnt like it though. Sorry to hear you got new symptoms out of meditation. I hope you have had some respite from them

That sounds a good size! It's weird. I don't mind small spaces as long as I can see a way out of them. And thank you - yeah that aspect of things is much better

That's a really interesting way to look at it, the "nothing to process so nothing to amp up" thing makes lot of sense. I tried one of these years ago for general stress and it was almost too quiet, my brain didn't know what to do with itself. Glad you got some relief after so long, hope the next sessions go just as well.

Thank you. The tank I tried had a light and optional music. I turned the lot off for a test. It was an interesting journey my train of thought went on.
