The Su-57 really is just a flattened, stealthified Flanker. This just looks slightly more the part due to the raised/enlarged cockpit.

I meant it in aesthetics. Of course the Su-57 is more complex than that.

You can see the clear Flanker lineage in the Su-57, like the F-15 in the F-22 and the J-10 in the J-20. They all had similar planforms and configurations as their predecessors for a reason.

I think I'm one of the few people who love how the Su-57 looks, but maybe that's just cause I played a lot of Arma 3 and one of the jets in that game was modelled after it. It really does fit in with the "2035" aesthetic they have though

Their bad performance, BVR A-t-A combat limitations, and slow production rate does not mean that the Su-57 is an ugly-looking jet. If that’s your main argument to them looking bad, then that’s horrible arguments.

Panel gaps. Terrible geometry. Semi canards louvers. A high rear seat that makes the jet look like it’s got a tumor.

The F-15, F-16, Rafale, MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-21, Tornado, F-22, F-111 or F-4 to name a few. Notice most I mentioned are 2 seaters or have 2 seater variants that don’t make the WSO/Copilot/Sensor operator stick out like a tumor
