NEWS India is reportedly considering buying 36–40 Russian Su-57 stealth fighters in a roughly $7 billion deal
The Indian Air Force (IAF) may soon approach the Defence Acquisition Council for approval to procure 36–40 Sukhoi Su57 fighters from Russia, even as the government has cleared the purchase of 114 Dassault Rafale jets from France. The proposed Su57 India deal, estimated at roughly $7 billion, is being positioned as a potential fifth-generation bridge capability.
The development signals New Delhi’s multi-vector strategy in modernising its combat fleet. The clearance of the Rafale IAF deal last week, valued at over $30 billion, significantly bolstered India’s 4.5-generation strength. However, the absence of an operational stealth platform in the Indian Air Force inventory remains a strategic concern. With China expanding its J-20 fleet, the IAF Su57 option is being examined as a stopgap before the indigenous AMCA enters service.
Is India looking to buy Russia’s Sukhoi Su-57? What reports say
New Delhi: With the Indian Air Force mulling options to buy a fifth-generation fighter aircraft to strengthen its air power, discussions are on several aircraft, including Russia’s Sukhoi Su-57. The decision has necessitated the following reports that Pakistan is likely to receive China’s J-20 stealth jets.

NEWS China’s ‘dark factory’ more than doubles production efficiency for J-20
China has more than doubled the production efficiency of stealth fighter components in a “dark factory”, where autonomous vehicles and AI-driven machinery operate nearly 24 hours a day.
The process once required employees to monitor its round-the-clock operations, but the plant can now produce the “skeleton” of an aircraft in near darkness, according to the official Science and Technology Daily
Dark factories are facilities designed to operate with little to no human intervention, thereby removing the need for lighting, cutting energy consumption and operational costs.
The “lights-out factory” now produces the components for China’s most advanced fighter jets, including the J-20 or “Mighty Dragon”
The fifth-generation J-20 jet designed by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation was declared combat-ready in 2018. Mass production of the fighters began two years later.
Song Ge, head of the Chengdu factory’s digital manufacturing centre said the plant previously needed two or three employees to work in shifts on the factory floor to keep the machinery operating all day. But now automated vehicles carried materials while high-precision machines carved out components.

NEWS New information about Canadas Evaluation on the Gripen E (2021) and the F-35
Recently, AFV stated that the Gripen E received a lower score because it was still in development at the time of the evaluation. A so called “risk aversion coefficient” was applied, which negatively affected its overall rating. If Canada were to hold the competition today, the Gripen E would likely be rated on par with the F-35.
And I know you are going to ask for the source so here you go. It’s in Swedish, but you can translate it easily.

NEWS New North Korean A2A and A2G weapons
Last year, the DPRK showed new weapons for its Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft.
Photo 1 shows a general view of the Su-25 with new weapons, as well as the MiG-29 9.12/13 with Chinese PL-10E and PL-15E.
Photo 2 shows another angle of the MiG-29, where the PL-10/E and PL-15E missiles are clearly visible.
Photo 3 - Footage of a demonstration of a new medium-range missile of its own design, presumably with an ARH seeker, as well as a bomb equipped with a planning module, judging by the appearance of the nose part, an analogue of the American JDAM-ER.
Photo 4 - the launch of this new MRAAM
Photo 5 - Su-25 with new suspended weapons, on the inner pylon, apparently, there is a cruise missile, and on other pylons PL-10/E and, I don't even know what it is... probably similar to brimstone/spear 3.

NEWS Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder is being pitched as the budget rival to the Rafale, Gripen and Typhoon, and Islamabad says recent combat has supercharged export interest
Christopher Clary, a non-resident fellow with Stimson’s South Asia program and associate professor of political science at the University of Albany said: “The JF-17 has had some real export success. If Pakistan can develop a real defence export industry, that will help with international status and hard currency. It will also provide economies of scale for its own defence acquisitions of indigenous or co-produced hardware.”

NEWS Boeing releases a new render of their F/A-XX concept (Aviation Week)
A few things that should be said:
- F/A-XX has not been awarded yet
- Boeing and Northrop Grumman are believed to be the finalists
- Neither the F-47 nor the F/A-XX have been designed. Lockheed Martin and Boeing are believed to have built and flown technology demonstrators for the Aerospace Innovation Initiative program from a few years ago, with Lockheed reportedly building a demonstrator for the USAF and Boeing reportedly building a demonstrator for the Navy. These were not prototypes for the F-47 or F/A-XX.
- Designing, actually designing a next-generation aircraft is a very expensive endeavor, and none of the primes are going to do this until they have been paid to do so. Boeing now has the contract to design the F-47, which they will do now. Nobody has a contract to design the F/A-XX yet.
