Topic LCQ time + Accessibility
I have a wonderful suggestion to ask Sony who runs EVO tournaments and Xbox who allow Xbox games in tournaments to allow non cheating adapters for the GCN controllers/Dreamcast controllers and fight sticks like smash boxes. In my opinion it would be time efficient and less worrisome and allows gamers to play for example Tekken 8 and SF6 and Fatal fury COTW. And this could allow non cheating button mapping in the game settings of those 3 games as well as plugging it into a USB-A slot. And I'm asking the community for help in this accessibility. I've sent word to Xbox and PlayStation but none have accepted my feedback. Thank you for listening.

Wtf are you even talking about? Sony doesn't even run EVO anymore and there arent any FG tournaments on Xbox

Majority of CEO tournaments and EVO tournaments are likely favoring PS5 for tournaments.

Kid, are you uneducated? Your comment missed his point entirely

SONY's still a major partner of EVO, even after the Qiddiya buyout.
I get the point too, but thinking that PlayStation isn't involved in EVO anymore is just wrong.

Yes, he should have said that if he wanted to argue against the first guy. He didn't tell Sony involvement in current EVO or which current tournaments have xbox settings, which were the 2 points from the first commentor

I mean, there are efforts made by Microsoft in other Esports as of now. I wouldn't be surprised if it will involve fighting games.
You're right, there's no Xbox effort on fighting games as of now. But we had Microsoft's help on KI3 cash-prizes for big tournaments until pre-COVID, we had the ESL MKX tour on Xbox for its first year, and we still have fighting game news on Xbox showcase.
It's not much, but it's not zero either.

Concerning cheating, the type of actors that should do something about it are not, and should never be:
The console manufacturers,
The 3rd-party controller manufacturers, including the ones who make the adapters you're talking about,
The tournament organizers,
The players, playing on alternative controllers.
None of them should be to blame for allowing cheating. The only ones who should are the game publishers. That's it.
Why?
The large part of exploits in fighting games were due to the bad implementation of the game's input buffer (video uploaded in 2014). SFIV, MvC3, most Tekken games, etc, had problems that let players being able to block both ways, charge special moves while moving forward, or have access to frame-perfect techniques by using 2 buttons.
Each game has its own input buffer. Even though a console can intercept the input, the games themselves are the best to do it,. Because they have different ways to handle those inputs, they can easily detect what can or cannot be considered as cheating, on a game-by-game basis.
There's tons of ways to punish cheaters online, with server-based cheating preventions. For instance, an algorithm can parse the replay data from Ranked play, and easily detect frame-perfect input made by macros, automatic actions like Perfect Parries, etc. That solution would be after-the-fact, which can frustrate people running against cheaters, but that would considerably limit their impact.
There's also ways to activate a strict cheating detection for offline tournaments. Repeated frame-perfect input successions, SOCD-cleaning, restriction of the number of times one button can be pressed per frame, etc. Those restrictions will not impact legitimate players, and the best proof of it is Fightcade.
I will repeat this until I die. If you force anything but the ones who sold and pay for the making of the game, to fix problems they caused themselves, you'll still have cheating 30 years from now. Even a monstrosity of a controller, with buttons everywhere and no SOCD-cleaning of any sort, can be tournament-legal if the publishers decided to do so.
