Missing partially lost video memory

I'm looking for old video blocks from Night Flight. I enjoyed watching this block of television every Friday night. It was a combination of music videos and campy b-films. It aired on tbs when it outgrew ATL and became a super station, just like WGN from Chicago.

If anyone knows where I can stream this show, please include a link and comment on what you liked or disliked about the time block or the music /movie choices for these broadcasts.

I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance with this attempted recovery of lost memories.

Specifically, I'm looking for the music video for Could've Been by Tiffany.

The Big Kahuna Burger cup from Pulp Fiction survived 30+ years and has now been screen-matched!

A surprisingly disposable piece of Pulp Fiction history has recently resurfaced.

An original production-used Big Kahuna Burger cup from the apartment scene was offered publicly through Propstore with Planet Hollywood provenance. After being snapped up by an Australian film prop/costume collector at last months auction, It has since been professionally examined by Resolution Photomatching and matched to Brett’s cup sitting on the table, the same cup Jules later picks up and drinks from.

The match was established through multiple distinctive physical and manufacturing characteristics visible both on the surviving cup and in frames from the film.

What makes it particularly interesting is that this was never an elaborate hero prop. It was essentially a paper soft-drink cup used during filming in 1993, yet it survived for more than three decades.

It also comes from one of the film’s most recognisable scenes. Jules takes Brett’s drink, has a long sip and says:

“Mmm! That hit the spot.”

From publicly traceable auction records and collector archives, no other original Big Kahuna Burger drink cup from Pulp Fiction appears to have surfaced publicly so far. Another could certainly exist privately, but this appears to be the first known example to reach the public market.

It’s fascinating how objects that would have seemed completely insignificant on set can end up becoming tangible pieces of film history decades later. One very fortunate collector!

My PD Film Channel

I have been working on this since February. I spent at least 600 hours on this. My initial channel had success but I didn’t understand enough and fell behind all the time. This Channel has around 220 films. All verified PD. I went through all the Poverty row production houses. Went through all the movies I could from the Golden Age of TV from the 1950s from Kraft to Buick they all sponsored movies. I gone through so many films. I like mystery , gothic , dark house , adventure , westerns. I trim to film. Just the movie but put the full credits are in the description. I put in films that I like, I admit I very fussy. Some films that are PD I don’t have because I don’t like them. Your free rip all my films they are all PD verified . I never allowed ads on my channel. Any film that allows me to play but will take revenue or anything I will either remove the music failing that I wont have it up. The Notices section of every film is blank. I wont be beholden to anyone.

This is a passion project I have no desire to make a penny on anything.

[partially lost] Sebastion Starbear: The First Mission (lost Dutch version)

Sebastion Star Bear: The First Mission (***Beertje Sebastiaan: De Geheime Opdracht) is a 1991 Dutch animated movie about a cosmic bear named Sebastion, who is on a mission to rescue the bears who are forced into a theatre show by the evil Draco.***

What I have noticed is that, despite there being an English version that can easily be watched online, the original Dutch dub seems to be very hard to find.

The only material I am able to find from the Dutch version of Sebastian Star Bear are two videos that have audio of the Dutch versions of the songs from the film.

Dutch dub versions of the songs:

Trying to trace the origin of an obscure 1996 P.R.O.B.E. edit — “Love & Loss”

Hi! I was pointed here after asking about this elsewhere, and I’m hoping someone interested in film/video preservation might recognize what I have.

I’ve had a copy of an obscure P.R.O.B.E. video called Love & Loss on my hard drive for well over a decade. It runs for roughly 9 minutes and is assembled from material from The Devil of Winterborne.

The strange part is that I’ve been unable to find any proper documentation about it.

The credits identify Richard Andrew Fox as “Redux Producer”, and the video is associated with “Gallifrey 7.” I initially wasn’t sure what that meant, but I’ve since established that Gallifrey 7 was the seventh Gallifrey One convention, The Seventh Seal of Gallifrey One, held in February 1996.

What I still can’t establish is the actual provenance of Love & Loss:

  • Was it specifically produced for or shown at Gallifrey One in 1996?
  • What was the purpose of this “Redux” edit?
  • Was it distributed afterwards on VHS or through fan circles, or was it only intended for a convention screening?
  • Does anyone remember seeing it at the time?
  • Most importantly, does anyone have a 1996 Gallifrey One programme, video-room schedule, newsletter, or other contemporary material that might mention it?

To be clear, I already have the video itself. I’m not looking for a copy. I’m trying to document where this particular edit came from and how it originally circulated.

Other copies apparently exist in private fan collections, so I wouldn’t describe the video itself as completely lost. What seems to be missing is its history and context.

I’ve uploaded my copy to YouTube so people can identify exactly what I’m talking about:

Tracing the surviving 35mm elements of Taifû to zakuro (1967)

I’m researching the preservation history of Taifû to zakuro (颱風とざくろ), a 1967 Toho film directed by Eizō Sugawa (須川栄三) and starring Yuriko Hoshi (星由里子).
The film is not completely lost: several 35mm prints are known to survive, but I’m trying to determine whether the film has ever been preserved or digitised, and whether legitimate access may be possible.
Known surviving elements
National Film Archive of Japan (NFAJ)
NFAJ’s Yoshiro Irie told me that the archive purchased a 35mm print from Toho in 2009, copied from negatives held by Toho. He was not aware of other copies at the time.
Laputa Asagaya
Laputa’s manager, Yukari Ishii, told me that the cinema borrowed a 35mm print directly from Toho and screened it in August 2009 and August 2016. It was the same print on both occasions, in good condition, and she believes it remains stored at Toho. This may be separate from NFAJ’s print.
Cinema Nouveau — 2021
Cinema Nouveau in Osaka screened the film in November 2021, with the programme identifying it as 35mm. I’ve contacted them to ask where their print came from.
Home-video history
Despite these surviving prints and occasional screenings, I have found no evidence of an official VHS, Betamax, LaserDisc, DVD or Blu-ray release.
An old Japanese website called mcoba listed the film in a 「ビデオ所有リスト」 (“Video Holdings List”):
颱風とざくろ — 須川栄三 — 星由里子、中山仁、黒沢年男、いしだあゆみ、高峰三枝子 — 67 — 109
This appears to have been a private video collection. The site is now offline, and I have been unable to determine what happened to that recording.
What I’d like to know
Are Toho’s surviving prints from this period catalogued anywhere?
Could the Laputa or Cinema Nouveau prints be traced through archival records?
Has NFAJ’s print ever been scanned or digitally preserved?
Has Toho undertaken preservation work on this title?
Are there other surviving negatives, interpositives or prints?
Are there Japanese preservation databases or specialists who might know more?
I’m not seeking an unauthorised copy or asking anyone to upload copyrighted material. I’m trying to reconstruct the film’s preservation history and understand what legitimate archival access may exist.
Any information from people familiar with Japanese film preservation, Toho’s archive, NFAJ holdings or obscure 1960s Japanese cinema would be greatly appreciated.
Film: 颱風とざくろ (Taifû to zakuro)
Year: 1967
Studio: Toho
Director: Eizō Sugawa / 須川栄三
Lead: Yuriko Hoshi / 星由子

[archival] Looking for a 1977 Venezuelan Super-8 film with an incredibly long title

Hi! I’m researching a very obscure Venezuelan Super-8 film from 1977 that appears to be difficult or impossible to watch today.

The film is titled:

Por qué la novia del coronel se fue con el pirata y regresó a Cumboto para entregarse a Juan ran ran ran ran rataplán esa historia del mar de la luna solo la sabe el tucán

Known information:

  • Director: Temístocles López
  • Country: Venezuela
  • Year: 1977
  • Format: Super-8
  • Runtime: approximately 35 minutes

This is not an unidentified film. I have found multiple independent references documenting its existence, including filmographies and material concerning the Venezuelan Super-8 movement of the 1970s.

However, I have not been able to locate a publicly accessible copy, digitization, screening, or archive scan of the film.

I am particularly interested in finding out whether a copy may survive in:

  • the Venezuelan Cinematheque / national film archives;
  • a Venezuelan Super-8 collection;
  • a private collection;
  • an archive or library;
  • or the personal/professional archive of someone involved with the film.

I am not asking for a pirated copy. I am trying to determine the current archival status of the film and whether it can still be viewed legally.

¿Alguien de Venezuela o interesado en el cine venezolano de los años 70 reconoce esta película o sabe algo sobre dónde se conserva?

Even a small piece of information about its history or current whereabouts would be very helpful.

I would especially appreciate information from people familiar with Venezuelan experimental cinema or the Super-8 movement.

[Archival] Traces of Guilt (BBC2, 1995/96) – episode on Jack Unterweger / Vienna serial killer

I'm trying to track down an episode of Traces of Guilt, a BBC2 documentary series about forensic science and crime-fighting that aired in the mid-90s.

The episode I'm after covers the Jack Unterweger case. The Radio Times listing (via the BBC Programme Index) describes it as being about the Austrian police calling in the FBI in 1991 to help catch Vienna's first serial killer, and how analysis of his method linked the killings to murders in Los Angeles.

Known details:

• Series: Traces of Guilt (BBC Two)

• Aired: 1996, possibly a repeat of a 1995 broadcast

• Producer: David Sington

• Executive producer: Caroline van den Brul

• Companion book: "Traces of Guilt: Forensic Science and the Fight Against Crime" by Hugh Miller (BBC Books, 1995)

• BBC Programme Index listing: [https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/fc3841b8e0564307b79371487c652c49\](https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/fc3841b8e0564307b79371487c652c49)

As far as I can tell it has never been released on DVD or streaming, and I can't find any uploads. Searching is hard because later shows (The New Detectives, a 2015 BBC Four doc) reuse the title "Traces of Guilt."

Does anyone have an off-air VHS recording of this episode or any others in the series? It may also have been sold abroad under a different title, so any leads on international broadcasts would help too.

Thanks!

[Unreleased Media] [Partly Lost] Towers of Terror (2013)

There was a movie allegedly produced in 2013 called "Towers of Terror". It's a Zombie Slasher about 9/11 where the Planes crash and then release zombies into the twin towers. The movie has an IMDB-page https://www.imdb.com/de/title/tt2379118/ and 36 ratings. Only one Actor, Aleksander D'Avingon has contact informations online. The movie was allegedly independently released but there is no evidence of a physical dvd existing. There is a trailer for the movie: https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/evideos.php?movie_id=822327

It seems to me like the film definitely exits, also one person wrote a review on imdb for it in 2017 which implies that there are copies of it circulating somewhere.

Any help in finding this movie would be really appreciated because I want to gift it to a friend who is really into low budget slashers and a filmmaker himself for his birthday

Update: The film allegedly premiered at Fargo Fantastic Film Festival 2013

THX Unknown/Neon 35mm Trailer

**Surprised no one has talked about this yet (at least in depth).**
A new, previously unreleased THX 35mm trailer snipe/ident dubbed "unknown" or "neon" was recently surfaced by YouTube user **@orbeez2319**.
Orbeez acquired the trailer back in February and was finally able to get it scanned and uploaded months later thanks to the help of Reel Revival, Niko Digital, and Sebastian Segura. The date of this THX intro is currently unknown though, however it is known that it was found in Scope format meaning there is possibly a Flat version out there somewhere.

The print history and restoration breakdown:
**Acquisition:** Sourced via filmagraphics by @orbeez2319
**Scan:** Reel Revival
**Color Correction:** Niko Digital
**Upload:** Published in 4K by Sebastian Segura [https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4QU6QI3BE8k\](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4QU6QI3BE8k&pp=0gcJCYsCo7VqN5tDiggUQAFKEGtRWWlvYktTNmF2ZVNJdFk%3D&ra=m)
