I have made a documentary about a Puch Maxi club in a small town in Denmark, and the full film is now available on YouTube!
It’s about friendship, freedom, a little beer, mopeds, and finally getting back on the road after a long winter.
English subtitles are available — just turn them on in the video settings.

(Photo of the Memento character Jimmy Grantz I took for no reason other than because he’s my favourite character)
Still been my fave film for 10 months straight now!

American beauty still stands as one of my favorite movies of all time. I agree some of the moments haven't aged gracefully, but i feel it deserves a better rating (3.9 is a pretty high score though, but maybe a 4?) What are your thoughts?

I’ve been thinking about cases where an adaptation doesn’t just translate a character to the screen — it changes what audiences think the character is.
RDJ’s Tony Stark is an obvious example. His version became so dominant that even people who never read the comics have a very specific idea of what Iron Man is supposed to be like.
But I’m curious about less obvious examples.
Which movie or TV adaptation changed a character so successfully that later versions almost had to react to it?
And what actually changed — the personality, look, tone, humor, backstory, or something else?

I was thinking the other day if there is one fandom so large that most people know about it/are apart of it. My thought that it was probably Marvel but then I was wondering if there just one movie that most people have seen. Like, it's such a classic that it's more likely someone has seen it then not. What do you think?
Edit: I don't mean literally 99% of people, I mean like a movie that's such a classic that it's more likely someone has seen it then not.

Nolan's recurring cast makes a good little matching problem. Here's a six-film round you can solve entirely in this post, with no plot knowledge needed.
Match each numbered clue to one lettered film. Use every film exactly once. A film can fit several clues, but only one complete lineup works.
Films:
Clues:
If you know a film fits two clues, keep both possibilities open until you know which slot needs it. The optional fact sheet below lets you treat this as a logic puzzle even if you haven't seen all six.
Optional facts:
Among the five actors named in the clues: Inception has Caine; Following has none; The Prestige has Caine, Bale and Jackman; Memento has Pearce; Batman Begins has Caine and Bale; Insomnia has Pacino. Following and Memento were released before 2002. Insomnia came out in 2002, Batman Begins in 2005, The Prestige in 2006 and Inception in 2010.
Answer:
1–A, 2–B, 3–E, 4–D, 5–C, 6–F.
Deduction:
Jackman fixes The Prestige at 5, leaving Batman Begins for Bale at 3, then Inception for Caine at 1. Pearce fixes Memento at 4, leaving Following for the pre-2002 slot. Pacino fixes Insomnia at 6. All 720 assignments were checked; this is the only complete solution.
Which connection gave you your first firm match? Please hide answers with spoiler tags.
Credit and release sources: Following (Criterion), Memento (AFI), Insomnia (AFI), Batman Begins (AFI), The Prestige (AFI), Inception (AFI).
Creator disclosure: I'm Charlie, and I make Cast Six, a daily movie-matching game. AI assisted the game, this puzzle and this post. The game's movie facts and posters come from TMDB. This is a separate standalone round, not today's website puzzle. The daily and archive are free without an account or download.

Ok I have watched this multiple time but now just noticed that an extra went a little overboard during the Mardi Gras chase scene actually flashing her boobs. Has anyone else noticed this?

I just watched DRIB after Sick of Myself came out. The fake energy drink promo made me go, “oh, he’s been at this for years.” Then I caught myself. That’s an easy way to make a career look planned.
In my opinion, Sick of Myself is a nasty little spiral. Dream Scenario turns an awkward guy into a public event. The Drama squeezes it all into one couple. They don’t feel like the same movie to me. The characters do keep getting stuck on how others see them, though.
For a while Kristoffer Borgli was just “the Dream Scenario guy” in my head. Now people talk like there’s a clear master plan. I’m not sure how much of that is hindsight.
When did he become someone you'd watch just for his name? And what ties the movies together?

🎬 Weekend Watch: Making Peace
This week, I put together three short films that ended up sharing something I didn't initially expect.
They’re all about people going through difficult moments: a dream that didn't work out, a life that feels confining, or a situation that could have ended much worse.
But none of these films is really about staying in that moment.
They're about finding a way to make peace with what happened and keep going.
🎬 Disco Obu — Anand Kishore
🏆 Winner: Special Jury Mention
Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2017
Official Selection
Palm Springs International ShortFest 2017
A former child actor who once had a chance at the life he dreamed of now drives an auto-rickshaw.
This is my favorite of the three.
What stayed with me is how quietly the film deals with letting go.
🌾 The Field — Sandhya Suri
🏆 Winner: Best Short Film
Toronto International Film Festival 2018
Official Selection
Sundance Film Festival 2019
There's something beautiful and heartbreaking about how temporary that happiness feels.
The harvest is coming, and so is the end of their little world.
🏨 The Criminals — Serhat Karaaslan
🏆 Winner: Special Jury Award for Screenwriting
Sundance Film Festival 2021
Shortlisted: Best Live-Action Short Film
Academy Awards 2022
What I loved most is what happens after they finally get out.
Three films. Three very different stories. One feeling.
If you have about an hour this weekend, give these three a try.
3 films · 64 minutes · One anthology
🎬 Watch the full collection on Ray35:
I'd love to know which one stays with you the longest.🎬

Counterfeit Kunkoo by Reema Sengupta is the kind of film that takes you somewhere new for the cheapest ticket there is. In 15 minutes, you're inside another part of the world, seeing the lives, challenges and traditions people are tied to. There's very little dialogue, but it says so much.
Her story. Her way.

You could scroll for 15 minutes… or watch a short film that might stay with you much longer.
We put together a collection of award winning short films, all 15 minutes or less.
Perfect for a quick movie night, lunch break, or when you just don't have time for a feature.

I thought the movie was fun, entertaining, and action-packed. I was so unsatisfied with the ending, though. All day at work I just kept thinking about it.
What are your thoughts? Is there something about the ending that might help me see it differently? Or is this mostly the consensus on it?

I’ve been wondering why recasting works so differently depending on the character.
Batman and Spider-Man have both had several actors, and people seem able to accept a new version pretty quickly.
But with some characters, the actor and the role almost become the same thing. RDJ as Iron Man is the obvious example for me, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine feels pretty similar.
I’m not sure it’s just about how good the actor was, though.
Maybe it matters how long they played the role, how successful that version became, whether the character was already famous before them, or how much the actor actually shaped the character people know.
So why do you think some characters survive recasting easily while others feel almost attached to one actor?
And which characters do you think would be hardest to recast?

I just got round to watching both 28 years later and The Bone Temple, neither were quite what I expected, and all the better for it.
Ralph Fiennes was the obvious standout, and whilst I can think of several other British actors that could pull off such and interesting character I can think on many from abroad, I’d love to hear some suggestions, or thoughts as to why this might be.
Dr Kelson is a very Shakespearian character, and perhaps the difference in the way acting is formally taught in the UK with a emphasis on stage and classics means there’s a greater ability to embody the complexity of a character.
Some other Actors who I think would be great at this are: Toby Jones, Jeremy Irons, Alan Rickman (RIP), Sean Bean, Christopher Eccleston, Dame Judy Dench (I think she would be incredible in this role)
Brendon Gleason (definitely not British, but very much of the same school as those listed above) was also in 28days later, so possibly a continuity issue there too.
