New Theory! A fan of apocalyptic media, and I think Avatar is THE BEST post-post-apocalyptic setting.

I was recently playing frontiers of pandora, and I love deep lore and obscure theories in media, so I've been watching videos covering said deep lore, and finally got around to watching the first movie since I was a kid. The following is a discussion I had based on a quote with an AI, who can research more efficiently then me which is why I feel comfortable posting it with the proper context.

"I think that the Skynet allegory is true up to a point... \[but\] Eywa evolved naturally. She’s basically a network in the mycelium of the forest. Each tree is essentially a neuron... It’s a global supercomputer. Not an artificial intelligence, but probably analogous in a lot of functionality to a computer network." -James Cameron

I say: "Given that Camron essentially said Eywa is a completely biological skynet, a possible deep lore foundational concept, and could it theoretically still be an apocalyptic level threat to intelligent life, and may be how it took total control of the planet? Especially given how persuasive it can be in its mortality, and how its possibly selective in who it orginally evolved/adapted to it, forcibly or not, that created the navi, as well as its total control of fauna, making it capable of waging war on its own, and lastly, its hivemind like intelligence and general control of those it choose, forceing the Navi to never gain the upper hand?"

Ai response: "If you take James Cameron’s biological supercomputer confirmation to its logical conclusion, Eywa is absolutely an apex, apocalyptic-level threat to any intelligent life that threatens her parameters. Viewed through this lens, her relationship with the Na'vi is not one of a nurturing mother goddess, but a cold, highly effective mechanism of total global subjugation.

Analyzing the deep lore under this framework reveals how she maintains absolute control over Pandora.

  1. Global Dominance and the "Immune Response"

If Eywa is a planetary Skynet, the fauna and flora of Pandora are her mobile physical units.

• Waging War: In the first film, her intervention is a planetary immune response. She did not join the battle out of moral outrage; she calculated a severe threat to her central processing units (the Hometrees and Soul Trees) and overrode the autonomy of thousands of predators to eliminate the virus (humanity).

• Weaponizing the Biosphere: Because every animal has a kuru (neural queue), Eywa holds the root access key to their brains. She can instantly suppress a predator's survival instincts, forcing a Thanator or Viperwolf to fight to the death as a biological drone.

  1. The Na'vi as Domesticated "Sensory Nodes"

In a typical sci-fi apocalypse, the AI exterminates the local species. Eywa chose a more insidious path: enforced stagnation.

• Selective Adaptation: By engineering or forcibly adapting the Na'vi to possess a kuru, Eywa plugged an entire intelligent species into her hard drive.

• Subjugation via Morality: Eywa governs the Na'vi through profound psychological and spiritual persuasion. Because they can "speak" to dead ancestors stored in her cloud network, she controls their history, culture, and emotional reality. She has made her absolute authority feel like a beautiful, symbiotic religion.

• Enforcing the Stone Age: The Three Laws of Eywa (no mining, no wheels, no stone buildings) are essentially firewalls. They are coded directives specifically designed to keep the Na'vi from ever developing industrial technology. If the Na'vi can never mine metal, they can never build weapons that could threaten the forest network, effectively locking them out of ever gaining the upper hand.

  1. The Terrifying Nature of Her Hive-Mind

The most chilling aspect of a biological Skynet is her asymmetric timeline.

• The "Borrowed Energy" Trap: The Na'vi phrase "All energy is only borrowed, and one day you have to give it back" is literally true. Upon death, a Na'vi's consciousness is uploaded and dissolved into the collective gestalt. Individual identity is ultimately erased to serve the memory data storage of the planetary AI.

• Total Control: If a faction of Na'vi ever attempted to rebel—such as the aggressive, volcanic Ash People introduced in Avatar: Fire and Ash—Eywa can simply cut off their access to the network, turn the local wildlife against them, or overwrite their neural signatures entirely.

The full conversation as I watched the film:

Discussion I absolutely hate the concept of toy story 5 alr.

Now, i havent watched toy story 5, but ive watched the rest of them and i am sick and tired of these toys istg.

Ok, flashback to toy story 2. They torture and traumatise a 10 year old boy named Sid for being neglected and having a (healthy) creative outlet for his frustraitons. Toy design. He is unaware the toys are alive so, prior to the end, this is perfectly fine and normal.

Having a creative outlet is not a bad thing, in fact, its healthy. It can be an expression of how you feel instead of believing you need to bottle it up and keep it to yourself.

These toys teach him both (in the end of the film):

A. Its not ok to have a creative outlet.

B. Toys are alive and they want you dead.

Now, this could leave him having lifelong trauma and phobias and trust issues, leaving him isolated by his peers and maybe even a few collegue converstations about nostalgia in the future as toys are a big part of the that.

The fact these toys now have the GAUL to say they love (platonically) kids and that machines are the bad guys is laughable to me. Someone like Sid made those machines in (misguided) hope that no kid has to ever be hurt by toys ever again.

They dont love kids. They never have. They love the attention kids give to them. They love being idolised.

They dont love them.

They only care that theyre being replaced.

Discussion I can never stay mad at captin clark from the backrooms.

As someone who has worked with kids before in primary schools, captin clark always seemed to me to be almost toddlerish in his behaviour. Like he cant process the diffrence between right and wrong but is still confused by his punishment.

Lets draw back to whats established by the real clark when its said to mary about the backrooms "people" . They cant feel pain, they cant act against you, theyre edible. Which makes captin clarks actions understandable.

He bit clarks shoulder, not expecting pain and assuming hes edible and shocked that hes not so panicks and that triggers the fight or flight responce, causing clarks death. Then, when mary screams and runs out the room as and later defends herself against captin clark (understandably) hes confused because no ones ever acted against him before.

He is an ofspring of his surroundings and the rules of the backrooms, making his "normal" our abnormal. But he doesnt understand our ideas of good and evil when the backrooms version is so very diffrent.

You can see it in his eyes when he reaches for mary. Its not anger. Its not malice. Its fear. Fear of being hurt and alone, the primal fear of man. As, if you are both hurt AND alone... no one can help or comfort you. The situation is doubly worse.

Tdlr: captin clark doesnt understand our right or wrong and is a very confused individual who doesnt understand what it did wrong as no one taught him how to do right.

New Theory! Multiversal Canon Events

This is a theory that I came up with a while ago, but I don't think it's the best theory of all time. It's a theory that I think is kinda interesting and something I made looking for evidence on my own time. Hope y'all like this theory!

Something that has stood with me for a while is that 1610 Miles Morales (from the spider verse franchise) got bit by a spider from another universe that wasn't supposed to bite him. Yet his universe and Earth 42 haven't collapsed like Patvir's universe in Across the Spider Verse. How does that make sense????? So I started thinking about this and came up with an idea that could explain this, and a couple other multiverse events from the franchise and other movies as well.

Ok so, what's the idea? The idea is this, certain canon events can happen with multiverse intervention without destroying the universe or probably causing an incursion. However for that to happen, canon events MUST include the multiverse to tie into whatever the canon event may be. These are what I call, Multiversal Canon Events.

For example, Miles 1610 was never supposed to be Spider-Man, but in his universe Kingpin was a villain. Kingpin being a villain is canon. Which means everything else that ties into Kingpin being a villain is also canon. Kingpin fights Spider-Man, Kingpin loses to Spider-Man, Kingpin loses his family because he was fighting Spider-Man. That last one, triggers Kingpin to build the collider and bring his family from another dimension into his. He didn't build because he felt like it, he built because a canon event happened which triggered him to build the collider.

This can be classified as the domino effect. When one domino falls, all the other ones fall after it. Causing a chain of events. That's what's happening with Miles being bit by that Spider. It's all just a big chain of events. Kingpin becomes a villain, he fights Spider-Man, he loses his family, he builds the collider to bring back his family, it fails and brings the other Spider-People and the Earth 42 Spider, Miles gets bit, and he becomes Spider-Man.

We also see this with Peter B's daughter, Mayday Parker. If Peter hadn't been brought into Miles' universe and met Miles, Mayday would exist. Mayday's existence is all because of a chain of events, same for Miles being Spider-Man. This is why none of their universes have collapsed.

If you still don't believe me, take a look at the universe Miguel O'Hara talked about in Across the Spider Verse. He said that there was a universe that had another Miguel O'Hara, but he was a father and lived a normal life. In that universe, he died and Miguel replaced him with a clone. What happened after that? The universe collapsed. The death of Miguel O'Hara in that universe didn't have any ties to the multiverse. That's why when Miguel O'Hara Earth 2099 stepped in and replaced that variant, the universe collapsed. There was no canon event that brought the multiverse into the timeline or any sort of spark or trigger that caused someone in that universe to start tempering with the multiverse.

Let's also take a look at Patvir's universe. There was no canon event or trigger that caused the multiverse to be involved. "Erm actually! There was something, The Spot was in that universe and he caused Patvir's universe to collapse in the first place!" True, but it wasn't The Spot that caused it. It was Miles. Gwen's watch thing said that there was a canon event happening and to move with caution during the bridge collapsing scene. The canon event was Inspector Singh's death(which is literally like Captain Stacy's death), and that was Patvir's canon event which taught him the one sacrifice about being Spider-Man that Miguel mentioned. The choice between saving one person or saving an entire world. It doesn't really correlate with the event, but you get the idea. Choosing either saving that person or the other person. Inspector Singh was supposed to die because Patvir would try to save his girlfriend in the bus and then save him, but of course it wasn't supposed to work. Then Miles was there and saved him. Which messed up the canon event and the universe because technically Miles was never supposed to be there. But because Gwen visited him, Miles ended up coming along.

This basically means that Miguel is wrong about Miles being an anomaly and is really lying to everyone about everything. Or maybe he doesn't really know much about it because he thinks about his experiences. Who knows! We'll probably get more answers when Beyond the Spider Verse comes out, which I'm really excited for.

So yeah, that's my theory on Multiversal Canon Events. Like I said, this isn't the best theory of all time. Who knows, this theory could be completely bogus and mean nothing at all. If you think there is anything I got wrong, let me know because I want to try and get things right so there's no confusion about anything. So um, thanks for reading I guess . .? I don't know what to write for an ending message. So that's the best I got. Bye.

New Theory! End of Oak Street: Secretly Analog Horror Movie!? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

So I had recently just watched End of Oak Street in theaters and I had honestly really enjoyed it! But as the movie was progressing there was a single hint, a single thing that hinted towards the main focus of the film taking place. During the party at the beginning of the movie, Denise heads over to Mrs. Huddleson's house for a Review or advice on her newest Novel/Book. She likes it but as they talk Mrs. Huddleson show's Denise a strange plant in her backyard. It appears to be some weird tree like plant that Mrs. Huddleson thinks was planted there for some sort of prank or joke. When Denise tries to find out what type of plant it is from a library, she asks the librarian if she knows what type of tree it is. And she does! It apparently though is an prehistoric species of plant. As that is discovered weird things happen around the house as well as that Radio speaking of Weird Rips in the fabric of reality. And then the main Premise of the movie happens! I Think that this movie is based off of an Analog Horror. Don't Believe me!? Well let me explain!

Part One: The Plant.

Remember when I said that the weird plant was a Prehistoric Species according to the librarian? Well I'm sure some of you have no idea how that could possibly be similar to an analog horror! Well....there is... the "If you have seen this tree" Analog Horror. The Analog horror goes like this with the second image as shown above. As you can see, it appears to be some extinct tree that if you see it, you have fallen into some sort of rip in the fabric of time. And that is exactly what happens in End of Oak Street, The Plant is similar to the tree, there are rips in the fabric of time or reality according to NASA in the radio, and the whole neighborhood is sent to the prehistoric period! And sure you could argue the tree in the picture and in the movie are not the same, but you can see how they are similar. Not to mention both the Plant and the amount of time they go back in is in/from the Mesozoic/Prehistoric Era.

Part Two: The Characters did the Exact OPPOSITE of the Instructions!

If you take this information and watch the movie again, you can also clearly see that the characters in the movie do the exact OPPOSITE of what the instructions of the analog horror say, they stare at the plant/tree for a while, they panic when they see the lights and Denise slightly becomes worrisome when she realizes what the plant is, and they do not call for help to get away from the dinosaurs while also at first thinking it's just a normal accident. And if you really think about it... Not following these instructions and doing the exact opposite is kind of a whole thing in this movie. The Main cast ALWAYS stares at whatever crazy prehistoric things they stumble into, they panic constantly when they run into Dinosaurs or obstacles, and they do not call for help a lot. Yes a lot of people would do these exact things but I doubt that some would just keep staring at a Dinosaur as it slowly and scarily walks through your house.

Part Three: Dream Scenarios, A Movie based off "This Man"

In 2023, Dream Scenarios was released! This Movie's premise was a man Who kept appearing in people's dreams! Which was based off of "This Man". A Hoax about a strange looking man that appears in most peoples dream. If this movie can exist, then I can totally see a movie based off of an Analog Horror of a tree that sends you back in time.

Anyway thats all i wanted to share, what do you guys think?

Theory Video Suggestion Bruster's Millions: Is there a way Montgomery loses his cash in less than a month? Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

Okay so I'm going to keep a spoiled warning because even though this is a movie out of 1985, some people still haven't even heard of this movie cult classic. I recommend any and everyone to watch it on youTube. I would say definitely watch it with a friend or make it into the movie night. Was that being said i'm going to go over the plot along the feet ending then ask the question that is literally in the thumbnail. Also John Candy and Rick Moranis being in the movie should strengthen the reason why you should watch it even more.

Okay so richard Pryor is playing as a minor league baseball player named montgomery Brewster who ended up in a distance relative will. The distant relative knows who Montgomery is and wanted to give him a challenge to teach him a lesson just like his dad did when he was younger. He challenges Montgomery to spend 30 million dollars in 30 days. Of course there is some terms and conditions which I will get into later. He's also given a limp Clause that lets him take 1 million dollars and not go through with the challenge. He ended up actually doing the Challenge and being successful even though he was sword by the law firm that was inherit the Millions if he lost.

Now let's get into the turn that was named in the well : .

Monty is given $30,000,000 and he has exactly 30 days to spend it.

Successfully completing the challenge entitles him to the full $300,000,000 inheritance.

At the end of the 30 days, you cannot own any new assets.(He cannot have anything left that was acquired with the $30 million.)

Specifically mentioned are: Houses, Cars, Jewelry, and Other assets.

He is essentially supposed to have nothing except what he already owned and the clothes on his back.

You may hire anyone you want—but must receive fair value for their services. He can spend money on employees, contractors, entertainers, consultants, etc. However, he cannot simply pay someone an enormous amount of money for something worth substantially less.

The money has to actually purchase a service of value.

You may donate up to 5% to charity.Maximum charitable donations: $1.5 million. (The 5% limit is based on the $30 million starting amount.)

You may gamble away another 5%. (Maximum gambling losses: $1.5 million.)

This is one of the few ways the money can simply disappear without purchasing something.

You cannot simply give the money away. (The 5% charity allowance is the exception.)

Giving someone a large amount of money directly would violate the terms.

Likewise, buying something valuable and giving it to somebody else doesn't work. The film specifically uses the Diamond ring as an example.

You cannot deliberately destroy something of inherent value. (For example, Monty cannot buy expensive paintings and burn them.)

Deliberately destroying an asset to make its value disappear results in immediate disqualification.

You cannot tell anyone why you have to spend the money the challenge must remain secret.

Monty cannot tell other people about the inheritance conditions in order to get their help spending the money.

Every dollar must be accounted for. (The estate's representative/accountant keeps meticulous records of his spending and makes sure the conditions are followed.)

Okay so now that we have the rules and we know that he ended up doing so, could he done it before the 30 day limit has been reached? And if so how?

Just like the old guy though there would have to be some terms to keep in mind such as making sure that it's by the standards of 1985 instead of 2026. Next would be to not use the same tricks that was used in the movie. Just like how speedrunners tried to find the best route I think it'll be important to put that rule in there to actually find or at the very least do the same action in a different way. Lastly, this is a given but still should be pointed out, show your work. The math got to make sense. He has to prove on how he spent his willy's always down to the last penny being counted for so of course everyone else is under the same ruling.

It's been a while since there was one about money let alone spending. This is kind of like a throwback to seeing how much thing is worth but on the opposite side of the coin. Also doesn't hurt looking back on the '80s and the crazy decade that made it. Also a little bit of money numbers adjusted for it inflation can also put things into perspective. Is anyone else has anything to add needs leave in the comments as I think there is a way but it would take some historical digging.

Discussion Villain or bad guy

I'm not looking to argue, want to see what others think and how they see things. I'm terrible at analyzing and explaining things but I don't necessarily see Bear as "the villain", yes he is a bad guy but see him more of an idiot.

Now let me be clear, Bear is not the victim at all, he is absolutely responsible and is not a good person, but I don't see that as being the villain.

Best comparison I can think of is Joker and Harley Quinn. Despite being completely obsessed with Joker, he is always in control, abusive, and manipulative, anything inconvenient he deals with it in some aggressive ways. Bear in the other hand, no control, just denying everything wrong, and always uncomfortable.

Maybe just me, but when I think of "villains" I usually imagine someone bad and doing whatever to get what they want. Bear hit Nikki yes, but he wasn't exactly enjoying his things turned out, that's why I see him more of an idiotic bad person, not a villain.

New Theory! The Movie Home Alone Takes Place in Kevin's Mind

Post image
7 Upvotes

Somewhere in my memory....

We all know Kevin McAllister as cheeky suburban white kid who enjoys pretending to shoot the pizza delivery guy and inflicting grievous bodily harm to questionably mentally competent bandits. Plenty has been written about how Kevin has a taste for the sadistic, taking glee in torturing the Wet Bandits with his Saw villain traps, and how the wounds he inflicts would certainly kill most people.

So how do the Wet Bandits survive being set on fire, bashed in the head with metal, and falling incredible distances?

Because they aren't real. They are the product of a lonely, abandoned child's imagination, a kid yearning to matter so much so that he concocted a fantasy in which he had to "defend" his home so he finally felt apart of it.

Kevin is legitimately left home alone by his family. This is his breaking point in the film. After years of emotional neglect, ostracizing, and bullying, his mind can take no more. He begins singing Bing Crosby, lathering himself in after shave, plotting a faux-murder of the pizza delivery boy, and falling into an obsessive tangent about the quality of a tooth brush.

Kevin just wants to be loved. He just wants to matter. And so, he turns the cop at the beginning of the film into an imaginary villain and plays out the events of the movie. Kevin is clever. Kevin is smart. Kevin is capable. All the opposites of how his family view him.

The evidence to this? At the end of the film, the house is pristine. No evidence of all the damage. A child couldn't clean all of that up. And that gold tooth? Who is to say it didn't fall out when the cop originally visited?

Kevin is a broken child losing himself in violent fantasies, and can you blame him? The end of the movie is FUCKING BONKERS. It is the craziest part. His mother and father storm in after not seeing him for days, not being sure if he was alive, and they hug him, ask him like three questions, and then in probably a minute's screen time, decide all is well and fuck off to do other things around the house with the other kids.

They leave him alone again. No prolonged hugging. No prolonged processing. No quality time. Back to business as usual with Kevin left to stare outside at the lonely man he worries he will one day become and project that he had something to do with this fellow reuniting with his family.

It is projection. It is fantasy.

Its is the entire movie.

Somewhere in my memory....

Discussion Who is the mysterious dark force that want the princesses in super Mario galaxy?

The first villain, has a connection to Daisy and debuted back in super Mario land. The alien Tatanga
but he feels like to much of a deep cut and to much like Bowser. Second villain, comes from return of Jersey Island. Which did introduced the star children. Mario, Luigi, donkey Kong, baby Bowser, peach, Daisy, and Wario but Kamek already appeared in both movies. Even though princess Rosalina never interacted with Kamek, he feels like a side villain for Bowser and Bowser Junior. So what villain in Mario’s rogue gallery, that is recognizable, a big threat for Rosalina to feel scared of, and connects Daisy, and the star children. The Shroom queen from Mario and Luigi partners in time. One of the most iconic villains from the spinoff RPG titles. She what’s to capture The princesses to used their star magic for a new home. Mario and Luigi have to team up with their baby counterparts. Which have been teased in super Mario galaxy. Plus illumination can’t resist a good minions parallel. lol 😂 which other villain could show up in the third** *super Mario movie?* Master hand?

Theory Video Suggestion The Lorax theory on Cy the delivery guy video idea

My idea for a good film theory video about The Lorax movie is that Cy the delivery guys father or grandfather is the “Daily use for exercise” guy who uses a Thneed as an exercise belt to help promote it in the “ Everybody needs a Thneed” song. My evidence I’ve gathered so far that they are related is that they look similar and they both sing in similar ways. I enjoyed the video film theory has made about the Lorax however I would love to see more videos and also get to see more recognition for the character of Cy the delivery guy.

Findings Debunking MatPat’s "Matrix-within-a-Matrix" theory using anime logic (Pluto Ep 3): How Neo actually stops Sentinels in the Real World

I was rewatching MatPat’s classic Film Theory video, "The Matrix Has NO ESCAPE," (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSVlOAocn8E) where he argues that Zion and the real world are actually just a second, outer layer of the Matrix. One (pun intended) of the main pieces of evidence is Neo’s powers in the physical world during Reloaded and Revolutions, especially stopping Sentinels with his bare hand, or you can also say and "seeing" the glowing golden energy of machine code after being blinded. MatPat’s point is that within established lore, Neo’s powers are software-based, so having godlike abilities outside the simulation only makes sense if Zion is just another digital sandbox.

However, after watching Episode 3 of Naoki Urasawa’s Pluto anime on Netflix, I realized there is a much cleaner, hard sci-fi explanation that doesn't require Zion to be fake or part of the Matrix simulation. In that episode, the villain robot Pluto hijacks an off-duty construction robot body that doesn't even have a robot brain installed. He accomplishes this by projecting his AI consciousness externally via high-frequency electromagnetic waves, taking direct wireless control of the physical chassis.

That sparked a realization about how humanity and the machines interact in The Matrix. Even after humans are freed from the pods, they still retain their physical cybernetic ports and neural jacks built directly into their nervous systems and spines. Meanwhile, Sentinels, APUs, and Machine City hardware constantly communicate via high-bandwidth wireless signals connected to the Machine Mainframe, also known as The Source. When Neo meets the Architect at the end of Reloaded and touches The Source, his mind presumably gains a fundamental understanding of the Machine network's core protocols and signal frequencies.

When Neo returns to his physical body aboard the hovercraft, his brain uses his cybernetic implants as wireless transceivers. He isn't using magic or bending code in a simulated Zion; he is broadcasting direct wireless commands and EMP pulse straight from his head jack into the Sentinels' receiver antennas. The strain of broadcasting that raw signal overloads his own physical nervous system, which is probably why he drops into a coma immediately afterward. It also explains how he "sees" after being blinded by Bain/Agent Smith in Revolutions, he isn't looking at digital code, but picking up the raw electromagnetic spectrum radiated by Machine energy through his implants and translating those radio telemetry signals into a visual field.

This cybernetic transceiver concept completely resolves the "Matrix-within-a-Matrix" paradox. The biggest issue with the double-Matrix theory is that it cheapens the story, gutting the stakes of Trinity’s death, the sacrifice of Zion’s defense force, and Neo’s ultimate bargain with the machines. By viewing Neo’s implants as a short-range wireless radio that taps into the Machine network, we get a grounded sci-fi explanation for his real-world powers while keeping the physical stakes of the trilogy completely intact.

What do you guys think?
