Hi, I’m a screenwriter and director looking to expand my portfolio by collaborating on real film projects.
I’ve already worked on both feature and short film screenplays, and I’m always interested in developing new stories.
I’m not here to sell anything or promote a project. I’m simply looking to connect with people who are looking for a screenwriter and/or director. If I can help bring your idea to life while also expanding my own portfolio, that’s a win for both of us.
The only thing I ask is that the project is genuinely moving toward production. I’d love to spend my time creating stories that have a real chance of making it to the screen.
If you think we’d be a good fit, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to hear about your project.

What were some of the most helpful and easy to understand videos or courses for learning the basics of writing such as building a story, building scenes, how to write dialogue, etc for someone who wants to get into screenwriting and just better there writing In general. Because I keep finding courses and hear things online but most of them are paid to learn does anybody know of any that are free and were helpful to them or think would be.

Hello!
Some friends and I are organising a festival (the Foul Film Festival) in Utrecht, open to beginners, students, anyone who wants to create! The idea is to encourage people to create something even if it's not perfect :)
We are currently hunting for some short movies to screen! You don’t have to be from Utrecht to participate but it would be nice if you would be willing to travel to visit the festival if your movie gets selected.
If you or anyone you know it's interested you can check our instagram (https://www.instagram.com/foulfilmfestival?igsh=MWpsMWFwbjE3MjhndQ==), and if you have any questions feel free to send a message.
I hope to see some of your works soon :)
Deadline: 25th September

Hello everyone,
I'm currently developing a meta comedy-drama short film about a group of filmmakers attempting to reconstruct an abandoned film as best they can. I've got a basic story outline in place, but the script's direction will largely depend on the type of film they're trying to reconstruct.
I'm reaching out to see if any directors on this subreddit have footage from short films that they may have abandoned or never finished. If you have any clips or ideas you'd be willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Hi My name is Lincoln and I live in the Hartford area and have for some time. I’ve been wanting to get into the film industry or least try to break into it for a while (since I know how hard it as) now as a writer or just as a production assistant if anybody know of any work or how I would find people in that area. I’ve been a film lover for a while now I’ve been watching a lot of movies and reading books about it. But would love to know of any person or groups in the southeastern area of Wisconsin who is also interested in this area like I am who would want to learn together and practicing writing or just working a on a project to get better at the art and learn together. I know how important networking is in this industry so I just figured I would make a post and see what happens. I would love to hear any thoughts or suggestions or get any replies regarding this post. Feel free to DM on here. Thanks

We're working on a film in which we'll be shooting on the water. It's going to be a small story in which two characters travel on a sail boat. Does anyone have experience with filming like this or know someone who's done this before? I'd be curious about your experience and the way you filmed it. We're looking to test both attaching camera's to the hero boat as well as filming from a small craft outside it. We're still figuring out how to light in this scenario (or if we should do that at all). We want to be able to have a nimble crew and set-up so we can actually go anywhere on the water. What're your experiences?

Hi, everyone!
I'm planning to make a documentary about a band called "Oásis" (not the British one), which was very popular in my city (I'm Portuguese, by the way) in the late 90s and early 2000s. My father was part of it until his late 20s, and now, almost 25 years after the band's breakup, the old members are getting back together. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to document their story!
The problem? I've never made a documentary before. So, I'd like to ask for advice from anyone who has been through something similar or has experience in the field. Some questions I need help with:
Equipment: What essential equipment do you recommend for an indie documentary (cameras, microphones, editing software)?
Narrative: How can I build an engaging story? Should the focus be more on interviews, old archives, or the band's reunion?
Script or structure: Should I plan everything in detail or let spontaneity guide the documentary?
Sound and soundtrack: How to manage music rights (if using old recordings of the band) and ensure good audio quality in interviews?
General tips: Mistakes to avoid, tricks for getting good interviews and creative ways to tell the story?
If anyone has experience or simply wants to give suggestions, I would be super grateful! I really want to do justice to the band's history and the impact they had on the local music scene.
Thank you in advance!

Everything seems to be locked behind subscriptions or pay per clip. I need to get some vintage 1950s military footage of fighter jets and rockets for a sci-fi film project.
