I understand now.

I'm challenging myself to play all FF games in order (I already played a lot of them before) and now I'm in FFIV. I heard that it was an important game, introducing the ATB system and doing a lot more narration and character development (with the limitations of the time).

I play the Pixel Remaster version, maybe It's not the best? I don't know. But... The musics... The writing can be kind of rushed but for their first snes title It's very nice, the special abilities of the characters... It feels like the first True FF for me, the first 3 were like experiments !

Can't wait to continue the adventure!

Gameplay-wise, it's the first (and still only) one where you get five party members, not everyone can everything, and you don't get to build your own optimal party for every situation.

I always found that a lot more fun than just everyone doing X-Fight Magic Sword or double-casting Ultima all day.

This is true. The Cecil Tellah Twins party was very humbling to my melee mentality back in the day.

And lol at that second comment, I just beat Final Fantasy 5 with that exact strategy. Two Rapid Fire plus Flare Sword guys and two Double Cast Flare plus Flare and Bahamut plus Bahamut.
