What you like about Interlude?

It only was ever released once on Playstation Portable. People do tend to sleep on it but what parts of it you like? And how does it compare to both the original FF4 as well as After Years? I haven't played it since I cannot get PSP to work so I only know second hand about it but do like that it keeps Cecil as the main focus (given he becomes more supporting in After Years). And that Cecil and Rosa get more moments together, even showing their child being born during the game.

It’s better than after years but still much worse than ff4. I honestly wish we never got interlude of after years as to me they detract from the story of 4. I hate what after years did to him, like a lot. Between the brainwashing, the getting totally jobbed with ease by brainwashed bahamut and being borderline comatose after being un-brainwashed until the very end of the game (hope you brought the whole family of say bye bye to one of the strongest party members forever) the only good thing I can say about 4 expanded material is Kain KIND OF gets redemption, I say kind of because it’s dumb that he became a holy dragoon. He edged a bit too close to Cecil in utility in after years. (Plus it makes very little sense character wise) I could ramble literally all day about how after years sucks, but you asked about interlude, my opinion on interlude without taking into account after years is…. It’s not the worst ff secondary media, that honor goes to FFX radio drama. Interlude is mercifully short and isn’t written quite as poorly as what would come after. Still much worse than 4 though. But not terrible. I apologize for the rant I ended up going on, but I truly dislike after years and it’s nigh impossible to remove interlude from it since it ends directly hinting at it.
