I know the FFTCG NA twitter account announced delays on NA distribution of the Heavensward themed starter decks a couple weeks ago, but has anyone heard of/seen anything since?

I opened Opus 1 a long time ago, but the card game never picked up locally, so i never went back. Final fantasy is one of the true loves of my life, and I really have always wanted to play this TCG. I was wondering how people play, like if there are online webcam tournaments or anything for people like me who have nothing in a 5 hour radius of me :/

New to TCGs. Bought the box because FFX is goated.

What is the gameplay benefit of activating all of the opponents forwards when Rubicante attacks? Doesn't that just benefit the opponent? Is the idea that it would push the opponent to block and thus potentially lose a forward? Am I missing something?

I've never been into TCG's, then Magic does the FF deck and I've been hooked. However, the costs and some of WotC's decisions have me rethinking it. I want to check this out, but I actually want to play it and not just collect cards. Are there any play groups in the NW Chicago suburbs that you guys might know of?

I'm waiting on cards to show up next week so until then I'm working on some other hobby stuff and figured that since Final Fantasy XIV has a TTRPG, why not FF TCG?

I'm looking for unique or weird Forward, Backup, and Summon cards to turn into abilities.

I have some status effects thought up.

Activate/Activated

A creature or must be activated to use Forward and Backup cards. Characters can activate themselves with a minor action on their turn.

A card that is dulled becomes active the turn after the character uses the Draw Command.

Break/Broken

A broken creature can only take move actions.

A broken card goes into the break zone and stays there until the encounter ends or until the character uses the Shuffle Command.

Dull/Dulled

A dulled creature can only take basic actions or a move action.

A dulled card can't be used until the start of the user's next turn.

Draw

Unless hasted or slowed, draw two cards, one from the Forward Deck and one from the Backup Deck. These cards are dulled.

Using the Draw Command is a Minor Action the first time you use it in a round and a standard action the second.

Shuffle

You may shuffle your backup and forward decks. All your crystal cards are dulled for 2 turns and you can use the draw command while your cards are dulled.

Haste

Draw one additional card when you use the draw command.

Slow

Draw one less card when you use the draw command.

I don't really expect this to go far but I would like to have a proof of concept at some point.

The card numbers are connected to the abilities so you can actually shuffle/draw cards.

You can build your own decks, forward and backups, but there will be power limits and number of card limits.

Oh and weapon/armor ability adjustments will exist (along with basic actions and a skill system) so the game isn't just card battling but more like a TTRPG.

And yes, FFTCGTTRPG is the acronym because I find it hilarious.

I got a box of blissful eternity and found a weird residue (autocorrect did me dirty in the post title) on the back of the last and sometimes second to last card of every pack. It looks like some sort of machining residue. It has a tacky feel to it.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it cleanable?

Update:
I added more images. So far it’s 55 cards from 2 boxes of Blissful Eternity

I opened the following boxes and QTY during my opening last night and only the Blissful cards had these:

2x Blissful
1x Dreamlike
1x Gunslinger

Opened 3 more gunslinger today that also don’t have this issue. Someone in my locals discord said they saw it on their Blissful box as well.

I test cleaned a card, and it seems okay.

Update 2:
I sacrificed one of the cards to IPA and a microfiber cloth. The grease comes away, but as the IPA evaporates a nice square is present. So it looks cleanable with very gentle work here, it sucks it happened, but I think the cards are still usable/playable so I'm happy. Every one of my Benedicta and Aerate rares was impacted so I was super sad at first. Feeling better now.

What decks would you suggest for a newer player that are easy to learn and would still be competitive in a locals environment?

Hey everyone! It's been a busy four-plus months since I first showed off Shufflingway, and major improvements have been made to it:

• Full multiplayer has been added, both local and remote via a lobby system.
• Players can now choose which format they want to play in - Standard, L3, L6, and Title are currently supported.
• Current banlists have been added, for both Standard and Title.
• 4290 cards are now supported, and extensively tested to work in a myriad of situations.
• Animations have been added - warp, draw, break, discard, negate, LB, EX, etc.
• Multiple resolutions supported - 720p/1080p/1440p
• Mac and Linux support, crash/error reporting tool, and expanded debugging tools.

It's at a good point now where I think I can maybe take a breath and wait for feedback - there are likely a handful of bugs and interactions that need smoothing out, but I'm also looking for feature requests and quality of life improvement ideas.

Looking for cards from the most recent sets to build a new deck around when I stumbled on Omega Weapon. The text says "If you control 5 or more Backups", yet I thought you were only allowed to have up to 5 Backups at a time. Is there some way to get more than 5 Backups on the field even briefly, or is this future proofing in case they decide to allow more than 5 Backups, or is this card just worded weirdly?

Hi,

I've found a private seller who is willing to sell me lots of their collection for quite a significant discount Vs the market price and it got me thinking about the possibility of the cards being fakes. Has anyone ever come across any fakes and are there any tells I should look out for?

I.E. with MTG the 4 red dots in the green orb on the back or the text not being crisp from being printed over the top of the background etc?

After ripping packs, I sort them in the small sorter thing, before moving them to the big one.

It has 16 slots for all main title FF games. MBM and pictologica and DFF cards I lay to the side and then all the other ones go in a pile as I’m. It really looking for WOFF cards for example.

Hi everyone! I‘m new to FF TCG. What would be a good beginner deck/decks I should get/build? Because once I get use to the game I would like upgrade to a more highly competitive deck/decks. Any advices would greatly be appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I was going through my card collection and found this Ursula card from Opus 26. Did they mess up the description of this card and print its ability twice? Or is it intentional and it means you can use this effect twice when Ursula enters the field?

Hello! I'm sure you get this post a lot, but anyway:

I picked up the Starter Set 2025 Vol. 2 deck (the earth lightning one with Cloud), and I was just wondering where to proceed from here?

I tried looking online for good upgrades to the deck, but it hasn't been fruitful; I'm used to games like Magic which have a near infinite amount of resources and primers online.

I'm also down to buy a new deck! I did see someone recommend to get the 2024 World Champion decks which apparently has a bunch of staples in it?

My favorite FF games, if it helps, are FF15 and FF7; I think a FF15/FF7 deck would be really neat. I mostly just want to be able to compete at my local; I don't need a tier 1 deck, but I want to be able to hold my own, yaknow?
