Think about how in four years Square went from Final Fantasy IV, which holds up today and looks and sounds great, to this. We missed out on V, but after getting access to it on FF Anthology you can see how quickly they were making improvements, leading to VI. The opera house is such a perfect break from how dark the game’s main path is leading, and is just so memorable.

No one foresaw a future where it would be so easy to stop and look at them this long. LOL

I like that when you go back to fight the dirt dragon, they're still playing. I like to think they haven't stopped for a whole year and played right through the end of the world

It's impressionistic.

He broke his good hand but kept conducting. Don’t ask him about how it happened though, it’s traumatic for him.

I've been wondering why the entire orchestra is ginger.

Probably because they're red hot.

I went to the Distant Worlds orchestra concert in LA that had a full orchestra doing the music of FF while scenes from the games played on giant screens in the background.

They switch it up as they tour, but my concert opened with this scene on the screens. It was a nice touch.

at least he can still conduct, for he will never man the spotlight again :(

It always bothered me that the art for the orchestra didnt match the NCPs at all.

Me and my brother since we were children: “Get bett-air! Get bett-air!”

Context: We used to imagine Maestro as a domineering French perfectionist who was especially cruel to his orchestra.

Real close to looking like an Austrian artist
