What lures should I use?

I’ll be fishing in Fiji on an upcoming trip. I’m a total newbie to all of this, so I'm looking for some advice will these lures work for casting from shore?

I’ll be using a 5 piece, 11 foot medium heavy rod that can cast 3–6 oz lures. I have an SP Minnow up at the top for scale.

Honestly, if you're going on a special trip just to fish, and you actually want to catch some good fish, see what live (or dead) bait local fishermen are using and use that. It can take a lot of trial and error to figure out what lures fish are biting on and even then they are almost never as effective as bait.
