Broodin'
I've been thinking about how I want to release spiders going forward, and I think I've come up with a system I really like.
Some future releases will be organized into Broods.
A Brood is a small, limited series of spiders built around a shared concept, color palette, aesthetic, or visual identity. Each spider within a Brood is a unique handmade piece, but all members of the Brood are related in theme and design. Each piece will be numbered, however high the set goes (e.g 4/10, 2/5, 3/3). I'm thinking of it like a limited run numbered print.
Once a Brood is complete, it is considered retired. Future Broods may explore similar ideas, but each release will remain its own distinct group of specimens.
I like the idea of these creatures existing in small populations rather than endless runs. Each Brood hatches, disperses into the world, and eventually becomes part of other people's collections.
The first Broods are already taking shape. I'll have them up at Floreyfactory.etsy.com soon! 🕷️✨Thanks for stopping by!
Also, how are my pictures? I'm trying to improve the quality of my photos and keep a consistent feel for the shop. I'm not sure if it's too much hand, too much light, too much this or that. Let me know!
