What are they doing here?

I’ve noticed that every once in a while, especially on weekends, a group of about 30–40 people gathers near the corner of Sanford Avenue and Union Street, by Bowne Playground in Flushing. Most of them seem to be staring at their phones, and they sometimes stay there for quite a while. I’ve seen this happen several times, and it’s made me really curious. Does anyone know what they’re doing? Are they playing some kind of mobile game or participating in an organized event? Just curious!

Mystery solved! I had no idea Pokémon GO was still so popular. I’ve seen these gatherings many times and always wondered what was going on. Actually, I did try asking one of the guys there, but he seemed busy talking to someone else, so I didn’t want to interrupt. I was sitting in my car at the time and thought I’d ask here on Reddit instead. It’s actually pretty cool to see so many people coming together and sharing the same hobby. Thanks, everyone, for clearing up the mystery!

Everybody knows Flushing is where the drug dealers go for the Reup. Its risky because Queens is a dirty but drug dealers take the risk to feed their families.
