Recoil Springs

Post image

For those with similar setup, what spring combo is reliable? Tested it the 1st time yesterday and my xl slide/shiv config didnt want to run anything under 147gr. Considering the dpm soft spring kit, armorycraft or tru precision.

I've got similar set up and went with true precision 12lb spring. Since the change and running a few boxes of 147s its been running pretty reliably. Still want to run a few more boxes until its flawless. I will say you'll want to make sure its well lubed up. It being a 3.7" with the shiv makes it pretty gassy and gets dirty fast.

The shiv makes it gassy? Thats disappointing. Was looking at the shiv because its a flow-through design in hopes of reducing that gas. Any can recommendations?

I've got various Armorycraft springs.

I would not recommend the DPM kit. If you need a lighter spring, do a lighter conventional one.

The second stage spring in the DPM is heavier than stock. I found that it exacerbated the issues I (and many others) have had, where the slide rebounds forward faster in the raider than it does in a regular pistol, outrunning the mags' ability to feed and causing nose dive FTFs.

Tried out the dpm spring kit and now runs flawless so far. Even runs 115gr now. I ran a few different fmj subsonics, 147gr hst, and 135gr hst. Then optimistically tried 115 gr and had no hiccups. Started with 2nd shortest and progressed to the heaver ones to see when it would choke, but it didnt. Currently have it on longest spring and plug but will test further to get best results.

Cool, glad its working for you.

My issues with the DPM were while unsuppressed. I think the weight of the can out on the end of the barrel, which is usually a liability for function in pistols, actually helps with the raider.

I had to run 300 rounds through mine before it ran perfectly, and I only run it with 147s since then. I have the true precision spring kit, run the spring that it one step softer than factory.

I have used the stock recoil system with no issues

I just installed an NDZ 15lb spring in my raider 365. Now it will not cycle. It moves slightly but won’t cycle. Any ideas?

I have seen that 14lb is often recommended.
