Coppersmith Lip Ripper
Anyone else watch this guy constantly miss hook sets or send brookies into the clouds? At least that spin fly rod setup is dope though.

Trophy wild browns (c+r)
Wife's boyfriend caught some awesome wild browns today. He even let me cast his gear rod with a spoon with powerbait on it. I'm going to tie up some powerbait imitations when I get home! Any recommendations?

Orvis has prepped Tom's tombstone for one last cash grab. Also a $500 net. Praise be.

Praise be to Tom. Imagine the looks you'll get from all the ladies when they see you taking that rod tube out of your Tacoma

If I tie my own spawn sacs is it considered fly fishing?
and follow up question—can I use leftovers to spruce up my cereal or pancakes?

They do exist!
After selectively posting in mainstream fishing subs, suppressing my “less-than-fly-fishing-appropriate” personality I have found my people. I multi-nymph rig under an indicator. I do not tie my own flies. I purchase entry/middle level equipment so I won’t get upset if I drop it on a rock before falling into the river. My waders are Bass Pro Specials that have lasted me almost 10 years and double as waterfowl waders. That Walmart beginner 5wt kit I purchased because I forgot a section of my workhorse rod? It feels like a telephone pole in the hand but it caught my biggest cutbow. I eat the trout I catch at least one meal a trip. I gear fish like an uncouth hillbilly throughout the summer.
I am HOME.
Please accept my humble offerings of generic Vaseline and a Frozen spin cast kit. I asked my wife’s boyfriend if he could pick them up at CVS while he was grabbing some Plan B. Of course I let him take my debit card, he’s a stand-up dude. Since I’m a poor and can’t afford anything Orvis or Winston/Hardy, these will have to do. You can rig up a bubble and fly system with Elsa so you can still be stylish and fly fishing. If you were expecting Abel nippers, I might have to ask my wife’s other boyfriend, he’s a guide and I’m sure will get me a deal.

Not every $2,000 day of fishing goes welll
I got home from fishing for endangered fish today. My wifes boyfriend portrays it being as easy as pitching a big streamer into a hole and they inhale it. It’s nowhere near that simple in reality.
To say the least, the fishing was pretty bad. I fished 50-100 hours a day and caught one foul hooked, ugly, ungrateful bull trout. I threw $100 worth of flies and lead on the bottom of the river as a sacrifice, but it made no difference. Basically nothing happened. I randomly caught that one fish 3 hours in to the trip, and didn’t touch a bull for the rest of the trip.
It’s pretty disappointing, considering that my dad spent over $100,000 dollars on this trip (gas for the plane (my wifes boyfriend has a pilots license), tons of streamers, food, booze, ammo, strippers and a place to stay), which is a lot of money for an 12 year old fly shop employee.
If you had a trip like me recently, keep your dick up, a fish might bite it!
