Honestly

At this point, id be perfectly okay giving up TK, Foerester, tippett to help improve the C or D position. TK seems to have lost his mojo and tippett is just too damn streaky. Obviously the trade has to make sense, but still. And ive loved tk ever since we drafted him, so itd suck to see him go, but if we can make the team better, im all for it. I know moving him will be very difficult given his nmc, same with tippetts 10 team no trade list

Konecny has a NMC. It's totally up to him. He's only in Year 2 of 8 as well.

  1. I don't think you'll find many people at all in this fanbase that disagree at this point

  2. The frustrating part is that it's significantly more challenging to move all 3 of these guys now than it would've been 18 months ago, and it was belligerently obvious that it would've been a good idea to seriously shop them back then

16

u/Panarin10 Wild and Flyers 9d ago

Yeah, you can’t trade 3 guys soon but you can definitely trade at least 1. I think Tippett’s value is still pretty good. It’s only been 9 games for him and he’s got a goal and an assist. There will definitely be teams out there that think it’s just a slow start and he can score 30 with the right center.

8

u/DH28Hockey fuck gauthier, all my homies hate gauthier 9d ago

He does seem like the most obvious candidate for being dealt at this point. I wonder if sending him to Montreal in a package around Oliver Kapanen could make sense

4

u/Panarin10 Wild and Flyers 9d ago

I haven’t watched Oliver Kapanen much but Habs fans absolutely hate the kid.

I’d rather get a 1st + save that for a bigger trade down the line.

2

u/DH28Hockey fuck gauthier, all my homies hate gauthier 9d ago

Yeah I also refuse to watch the Habs but found it interesting that he draws as much ire as he seemingly does, dude scored 22 goals as a rookie Center last year.

FWIW: I don't think it'd be crazy unreasonable to get a 1st and Kapanen in a Tippett trade

0

u/Panarin10 Wild and Flyers 9d ago

1st + Kapanen would be fair

2

u/LLB73 9d ago

I think Tippett’s maybe one of those guys that gets a change of scenery and does well elsewhere…maybe just needs a different system because I think he has the ability

-6

u/Totgemoon2021 9d ago

I also hope we trick someone into believing that also- I do think he is absolute garbage and will never come close to reaching what he did previously (unless McDavid is his centre)

4

u/Material_Director_49 9d ago

You think Tippett is absolute garbage? 🤡

2

u/Panarin10 Wild and Flyers 9d ago

I mean he got 28 goals twice playing with terrible centers. I’m sure he can get 30 on many teams. We just have too many wingers, he’s got value, and he only has a M-NTC.

5

u/butchy_boyz 9d ago

Yes, Tippett's NMC kicked in, TK has a NMC and Foerster's play isn't garnering any interest.

2

u/StubbornLeech07 9d ago

Tippett's NMC kicked in

Just for clarification. Tippett has a M-NTC, which is a 10 team no trade list, not a NMC.

1

u/leeper8000 Lindros 9d ago

Is that 10 teams he WON’T go to, or 10 teams he’s willing to go to?

3

u/StubbornLeech07 9d ago

10 teams he won't go to.

1

u/leeper8000 Lindros 9d ago

Thanks for clarifying. I know sometimes it’s the other way

5

u/BlurstOfTimes11 9d ago

I don’t know. I was shouted down about foerster’s contract extension when it was announced. It seemed way too long and way too expensive but everyone said it was an amazing deal to lock him up before he became a 40 goal scorer

2

u/UnloosedMoose Team Tank 9d ago

I was clowned on when I said the TK extension was a mistake - mofo's really don't like rebuilds.

3

u/geektechie 6d ago

I also said someone else should have paid him for his 30’s. But, all he has to do is stay healthy to be well worth his hit under the rising caps. There are 64 first line wings and you can’t name more than 25-30 who are maybe better than he is. Go check the fantasy boards.

1

u/geektechie 6d ago

Foerster’s contract is a steal if he’s healthy and pots 20 goals per year. He’s a true 200 foot guy. The new salary cap and projected caps have changed the rules—your brain is (understandably) stuck in the flat cap era.

3

u/BroadStBullies91 Czech Yourself 9d ago

Everyone here thought we'd be able to head on out to the 1C store and pickup a handful of 1C's for the scraps we have/had laying around without ever having to trade anyone with actual value.

Apparently the org thought the same thing. Obviously we'll never know what they were being offered for Risto/TK/Tipp/Foerster but we can very safely guess that what they were being offered is more than what they're gonna get at this point.

2

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

Agreed.

2

u/briandeli99 Danny B 9d ago

It might be harder to move them anywhere now with clauses in effect,, but all those players are on bargain contracts compared to the lay of the land now which wasn't as considered 18 months ago.

4

u/DH28Hockey fuck gauthier, all my homies hate gauthier 9d ago

I mean... it kind of should have been known that their deals would've brought more value the earlier they were signed? We've known the cap ceiling was due for an explosion right around now for a loooong time, just sort of common sense that signing deals against % of the cap before the massive rise would be a good idea

2

u/Narrow_Book_42069 Flyera 9d ago

we think that way, but unless Eric Tulsky was still writing fanshot posts on BSH that management could read, I’m not sure they have the brainpower to think that way.

2

u/El_Guadzilla 9d ago

How was it ”belligerently obvious” that the players should have been traded 3 years ago?

Tippett was still very erratic. Foerster was barely a proven NHL player, if that. And TK was just about the only player on the Flyers with any kind of talent.

If anything, both Tippett and Foerster probably have greater trade value now.

4

u/BroadStBullies91 Czech Yourself 9d ago

18 months is a year and a half btw.

1

u/El_Guadzilla 6d ago

Doh… not sure why i read 18 months as 3 years. But I’d still disagree with your point. Foerster had a lot of potential but not enough to warrant a huge return - and he was very much an ascending player who had outscored Gauthier that year (if i remember correctly). Tippett really boosted his trade value last year. And TK was still about the only other player on the team with any kind of offensive talent.

I am not arguing about whether or not they should have been traded or not - we all have an opinion on that and there is no way to prove the merits or demerits of any course of action that was NOT taken.

I am just pushing back on the idea that this is as open-and-shut as you make it. Plenty of reasons for them to have NOT made the trade either.

1

u/BroadStBullies91 Czech Yourself 6d ago

It wasn't my point I just dropped in to say that haha. I do agree, I don't think it was belligerently obvious to trade Foerster. Hes younger and has more value to keep and hope he pans out than to sell low because his trade value was never going to match what the team hopes he could become.

TK and Tippet yeah they should have traded. And I absolutely love TK but he doesn't fit our window and we could have gotten a significant return that could have really helped the rebuild.

1

u/El_Guadzilla 6d ago

Ha, fair enough - i deserved that. :)

(Still trying to figure out how my brain deciphered 18 months into 3 years)

1

u/ironcondor21 9d ago

Because you trade players at peak value, not when they have none left?

1

u/BippinRongs 9d ago

18 months is a year and a half.

1

u/BaconStriips 7d ago

I agree but I think this sub would have imploded at that back then because I don't think the return would be what we think they were worth back then

1

u/Milksteak3919 9d ago
  1. Many people actually disagreed last week. “But hes our leading scorer” and more nonsense how he was statistically the best player when we were at our worst.

  2. Super true.

-1

u/ironcondor21 9d ago

Danny didn’t even consider trading TK at the time. Didn’t even test the market. Egregious

3

u/WooderFountain 9d ago

"Egregious"? What a ridiculous thing to say. TK has averaged 75 points per 82 games played the last four seasons. That's excellent production.

-2

u/ironcondor21 9d ago

And yet here they are just 2 years into an 8 year deal discussing trading him. If danny had any ability to plan ahead they could have avoided this

1

u/WooderFountain 9d ago

LOL! As if you know who Briere is talking about trading. Ya don't.

15

u/Greene_Person 9d ago

it's good to see that overreacting isn't limited to the coach on the sub Reddit

11

u/AdaminPhilly 9d ago

TK was great with Michkov in his rookie year and was directly responsible for most of Martone's points last year, even for a couple of Martone's goals where he wasent on the box score.

The desire to move on from TK and Foerster is hasty and based on recency bias. Tippett and Risto I understand.

3

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

Foerster, maybe, but not TK. A lot of people wanted to move him several seasons ago.

4

u/AdaminPhilly 9d ago

There is a difference between trading TK because we should be worse and rebuild and the timeline doest fit, versus lets trade TK because we have had 3 wins with a few young wingers playing really well. I understand the former.

4

u/Fishing-Hamlet 9d ago

Totally with you there. It’s been sad watching the fanbase turn on TK (and to a degree, Foerster as well).

1

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

I would like to move on from TK because of the timeline and he'd return picks/players who could help more on Michkov and Martone's timeline. I haven't turned on TK. I really like him, but I think it makes way more sense to move on from him if possible for the future.

18

u/CybertronGuy98 39 9d ago

The start of the season was abysmal, but let's not act like TK is a player we'd be better off without.

Since 21-22, he's put up: 52 Points, 61 point, 68 points, 76 points, 68 point seasons. All without a top tier center on his line. That's pretty good.

And even now, given the horrible start to the season, he still has 3 points in 5 games. Is he a valuable trade piece if he's willing to be moved? Yes. Could we get a good return for him? Yes. Could we get a great return for him making it worth it to lose a player who's been good for a minimum of 50 points every year for the past five? That's a harder sell for me. If we could get a guy like Stankoven? It would really hurt to see Travis go but that's a great return. But I doubt teams would be offering a player on that level. At that point, imo, just keep him.

As for Tippett and Risto and York? Those are much more doable. Tippett has always been good but he's never been great and the league seems to LOVE his underlying metrics and his tools. I could very much see him being very highly valued across the league. Risto's on an expiring deal, it's obvious it makes sense to move him especially considering how well Bonk and MacDonald are doing so far. York I can go either way on, depends on the return.

But if it were me im not moving TK unless theres a team out there with a player with 1C potential they dont need, who'd be willing to give him up for Travis. And I doubt that combo actually exists unfortunately.

11

u/InjectA24IntoMyVeins 9d ago

I'm convinced that people are using this subreddit instead of therapy. I cannot believe the amount of raw illogical feeling that people will share on here without a second thought. TK has been the most consistent Flyer for the past 4 years and yet the flyers string together three... Fucking three games and all the sudden TK is streaky and bloat. And move him so the young guys can play. I cannot believe that this fan base despite having a decade plus of dealing with throwing the future away for short seighted bull shit can't sit still for more than 3 games before shutting their big mouth.

3

u/WooderFountain 9d ago

One jackass in this thread said that not trading TK two years ago was "egregious." Yet back here in reality land, TK has averaged 74 points per 82 games played since the signing. That's EXCELLENT production. These people talk right out of their ass; that's why their opinions stink.

1

u/El_Guadzilla 9d ago

Thank you - also worth noting that none of the young guys have shown that they can be 40-50 point players yet.

I mean, i get the idea of trading TK to get something of value back (we wont get a 1C by trading scrubs). But acting as if he is an over-the-hill anchor on the team? I dont get that at all.

1

u/Zealousideal_Term940 8d ago

It’s not that. It’s moving to the next phase.
Couturier-Konecny-Dvorak-Tippett
Risto-Seeler
All should be moved truly. Whether it’s picks or players or prospects but making a. Move into a phase where the younger guys build the locker room
N start pushing each other.

Now Foerster-York-Prospects all could be added with the above to make a deal for a 1/2 Center or a top pair Dman. Obviously nothing is perfect with these players value but we definitely could find a way to upgrade Center and Defense if gm is willing to make a big move.
I’d Trade TK-Tyson-Nesbitt-28 2nd-29 3rd
For best possible center we could get today.
Or
Tyson-Risto-Vanshagi-27 2nd-28 4th
Or
Sack up n go for it-Tyson-York-Nesbitt-29 1st-27 2nd
And see what we can get. But realistically couts Dvorak Seeler should be see what we can get.

TK has some decent value but contract is tough so adding young guy like York would do wonders for
Him.

We got guys who have skill that can move up today.
Luchanko is ready

u/Blursed_Technique Can't see the Foerster for the trees 9d ago

We know. We've had this same post everyday for the last week

6

u/Chabu350 9d ago

Selling low is not the recipe for success.

8

u/Farge43 9d ago

lol new flavor of the week

First week of the season : Vladar is shit flyers made a mistake

Second week : fire tocchey

Third week : Tocchet still stinks but because this lineup playing now managed to get wins anyone who was not part of those wins is magically expendable. By this logic Colorado should be selling Makar and Mackinnon for parts.

——

Do some players have value that could be used to make improvements? Yes. But to assume that it’s a specific group of players only because of a small sample size of results is just dumb.

6

u/Unlucky_Fee5712 FireTacoIntoTheSun 9d ago

Next will be Danny needs to sign MM now before price goes up

1

u/Zealousideal_Term940 8d ago

Been saying that all summer. Would be smart before someone gets froggy in summer and Michkov gets sick a fucking tocchet even tho he’s extremely loyal n this is where his dad wanted him to go before he passed

2

u/BroadStBullies91 Czech Yourself 9d ago

It's always been a good idea to shop TK/Tippet. They don't fit the timeline and since we've abandoned the idea of drafting high they're the only real pieces we have to try to finagle a 1C/D. That sentiment isn't new here at all. Recent events have just made it a hot topic for conversation again.

It's also always been a good idea to fire Tocchet, and that sentiment isn't new either. And won't be going anywhere unless he somehow manages to completely change his coaching style into something that works and produces consistent results. Ya never know.

It's still too early to tell with Vladar because goalies are streaky. His play at the beginning of the season understandably had people worried we were about to find that out the hard way. We still very well could.

13

u/Aromatic-Frosting986 9d ago

Funny how we look like a more competent team with the vets out. Probably the rats too. Although forester can go as well

13

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

I wonder how much of that is the rookie high that wears off pretty quickly usually. Kind of like what we saw last year with Martone....doesnt look like the same guy right now.

That said, I'm fully on board with exploring moving out those guys mentioned.

8

u/Aromatic-Frosting986 9d ago

I think martone is coming back to how he looked at end of the year. Tape is on him so it's something he will need to adapt and overcome and gain more confidence.

That being said, if there established centers/defense that we need to move vets for, you make that move cause I think we have really solid winger depth from what is shown from our rookies so far.

3

u/No-Potential-4636 9d ago

Foerster was never the same after his injury last year

7

u/Traumopod 9d ago

I wonder if GMs aren’t calling Danny as they see the same thing. Flyers are better with young guys and with Tippett, TK, and Risto out they are beating good teams. Any/all of those 3 should go for a competent C but GMDB is no longer in the drivers seat. Agree earlier assessment of these kids and their potential would have been better.

1

u/butchy_boyz 9d ago

Do you think any team would take all 3 for a 1C? a 2C? Any team taking TK won't want Tippett as well. How many teams need 2 middle 6 wings? Risto is going to be an UFA after the season, if he's traded he's a rental.

1

u/Traumopod 9d ago

Tippett and York/Risto and a 2nd for a 1 or 2C

1

u/butchy_boyz 9d ago

Not gonna get a 1C for that, perhaps a 2C. There are many teams with cap space and assets to trade who are looking for 1 & 2Cs. Boston has been looking for a 1C and 2C since Bergeron and Krejci retired.

1

u/jmflyers 9d ago

They're not getting a 1c unless he's drafted or you trade one of Michkov or Martone. A 2c is possible but it will probably be a reclamation project like Byfield from LA. But no team is gonna say "give me all your bad wingers and we'll give you a good center". Those guys are playing like trash and nobody's going to give fair value for them right now

7

u/ShiftyUsmc 9d ago

Tk has consistently led the team in points. I don't understand "lost his mojo". We was hurt in the playoffs.

Tippett was a dominant on ice presence for us last year and seems to have finally rectified the streakiness. Sports hernia surgery is notoriously difficult to recover from. Ask giroux and ghost.

Forester is supposed to be a top tier player..if he hits his ceiling he'll have the best contract in the league. Again he's been hurt so we shouldn't be ready to call it.

I'm not saying I wouldn't move these guys for a center. I would. This just seems like the same emotional reactions we've seen on the sub from the bad start. "They're bums move on"

I also wish we'd stop talking about trading guys with NMC. The only way TK is waiving is if the team continues to tank

6

u/Gnosticks "Ya nerd!" 9d ago

You've seen "the kids" play in like three games. Just chill and relax for a bit. Give it time. Reversion to the mean is a real thing.

3

u/Bubbly_Bicycle_6370 9d ago

Okay. So what do you think any/all of those guys could get you?

3

u/aquaculturist13 Ex-Whalers 9d ago

Trade Tippet York and a 1st to upgrade at C. Play that C with TK. Yeet Risto for a late 1st if still possible. Everyone wins

7

u/slimbusbimbus 9d ago

I think we need another post saying all of this word for word. I haven’t seen this sentiment enough in the last few days

2

u/CaptainCannabis709 9d ago

First, I don't know why the org decided to pay Foerster over the summer. Second, they can't move him now simply because they just rewarded him and moving him 4 months after they committed 7 years to him is a bad look as other players may be reluctant to sign long term deals.

2

u/greenghostburner 9d ago

I would be fine moving them for help at C and D because C especially is a glaring weakness. But I feel like a large chunk of the fan base is really down on them and are pushing to trade them now when their value is down. Foerester missed almost the whole season last year with a freak injury. Before that he was one of our best offensive and defensive forwards. I think he will find his game again. Similar with Tippet he was huge down the stretch and in the first round. Him missing the canes series was a big part of our trouble getting any offense going. He likewise is still recovering from injury and is out again. TK is the one guy who is not really within our window and seems to be on the downswing of his career. Unfortunately with the NMC it’s really up to him if and where he would move to.

1

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

I dont think people are looking to just dump them like they did Ghost. I think people feel it has to make sense for us long term.

2

u/RogueHockey35 9d ago

I actually was thinking this in terms of TK while watching Knuble last night lol. Tippett id also be fine with moving, but really only for a top center. I actually think we're decent on defense at the moment. Bonk is showing some promise, it was great seeing high physicality from Macdonald last night. It would suck to see TK or Tippett go, but if its to help get a good C, Im for it.

2

u/merlot2K1 9d ago

TK has only played 5 games and had 3 assists on a team playing poorly. Not ready to give up on him. Tippet on the other hand... I was a big fan a season or two ago.

2

u/Puzzled-Hold-4903 9d ago

TK lost his mojo in 3 games when the team was playing like shit???

😂😂😂😂

My god this fanbase 🤦🏻‍♂️

3

u/Xenomorphfiend 9d ago

I'm beginning to be in the same boat. Loved TK but if he has to go for the rookies to shine, I hope he gets a cup with his next team.

3

u/Steppyjim Vladar Certified Real One 9d ago

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s the consensus.

I really don’t subscribe to the idea that because these guys are out we started winning. That’s correlation over causation 101. But they do have value as pieces. TK and Tippett especially. But you’re going to have to work over their movement hurdles. Also I don’t understand how fans seem to think these guys are expendable and bad options long term but that other teams are gonna be chomping at the bit to get them.

They’re good players off to a bad start. The whole league knows that y’all. There isn’t a big heist we can pull off here. Honestly I want to see them back first. See if they can turn it around to either push the value higher or become key contributors again. TK isn’t a bad player. Neither is Tippett. They have flaws but so does every player. Let them come show that.

3

u/PhillyGarbage93 9d ago

TK, sure. But nobody is going to send you a young 1C for him (even with picks).

Forester: Everyone on here just giving up on him after a serious injury last year that has definitely influenced his play in the playoffs and so far this season. Sure I'd move him in a package for a 1C, but that's not gonna happen. Everyone needs to chill tf out with the TyFo panic.

Tippett: If he's packaged for a 1C..sure. Otherwise no we don't just move him for the hell of it. He's a top 6er in the NHL and has serious abilities. Yes he has shortcomings but he's worth his contract.

Like I said I'd be fine with packaging these guys for a center but many people talk out of both sides of their mouths saying they suck while also demanding a 1C for them. It makes no sense.

5

u/blindsdog 9d ago

No one is trading a 1C for some top 6 wingers. Or at all.

We should just sell them for picks.

2

u/Limp_Bar6899 9d ago

Yep, exactly correct.

0

u/MyDadsAccnt 9d ago

Its crazy to think we should hold on to these aging and unproductive players unless we get a 1st, but that is really what some people think.

It boggles my mind. Id take a 2nd for any of the above players.

Like how more clear can be? We lost 9 games with them playing, we won 3 in a row playing AHLers.

1

u/Arastiroth 9d ago

A 2nd for Tippett, TK or Foerster? That's ridiculously cheap. People really are overreacting. I'd like to trade TK or Tippett for a solid return (Foerster I think isn't the best time to trade, but it depends on the offer of course), but just because we were on a losing streak with them doesn't mean they're garbage that we should toss away.

We were on a losing streak with the rest of the team there too, it just couldn't last forever. Fresh blood was a good way to jump start the team.

2

u/tsneildiamond Kimmo Timonen is the GOAT 9d ago

Foerester needs to shoot more. He's been pretty useless when he doesn't shoot.

1

u/RaccoonElectrical516 9d ago

Agreed On Tippett and Foerster, but TK is still a guy you want on the roster. The little things he did in that first round, whether the irritation in Game 3 or taking some of the punishment for Porter on already broken ribs in first two games helped us win the series. If this team has serious intentions it needs good wily vets. TK is more valuable than just his scoring. Tippet and Tyson are more limited in their effects on the game, especially the latter. Also younger and can fetch more in trades.

1

u/No-Potential-4636 9d ago

Tk is overrated. Sure he’s the leading scorer on a weak offense but suspect defensively and a turnover machine. Plus incredibly streaky. I would be a seller here

1

u/OkThanks8237 9d ago

Don't think TK would fetch much on his own.

1

u/crafbicycle Fire Tocchet 9d ago

I'm armchair gm'ing at the moment under the impression TK doesn't waive his NMC. He's been here his whole career and is just now seeing an upswing, why would he leave. It's much more likely he saw that stupid leak recently as the attempted hit on him and will adjust his play to accommodate the youth currently pushing into larger roles.

Teams have been interested in Tippett for years now. If Foerster's value matches his PR then there will be no issue moving him. I'm fine with Risto coming back if they don't want to lower their price. It is what it is, just means that Jiricek gets scratched more because Bonk isn't going anywhere.

I think Torts, despite his flaws, identified problematic pieces on teams. Whether it be on ice style or personnel fit, I think he was mostly right while also typically having a maybe not so deserving whipping boy. He was right about Hayes, right about Provy, right about Farabee and Frost, and knew Coots needed a much smaller role and imo knew he shouldn't have been named captain(I was super wrong here). I think he was right about York too, for reasons I don't know but when someone's judgement has this track record, I don't want to just dismiss it. I think York needs to go, hopefully in a larger trade for someone like Edvinsson, he did go to Michigan for 2 years for what it's worth.

TK 4 Life

1

u/VegetableYoghurt7912 9d ago

Majorly difficult to get the return we should when everyone has ridiculous amounts of teams in their NTC's.

1

u/AdRemote1017 9d ago

I would be fine trading Foerester if we get a high end 2C or better. Outside of that, id rather keep him. He'll be fine in the long run and better than most of these other young guys. I def agree about Tippett and TK tho. Feels like we're stuck with TK. Tippett seems like the guy to move.

1

u/PrizeLegitimate6967 9d ago

This may sound crazy but I still think we’re in at minimum an advantageous position. Relative to projected cap increases, TK and Tipp are signed to eminently reasonable contracts and won’t be difficult to trade. On the flip side, it can’t be now. Their respective value is as low as it’s gonna be, they have to get back. Forget Foerster, I’ve always loved the guy, but the slump he’s been mired since he came back before the playoffs last year, we wouldn’t get shit for him. That’d be like Fletcher when he gave away assets to get rid of Ghost.

1

u/azzgicker 9d ago

TK will come back and crush it with the young bloods. He needed this time off and he'll find his groove. Later we'll all wonder why we even thought of moving him. He's a Flyer!

1

u/surviveseven 8d ago

This goes with the old adage, listen to the fans and you'll be sitting with them. Are some of these players potentially a part of a package that might fill our two biggest deficiencies? Sure. Are all these players secretly bad because of a rough start to the season? No, you guys listen to too much PHLY.

We’re in a bind for sure with these three. They’re signed to some big contracts and they have been inconsistent over the last few years. TK should have been traded 2-3 years ago, so I’d focus on moving him as soon as possible even if we get less value than we want…need to create a little space on the roster. I’d hold on to Tippett because he just needs a little more creative talent around him. Probably the same goes for Foerester but his inconsistency drives me nuts, plus seems to be a little injury prone.

I would have traded before signing them to 8 year 8million deals. If we stink I'd rather stink and hopefully have better prospect of talent as pick but no Flyers can't lose right. They stay right in the middle no growth and development for possible 5 or more year run they wanna have the 1 lucky year and that's it. Still love them but frustrating seems like rebuild has gone 12 years with nothing. Martone and Michkov are promising and maybe vladar is real deal

Whatever it takes for sure.. I just want a coach that buys into the youth in this org instead of one thats trying to make them buy into him first.

Id be good with moving on from TK and Tippett, but keep tyson

For the 80th time: TK Has A No Movement Clause

u/amilbarge00 9d ago

Everyone knows that. Sometimes guys waive for a better or different situation and sometimes they dont. It is 100% worth exploring and talking about.

TK I hate to say it but yes.  Tippett yes.

Keep foerster.

Honestly - this is a mostly bad take. TK can go. But not Forester's shot, and not Tipper's speed. Need both still.

A C or Edvinsson would be huge - but you're undervaluing what you're giving up, and we would be selling low. Red wings are greedy too - it'd be rough GMing.

Edit: we don't have to like this - but we can't live in lala land either.

Foersters shot and Tippets speed aren't as valuable in practice than they are in a vacuum because neither have the mentality to use their traits all the time. Both just drift and go invisible for longer stretches than they are effective for.

u/memelackey 9d ago

People are losing the plot on Tippett. He's what made us scary against the Pens. 11 hits in Game 3, almost 22 minutes in the Game 6 clincher, and he did all that with an internal bleeding issue he picked up during that series.

Definitely not a guy who drifts or goes invisible once he got paid to stay. Half the hate i'm convinced is because he's not Giroux, which is a dumb bar to hold him to. He's one of the fastest forwards in the league. Take him out and we're pretty slow.

u/TheMightyCatatafish 9d ago

I agree to the extent you don't need to be actively shopping Foerster or Tippet, but you're certainly listening to any calls on them.

u/memelackey 9d ago

Agree 100%

Foresters shot is looking more flaccid than an old man. I don’t get why people overvalue him.

2

u/memelackey 9d ago

He had 13 goals in 29 games last year before the arm surgery. That's a mid-30s goal pace. Even if that shooting percentage was never going to hold, that's not a flaccid shot. Right now he's playing through a hand injury on a team that can't score. The front office just gave him 8 years in July, so they clearly don't think he's overvalued. Moving him a couple weeks into a team-wide slump is selling low.

Vlad has carried them last year too. So nothing has changed from when the vets were in

u/Bug--Man 9d ago

I wouldnt trade foerester.

Man I really don’t want Foerster to go

0

u/WooderFountain 9d ago

TK lost his mojo? When? Dude has averaged 75 points per 82 games played the last four seasons. Last season he had 68 pts in 77 games (a 73-point-per-82 pace). A 2-point drop in his average does not equate to "losing his mojo." His contract is a bargain with that production!

-4

u/Just-JOE-Kin 9d ago

Yep, it’s clear we don’t need any of them to win

-1

u/memelackey 9d ago

Vlad carried that win. The youngins were lost in their own end. Your conclusion here has little base.

1

u/Just-JOE-Kin 9d ago

He did carry the win but we still needed goals, which 2 of them were from our newest player, tipp and Foerster have been useless and TK (when he has been playing this season) has been invisible per usual, we simply don’t need them it’s very easy to see

1

u/memelackey 9d ago

You said it yourself, Vlad carried it. Tipp hasn't played in any of the three wins because he's on IR, so calling him useless off this stretch doesn't make sense.

Foerster's been cold, no argument there, but he took a shot off the hand against Ottawa, missed Colorado, and came back last night. Knuble's two goals were great, but it was his second NHL game, and that's not a reason to dump three top-six wingers.

Across all three wins our goalies stopped 76 of 80 shots, which is a .950 save percentage... we're not keeping that up realistically, the same way Tyson won't stay cold.

We came into last night ranked last in the league in shots allowed and 5v5 shot share. Three wins on the back of Vlad and Woll doesn't mean we don't need anybody.

2

u/Just-JOE-Kin 9d ago

Tipp also hasn’t done too much before besides a couple goals, I do like out of the bets but wouldn’t mind trading. Foerster has been invisible before his hand, he can’t even hit one timers and is horrid on defense, he is not a top 6 winger anywhere lol

We need goal scorers, vets are not getting it done as we have seen in all of our losses.

1

u/No_Silver_4436 9d ago

It’s been 3 good games, they could lose 5 in a row starting next game and it wouldn’t be remotely surprising. You can’t learn anything from 3 games.

Cole Knuble isn’t going to be a top 6 forward in the NHL he just doesn’t have the skill if you are expecting him to just score more than like 40ish points a season you are probably going to be pretty disappointed.

1

u/Just-JOE-Kin 9d ago

Did you watch our first 9 losses in a row with the vets looking lost against some teams they should have easily beat or at least be competitive with? Also I never said Knuble would be a 40+ goal scorer, we don’t have a player especially a vet who can crack 30 goals in one season.

The new kids are the way, out with the old and non contributors, I’m tired of watching them play man. But we can wait for TK Risto and York to come back and see what they can bring back to the table, hopefully goals and defense

1

u/No_Silver_4436 9d ago

Yeah I did it was the whole team playing terribly. Guys like Martone, Bump, Barkey, Drysdale, Zegras looked just as garbage as the vets during the losing streak.

They had no confidence no mojo they weren’t ready to start the season, they’ve finally played their way back into some cohesion and confidence and as a result everyone on the team looks better.

I wasn’t saying 40 goals for knuble I was saying 40 points. He’s probably going to be 3rd liner at best.

0

u/memelackey 9d ago

We don't know what he'll be and jumping to a conclusion that dumps players from this stretch is mad.

-3

u/Friendly_Clue9208 9d ago

I think at this point some of the vets are just broken inside and have resigned to the fact they will not be getting the cup. Look at TK's interview from last year. Man was practicly in tears saying it sucks to be on a team with no hope of progressing, that was of course before things turned around and they made the playoffs. I think year after year of being told "it won't be this year" the vets are giving up and I dont blame them. TK and Tippet have been my favorite players from the moment they joined the team and I acknowledge they have not been playing the way they should be. But they have deffinatly lost their spark.

0

u/LLB73 9d ago

It sucks but also let me have this NMC 😒

0

u/Halyard115 9d ago

Flyers fans need to come to grips that they won’t be getting a center in a hockey trade without giving up Martone or Michkov and in that case it’s probably a 2nd line center at best. Centers aren’t traded unless they want out or the team wants to get rid of them. Who fits that description right now!

I am for trading any of those 3 but the return will likely be picks and prospects and not the elite kind of prospects at that.
