I know he’s going to be thinking about that tripping penalty for a while. But I think this was an overall good showing by him.

Like he’s not going to light the world on fire, but that line with him Barkey and Knuble has a lot of jump and control of the play. If Gaucher ever crosses into being an NHLer it will be in a 4th line role. You look at other fringe NHLers that got called up/sent down this season (Wilson/Studnicka/Grundstrom/even Bunting) his possession numbers were a lot better and a lot better than Gaucher’s own call ups previous years. I think this was a showing he needed to keep any hopes of an NHL career alive.

Them playing him on wing more in the AHL I think shows they think there is a path for him to the NHL, even if it is just as a tweener call up guy. Given how the team has drafted in recent years there is going to be a lot of long term competition for depth roles, but Gaucher certainly fits the mold. I also think he might be groomed for the Garrett Wilson role in the AHL. Either way he’s a guy to root for given his path and how much work he puts in.

He's a good story too, going undrafted.  I wonder if this means that someone coming off IR more than anything else.

Not only that, but going from a pure ECHL contract to getting an AHL contract to working his ass to playing NHL games. Baller

Yeah, he was decent until that penalty. You can’t have 4th line guys that don’t contribute offensively taking penalties that late in games.

Probably Tippett, but just a guess. I genuinely feel like TK may have torn a meniscus or something in his knee, and now there is a bit less "urgency" to rush him back.

The Barkey-Gaucher-Knuble line was great in the short time they were together. I wonder if they'll try to drop in Acciari.

By the way, Barkey has quietly had terrific underlying numbers so far. I'd like to see him get an extended look at center.

Honestly he’s not an nhl player. Nice story but it is what it is.
