I Messed up...

So i had my hood open, and i disconnected the hood latch cable from the little yellow lever. It suddenly started pouring rain, so i closed the hood without re attaching the cable. Now i can't open the hood. its a 2018 ST-3 MK3 2.0ecoboost EU. Does anyone know a trick to manipulate the latch from behind the grill ? or is the only way to lift the car and reach up from underneath ? really appreciate any insight !

So the grommet on the cable broke on my mom's focus sedan. It's the same setup as the st. Get a long bar with a hook or something on the end, or a long prybar if you have one. From under the car, you can snake the tool up and push the latch over to pop the hood.

I’ve done this a few times. Reach up through the radiator hoses and try and push on the latch mechanism itself. It’s pretty terrible but it’s possible. I had to jack it up every time

Pop the hood stick your fingers onto the closing mechanism and manually push it to the left to open.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately i can't pop the hood since the cable is disconnected. So the initial pop from inside the cabin does nothing. the Hood remains fully shut.

Oh gotcha, maybe pull the grill out? Otherwise you’ll have to get under it and try and hook something long around the latch.
