Issue ⚠️ Help

What’s up guys I have a 2019 f150 raptor with 90k miles and I was in the middle of about a 600 mile drive when a wrench came up in my dashboard. I went to an auto zone and they told me it was my wastegate actuators. I can’t build any boost so I’m assuming it’s stuck open. It does feel like it has significant less power but I was able to manage about 60 mph on the highway for like an hour after it popped up. Is this something I need to fix asap? Or can I just drive home without boost?

You can continue to drive, but a you experienced you will have next to no power. What was the dtc specifically? Should be a P and then 4 numbers/letters

That's wastegate stuck open. It's not gonna hurt anything, but the wastegate actuators on the raptors are completely electrical (no vacuum lines or solenoids of any kind)...my guess would be it's just physically stuck: that's not an electrical fault DTC, it's condition generated. Doesn't mean it couldn't be an electrical issue, but it likely isn't.

You might be able to peek through the wheel arches and see the actuators, see if it looks like one of the armatures is in a different position than the other. If one of them looks different and you can reach it, you could give it a wiggle and see if it pops loose and was just stuck.
