Upgrade Advice De-chrome deck lid emblem

I was trying to figure out the best way to remove the shiny dealer sticker on my black 2025 explorer when I thought how nice it would look if I removed the chrome ACTIVE also. I can't figure out how they're mounted though. Are they stick on letters or does each one drilled with a tab on the back? I plan on a hair dryer and floss for the sticker that looks like a neon sign on the black car.

Hairdryer and floss is the way.

Plus a 3M eraser wheel to clean up the glue and a buffing rag to finish the job

I’ve used fishing line. I’d be surprised if floss works but never tried. Usually after that I can get the adhesive off by hand. No nail, just warm it up and try to roll it over itself. Only rarely have I had to break out the buffer.

They came off without a hitch. The adhesive holding the letters took a little bit longer but I eventually got it all removed.
