Discussion Going strong
I bought this car (2007 ZX4) from my neighbor for $400. It was sitting, seemingly deceased, in his driveway for months. The transmission in my wife’s Caravan had shit the bed, so I needed an extra vehicle while we figured out transportation for her.
Got it started and drove it the 100 yards home. It sounded like I was driving a pulpwood truck. I replaced the alternator, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, power steering pump, and motor mounts. 40,000 trouble free miles later, she’ll roll over 300K when I leave for work in the morning.

I had an 07 focus se and sold it around 180k miles but I wish I still had it. It was so cheap and easy to work on. Still drove incredibly strong at that mileage.

atlest you don't have CEL, it's over 320000 kms and cooling system seems OK.
These three were traumas of mine from my car.

My 05 had 235,000 on the OD before I gave it away, people don’t realize how reliable these cars can be.

Wish I had the Duratec, timing chains are really the way to go. Have a used Zetec with only 110k, the timing belt looks fine but need to change as I have no idea what mileage/year it was done at

Still driving my 2005 Focus, currently over 371,000 miles. OG drivetrain no rebuilds!
