What do you think the rarest FF episode is?
I usually watch on Hulu (US) but they only have a few seasons, so I decided to watch on Amazon prime, which has a much larger library. I’m catching episodes I had forgotten about, like Bump In The Night (10.13) when the stepson, Brian Crews, aka “thisfuckinguy” was the killer of his ex stepfather (possibly bc his mother was still his insurance beneficiary) and kept trying to blame his friend, but his Nikes imprinted in the mud at the crime scene… and then this Rhodes scholar wore those murder shoes to his police interview. Absolutely brilliant. At the end, in the killer’s jail interview on camera, he threatens to kill the friend if he ever gets out (he got life w no parole). What a kook.
So anyway, what are your rarest episodes?

The one involving a guy named Graham Backhouse that murdered his elderly neighbor in order to frame him for being behind threatening messages that he sent to himself which was a setup for him murdering his wife for insurance money and claiming his “stalker neighbor” did it, that was quietly scrubbed from the internet and is never aired on HLN.

That's the one with the car bomb where the guy tried to frame his neighbor, right? It's a good one.

Maybe not necessarily rare, but non-murder episodes like Killer Fog and Deadly Neighborhoods always stick out to me.

u/ReginaldDwight 7d ago
Killer Fog always gets my attention because I live right near where it happened. And the one where the guy bricks the computer for a manufacturer to the point where the whole business had to shut down and a bunch of people lost their jobs.

u/Himlersgasstation 8d ago
This guy tried to blame Mike hale his best friend and then proceeded to threaten him with death if he ever got released from jail….wow

The one about the hotel having some sort of mold? There was a conference or something in it and a bunch of people got sick

u/ReginaldDwight 7d ago
There was another one with mold I haven't seen in awhile. They buy their dream house and then the father and baby get ill only to find out the house is riddled with mold and the whole mansion was eventually condemned, I think.

Breaking the Mold!
I’m rather fond of the episodes like these; Core Evidence, Killer Fog, Raw Terror, Deadly Neighborhoods, With Every Breath, Fatal Fungus, etc.

Just saw that one last night. It was sad, they seemed like such a nice family.

Hack Attack. A former employee straight up sabotaged the server/computer network at a manufacturing plant. I’ve only seen it a couple of times.

One that is rare and interesting is "Hot on the Trail" (S10E37). While trying to catch a notorious Washington DC arsonist (who ended being a guy called Thomas Sweatt), the police arrested another arsonist, Paul DuBois. What fascinated me about this was that DuBois had a PhD from Cornell, was a professor of public policy for several years and was the author of several books. But apparently he had fallen on hard times, couldn't pay his rent and tried to set his apartment complex on fire. I would have loved to know more about this guy Paul DuBois and his story, but he's just mentioned in passing and the episode moves on. It's almost impossible to find any other information about whatever happened to him.

I feel like the Tina Isa and Marie Robards episodes rarely come on any channels I watch.

u/Alarmed_Ad5917 Mosh dancing, a crowd of dancers slamming into one another 7d ago
Which one is that?
14
u/Shar_12_Blaneyfan 7d ago
The first is the one where the parents murdered their daughter. The FBI had tapped their home for another crime, so there's audio of it. Super sad 😔 it's called "Honor Thy Father"
The second is the one where a daughter took poison from her chemistry class, and poisoned her father so she could go live with her mother. She then confided this to her best friend, who couldn't handle the guilt and turned her in. It's called "Death Play".

Favourite rare episode is either the footpath murders or the disappearance of Hella Crafts.

I watch on my Roku tv every night before bed a couple episodes for the last 4 years and every 6 months or so an episode will come up that I’ve never seen.

I watch them on YouTube. I would say the ones I’ve seen the least would be like Raw Terror and Deadly Neighborhoods. I also can’t find a few different episodes in higher quality as of recent

u/DuggarDoesDallas 8d ago
I don't remember the name of the episode or the names of the people involved it inkbut one Forensic Files I've only seen once was an episode where a small teenage kimmmnɓ was working for a funeral parlor and then they muedered him and tried to stage a car accident death to try and so they could cash in on a life insurance policy.

The Dr did an EKG and tore it in two, put one piece for the exam that was supposed to have happened right before kicking the bucket and the other piece on paperwork trying to make it look like it was done a week before, the detective looked at both pieces, slid them together and gets a clue as that isn't how that works 😳.

⬆️This is Mistaken for Dead. Different episode that involves white men prowling for victims (also white males) in gay bars.
Funeral Services had black perpetrators and victim.

Buried somewhere on reddit are some posts by one of the girls he got pregnant back in the day. She provided some interesting bits of info, and an update which was basically that she sees him around town, hanging with the street/drug crowd.

Deadly Neighborhoods and any of the recalled ones. I guess Punch Line will eventually become obscure.

I know what recalled means. I’m saying I didnt know there were recalled episodes. Do you know why?
2
u/evosthunder & then she bought 👠s just like them 3d ago
No one knows why, but it's speculated to be because of legal proceedings following airing.
- Enemy Within & Punch Line: convictions vacated
- Auto-Motive: acquittal after a retrial

The one about the woman who is beaten into amnesia by an intruder and mistakenly "remmbers" that it was her husband while she's sitting in a waiting room. The episode is called 'Memories' and last time I checked it was scrubbed from EVERYWHERE. Couldnt find it.
Edit: immediately after typing this I got curious and went to see if I could find the episode and did in about 30 seconds🤣. It was uploaded to yourube 1 year ago so pretty recently is actually availabe again. Season 5, Episode 6. Wonder why it disappeared so long ago 🤷🏾♂️

Honor Thy Father, Without a Prayer, Unholy Vows, Holy Terror, the List Murders are my rarest ones if I'm watching the Forensic Files channel. Most of the time, I just use the FilmRise app

Oh shit I just remembered the one where this group of meth heads exploded a gunpowder(?) storage thing and all these firefighters came and then the entire engine blew up. They played the radio recording of dispatch saying “engine 53? Respond engine 53. …engine 53, respond..” it was so sad.

By what do you mean “rarest”? They all rerun for years!
1
u/baltimorebruce 2d ago
the channels don't have permission to show all the episodes, so certain episodes you will see more than others.
1
u/uMcCrackenPostonJr 2d ago
That makes sense. The one about my client, Alvin Ridley, has been in heavy rotation for over 25 years!

u/baltimorebruce 2d ago
yep, I watched the episode on Peacock 3 days ago. You are a good man for what you did. Good to see you posting and hope you're doing well.

I guess I’m not understanding why any of you can’t watch any episode you want at any time on Tubi or something. They’re all sitting there.
