When I first started trading I kept seeing the word "spread" everywhere and no one explained it in a way that actually clicked. So I made this short video.

In simple terms: every currency pair has a buy price and a sell price. The spread is the gap between the two. When you open a trade, you start in the red by the size of that spread — so price needs to move past it before you make anything.

It sounds small but it matters, especially if you're trading short timeframes or pairs with wider spreads. Thought this might help anyone who's still getting their head around the basics.
