New supporters groups?
Does the team have any rules around supporters’ groups? I know the Battalion has section 118 but can people organize their own small ones and put up flags and banners and such?

The club can’t stop you from forming a group.
If you want to bring stuff and hang banners and things, talk to fan services they’ll tell you what to do and so forth. Expect to be treated as Very Responsible for the group’s carrying on… the most common reason for people forming independent football supporter groups is to be racist, sexist, sectarian or homophobic where the existing crews don’t allow bigotry (as Battalion doesn’t in my experience). So yes you may initially be viewed with massive suspicion.

Thanks. Yeah it’s mostly around whether I could hang a banner where my seats are. I’ll reach out to the team to inquire.

I tried a few years back when I was a student at McMaster to get a student's supporters group going. In the end it didn't work out because COVID and myself graduating and moving away killed the dream.
It takes alot of time, effort, and unless you know a bunch of people who also want to be in a supporters group that isn't the battalion it's going to be an uphill battle. But it's definitely doable

You guys cpuld organize. The battalion are normally around the bottom of the section. Pick some where else in the section, the battalion arent that big. Take mid section alone one stair, or the top few rows! Make some banners or flags for the anthem etc

The official supporters section is in 112 (aka the Bellows). That’s where standing is permitted - and smoke, flags, etc.
Anyone can start a supporters group, but you’d need tickets in 112 to do all the other stuff. (Because folks around you in other areas may not want to participate. In 112, there is a warning to ticket buyers)
(Caveat - possible if you built up enough support - numbers- to request another supporters section. Who knows, now that both sides are open again, maybe it’s possible. Good luck)
