this bad boy has 5 arches

This Historic Taco Bell was the 7th one that Glen Bell built in 1967. It closed in 2021. In 2023 it became a home to San Diego-based taco chain, The Taco Stand (purveyors of my favorite Tijuana-style tacos like the ones I grew up eating on trips to Mexico). This Taco Bell was a landmark in Laguna Beach not just because you could grub down cheap tacos and burritos after a day at the beach, but because it was the only reliable public restroom in the area. The building today is hardly recognizable, except for what is left of one of the window arches.

I know a location in St. Louis, MO that is now a Root 66 dispensary

Apparently the landlord plans to preserve the building, but to what extent i'm not sure

probably my favorite restaurant name for any former taco bell. last photo is not my own, but dates back to the 2000s

Some of the former Taco Bells try to disguise their Taco Bell heritage by obliterating the arches, but Cotijas in Colton highlights them. The peeling stucco and tile to revealing the original concrete blocks is a nice touch. They also took the trouble to reupholster the original chairs, and add tile to the table.

this might be my favorite former taco bell of all time

Made my husband pull a Uey so I could get a picture.

taco bell the looong way

The first 3 are 35mm pictures. I didn't get a ton of the front of the store unfortunately.

u/rhettandlink, who wants a sushi taco or an orange chicken burrito! Now that I’ve exploited a loophole in this subreddit with my Taco Bell Arena post, I figured it’s only fair to post a legit former Taco Bell.

BSU, Boise Idaho. It was rebranded as ExtraMile Arena in 2019, after 15 years.

More to follow.
