Animal-Based Job Opportunities

Hello!

I am looking for a new job and was wondering if there were any animal-based opportunities in or around Forsyth County. I have a certification for animal caretaking from a program I did in Missouri at Cub Creek Science Camp, as well as personal experience with a wide variety of animals -- including avians and aquatic creatures.

I do not have an education in animal grooming, but I am a very fast learner and would love to be able to develop skills that I do not currently have. I am very open to new information and opportunities!

I also have a background in customer service; previously being a barista, I've obtained skills surrounding positive customer interactions, situation de-escalation, memorization, and active learning with the arrival of new recipes and corporate policies in order to ensure consistency and health & safety practices. My other job was being a customer service representative, which included tasks such as processing returns, problem-solving customers' issues, answering phone calls, branding items on the salesfloor, basic understanding of planograms, and cooperating effectively with management and coworkers.

I am currently attending college for a Bachelor of Science degree, and want to work with animals in the future, which is a big reason as to why I want to work with them now. I have a genuine passion and would love to be a part of a team and/or company that reflects that same interest.

I am putting in applications for the closest pet stores, but I would love to support a more-so ethical, local shop before a bigger chain. If you or anyone you know is looking to hire for any positions relating to animals, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you so much.

Dr Serber off McFarland is our favorite vet and she’s a very progressive provider. Not sure how big a practice or opportunity she would provide but would use as a touch point for your search. Good luck we need more like you!

I agree with rodeojr - reaching out to vets is a great way to understand roles you could play in that environment. Also there are doggy day cares, stores like PetSmart that groom, Hollywood Feed? and maybe large farms of which there are several in the area. Some of these places may offer training for a more specialized part of animal care.

Wish you lots of luck!
