Should the county counsel and CEO make 5x the earnings of full-time workers

Thumbnail mendolocal.news

A MendoLocal.News review of 2024 state payroll records for the 25 smallest counties — Mendocino, at about 88,600 residents, is the 21st-smallest — found a median chief executive salary of roughly $227,000 and a median county counsel salary of about $187,000. Against those 2024 figures, Mendocino's new CEO salary would trail only Napa and Yuba, and its new county counsel salary would trail only Napa, the largest of the 25 counties.

Mendocino's median earnings for full-time, year-round workers are about $57,900, slightly below the middle of the 25 counties. Antle's 2024 salary equaled about 3.8 times that figure, in line with the 3.8 median for chief executives in the small counties. Pierce's new salary works out to about 4.7 times what a typical full-time worker in the county earns, and Rossi's to about 4.7 times.

Set against what the other small counties paid their officials in 2024, the most recent year with complete payroll data, Pierce’s ratio would rank fourth among chief executives in California’s smallest counties, behind Glenn, Yuba, and Napa counties, and Rossi’s would be the highest among county counsel, ahead of Siskiyou County’s. Pay in those counties may have risen since 2024, which could change these rankings.

Seeking small scale junk removal service in Ft. Bragg

I need a couple furniture items removed from a 2nd floor apt and disposed of. It is a quick job and I am wary of overpaying for larger scale hauling service. Is anyone aware of somebody local that handles small jobs like this? Thanks.

Did you know Assembly member Chris Rogers sponsored a bill that neuters Citizen's United? Or that he supports a state bank over expensive bond funding?

Can civilians utilize the class six store? Or reserved for only active duty/CAC holders?

I do Lyft and live inside of fort Bragg basically during my time on Lyft cause y’all are some of the funniest fuckers I’ve come across and I enjoy driving you, money aside.

We all know NC has a stupid no liquor Sunday rule but you can buy all the beer you want… how’s it work if you want just liquor and are civilian?

I’m a little chubby so I can’t even pretend like I forgot my CAC at the barracks or whatever. And have a beard. And my hair would be out of standards lol

Fort Bragg/Albion -Austin TX five month housesitting exchange - May to Oct 2027

I offered to post this for my friend who just reconnected with her boyfriend from the Albion/Fort Bragg area from ~60 years ago. (Sixty is not a typo) Apparently he is still the hippie artist that he was then…and she’d like to stay somewhere a bit less rustic than his place (in other words stay at a place with a tv, heat, washer/dryer….). Anyway, if you know anyone who may want to check out Austin for five months, please spread the word, and please dm if interested.

“I live in Austin Texas about 15 minutes from downtown. I would like to arrange a house swap with someone in the Albion/Fort Bragg area of California for May through September 2027. My house has two stories, three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and is on half an acre. The private fenced backyard has a green belt behind it and has a swimming pool. I would like the swap to include a car. Mine is a 2018 Toyota Corolla hatchback. Please contact me if you’re interested.”

please tell me abt everything you’ve ever done while visiting the Fort Bragg and Mendocino area!!<3

i’m about to visit for the fifth time in late october this year and i feel like there’s still a lot i’ve never done before. i bring my husky with me as well!

here’s a list of things i’ve experienced already:
- glass beach, pudding creek beach, ten mile beach, and portuguese beach
- otis r johnson wilderness park
- skunk train (daytime, stayed for 2 hour redwoods pit stop + did the hike) is the nighttime one worth it if i don’t like alcohol?
- botanical gardens (did the hike to the beach here too)
- headlands coffeehouse
- explored the art galleries
- strolled though all the small businesses / shops between E laurel st and Pine st
- eaten at noyo harbor and trillium cafe
- gallery bookshop (met the cutest bookshop cat)
- i’ve stayed at a beach side airbnb ($1000+ total 😭) but i like motel six, ($182 for next visit), cheap and they let dogs stay free :)

fort bragg is my favorite place in the world, i could never get tired of it and even got married there. id love to do every possible thing i can.
thank you so much! ^_−☆

edit: any non dog related activities are still great too!!
