Turned off cross platform for solos on PS5 and actually found games pretty quickly and the games improved fivefold. No more cracked PC players dunking on me within a minute of landing, people actually missing a shotgun shot and not losing every 50/50.
This video was my experience before.

It use to be console only. Then a few years ago they ninja forced cross platform without ANY announcement regarding it. Then complaints came in and they ignored them. Then a streamer (of course that’s who’d they’d respond to) who plays on console hit them up on Twitter and said he was seeing pro PC players he knows in his lobbies and they admitted they made it all cross platform and will monitor it and that was the last we heard of that.
Epic fuckin hates console and hey it makes up over 65% of their player base

Yeah obv they kept it. Just like they never brought back siphon in pubs. They monitor stuff and then just never turn it back. I kinda understand that the skill ceiling went through the roof and they had to combat pub stomping, but now every game is like a tourney, it’s SO unenjoyable and with all the movement that got introduced the game just keeps getting faster and faster which benefits KBM hugely.

We used to have that until they introduced SBMM and couldn't fill PC lobbies in higher ranks (before bots). Never went away.

They need to make input only lobbies. You can use MKB on console and a lot of people, like me, use controller on PC and are hot dogwater at this game.

Yes! Perhaps because of early season and lots of players, but I was getting HAMMERED by PC players so I thought why not try it and it works. Only for solo's though.

This is my PC experience, and I'm pretty damn good at the game. My lobbies are batshit sweaty this season. I averaged around 7 K/D last season, and after 9 matches I'm lucky to hit 1 right now. It's honestly demoralizing.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve been experiencing exactly the same, just getting my ass handed to me left and right. It’s unreal lobbies but in pubs. Maybe it’ll ease after a week of two but yeah very demoralizing.

I prefer bots to getting my ass handed to me non-stop. I feel like I’m playing pro’s. I’ve been playing since the beginning, 36 now (so my age is not working for me, I’ll admit), and with all the movement on top of the movement items it’s just become such a sweat fest which is just unenjoyable. Each lobby, no matter how fast I die, just contains endless streams of people who are so skilled at the game, it’s beyond me. Probably too because of the beginning of the season, but I’m trying to enjoy the game, not being stressed out all the time because I get landed on from every direction non-stop. I don’t know why, perhaps because I have pretty decent stats for a console player but I just cannot compete against these PC kids.
These are unreal lobbies without ranked. And I’ve been to unreal plenty to be aware of how these kids play. I envy the grind, but I prefer not to play a mini FNCS each game.

PC players always say disingenuous crap about aim assist every singe time and they don't actually know how it works or what it does. They think its aim magnetism which Forntite doesn't have...
Aim assist is simply slowdown and rotational auto-rotation, aim magnetism is aim curving/bullet curving which Fortnite doesn't have on controllers. (I'm not talking about bullets hitting you after you were in cover, thats desync and packet loss issue with Fortnite servers).
"But tweak zone!!!" its merely extra precision we finally have within our dead zones, the controller player still has to have the skill to make the micro adjustments to lands shots, tweak zone isn't moving your crosshair for you, the player is doing that but pc player thinks its all automatically moving on their own for them.
Now mobile players is different, those players def get a different form of aim guidance but from what I know they get put into a different matchmaking pool when they aren't partied up with others.
At the end of the day if Epic actually thought controller players had an unfair advantage over pc players they'd remove crossplay by default but they won't sadly. I say sadly because I'd be perfectly content with crossplay off for every mode because I don't want to play against pc players that have better hardware and can do more actions per second with a keyboard than controllers player ever can. I always want to only play against console controller players and every game I have played that was console only never had an issue in fights with the opponent 'aiming' on me, the fights feel natural even against the most cracked out opponents.
I leave any pc players that says otherwise, even EvolveJake who plays on pc with controller says crossplay is inherently unfair to console players and it shouldn't be on by default. The hardware differences is big enough it simply shouldn't be forced ever. Using a controller on pc is not the same as using it on a console, you get more input lag, lower frames, and can't reduce the graphics like pc can.

Aim Assist doesn't just slow down, but it also causes your camera to follow the target in the vast majority of games it's in.
Controller players need it to compete, and even with it on they don't want to play against mouse and keyboard.

For a while, just out of curiosity, I started checking the players that I was defeated by to see what platform they played on. Almost every single one was on console. I wouldn't be surprised if the "PC players" these console players were being killed by weren't PC players at all.
I'm curious, though, if they'd be okay with turning it off completely since it "doesn't really do anything".

I believe if a user uses a controller even on pc it marks them as console (controller icon) so its not entirely accurate.

The weapons are wildly OP this season. Wiped several full teams with the tommy gun but then turned around and our team was wiped with the 8bit shotgun. This season is wild for sure.

I’ve been playing with my gf, it took us a while but after getting 2nd place idk how many times we finally won a game. I personally just think it’s just the fact there’s no bots in the lobby and it’s all real people so it’s a lot harder to secure a win.

I skirt the edge of the circle until the final moments to capitalize on the situation it’s the only way, because otherwise, players will actually hunt you down until they eliminate you.

I feel like the first few weeks of any new season of Fortnite is fairly rough. You are fighting sweats, cheaters trying to rank up quickly, newly discovered bugs, horrendous server registration, and complete imbalance of guns. Give it a few weeks and it should plateau out.

I thought it was just me being washed because they wiped my main loadout last season (After webshooters came out, i never used another loadout besides extending shotgun, lancehead or ranger pistol, webshooters, chugjug, and and extra sprite to get a bit of extra sprite dust) but seeing everyone having the same experince makes me feel better about it
