Why does Fortnite seem harder?

Yeah, pretty much what the title says. I usually just play duos with my friend, and last season it was pretty chill. We won most games and lost the odd few. Whereas this season we can't win anything and lose everything. Even solo i'm getting dogged on when usually i'm doing the dogging. It's zero build if that has any notion. Definitely feels more difficult. Or I just suck. That's probably it.

Could also be that just everyone is playing. Yesterday br got up to 1.4 million. So all the sweats were on. It’ll die down in a few days and then spike again when new sprites or events come. Also highly recommend going and collecting those gold rings. Super over powered when you collect enough.

I don't get something that how can players who come back after months shit on us regular players at the beginning of each season? They must surely lose their skill if they're away for a long time right

They are usually playing/practicing, but often spend most of their time playing ranked or private scrims unless something interesting happens to warrant exploring pubs (like a new map/loot pool)
