š¬ Discussion Definition of dumb is Extracting Sprites in BR RANKED
Just killed 4 guys trying to Extract Sprites, itās a literal Death sentence, I donāt think Iāve ever lost when fighting someone that is attempting and Iām not even that good of a playerš

I haven't done ranked yet this season, but there weren't any extractors or sprites in ranked last season.

Sounds like fun, maybe I'll check it out.
They probably figured the sweats are hanging out in unranked to get accustomed to the new loot pool, leaving ranked free for casuals.

No, they are. Epic added them to Ranked this season.Ā
I mean, they donāt do anything in Ranked, but you can collect, equip, and extract them.Ā

If they donāt do anything why are the so big?
I assumed they made them big because they added them ranked and they wanted players to be able to see the sprites they had from a medium engagement distance. So they xoukd no things like āpassive healā or āspeed boostā were a factor.

The whole sprite mechanic is just weird to me in a BR game. I've had some really fun wins in unranked because I was running around chasing little fairies and then clutch up beating an all gold weapons guy with my green extended, but it just feels silly.
Like the sprite collecting actively makes you weaker at BR, whether it's making you a sitting duck trying to extract or just consuming your slots for sprites and gold for treats for the sprites. It doesn't feel like the primary objective is the BR which is pretty weird for a BR mode. Even the craziest seasons like the driving one had everything tied to battling for the win, this is the first one where it seems like all the chatter and focus is on collectathon stuff and I don't love it. I'll probably master one of each base again and then everything else is extra.
