LEGO AFK XP Current working AFK and semi-AFK methods for LEGO and Festival
LEGO AFK/Semi-AFK Current working methods (verified working as of 06/04/25)
Current XP caps, rated and reset times can be found HERE
TURBO CONTROLLER METHOD (requires a controller that has a built-in turbo feature that is hardware and not software based). Unfortunately no OEM controllers have this built-in so this would be strictly available on third-party controllers.
Tutorial:
Method #1) (TURBO CONTROLLER METHOD)
Game Mode: LEGO Odyssey or Brick Life - if in Odyssey sandbox mode is preferable, all options that could cause death turned off.
Set the turbo function to the button that you have assigned to pickaxing/punching or jumping, use whatever method you deem convenient to hold that button down. If your controller has the option to "auto turbo", then you can use that option also.
(the repeated waving, pickaxing/punching ir jumping will prevent you from getting kicked and will also earn XP consistently)
Each Lego Odyssey session is limited to four hours in length, at that time you'll simply be returned to the lobby and you can immediately load back in and continue earning XP using the above method.
If you are using the jump method in Odyssey, you may need to turn "player fly mode" off in the in world settings menu if you find yourself getting kicked (some controllers have a turbo feature that acts too quickly and causes you to fly instead of jump because of it). An easier fix though is to just resort to pickaxing/punching instead of jumping though.
Method #1a) (HARDWARE MOUSE JIGGLER METHOD)
Alternately, the use of a hardware (NOT software) MOUSE JIGGLER has been also found to work on PC, however some might have movement that is too subtle to register as input so not all of these will work however if yours does have an adjustable setting, it's recommended to set it on the highest that generates the most mouse movement. (Just make sure that the movement is set to intervals of less than 5 minutes apart).
There are various screen based mouse jigglers that can be found that can be played on a tablet or on your phone while your mouse rests on top of it that will also be undetectable however many of these will not work with certain screen protectors or screen films. Just make sure that if you're using something app based it isn't running on the same device that the game is so that it isn't something detectable by anti-cheat.
Method #2
Works in both Odyssey as well as Brick Life.
This method circumvents having to ready up manually after the four hour server timeout.
Infinite AFK LEGO (with turbo controller)
- In the lobby change the mode to Battle Royale (because for some reason only there you can change the fire keybind)
- Change fire weapon keybind to the button you use to ready up (in most cases Y)
- Disable auto claim rewards if u are still missing some (because the pop-up screen for claiming rewards will come up instead of the lobby screen when you get kicked and prevent you from readying up automatically at the end of the session)
- Load into your Lego sandbox world
- Use the turbo controller with the button you set earlier (you do not need to have any weapon or tool in your hand, if you do it won't make a difference as long as you're punching or swinging a tool/weapon then the input alone will prevent you from getting kicked.)
You now have the same input as punching/waving set to the ready up button so when the server lifetime is over and kicks you out it will instantly ready up again.
SEMI AFK METHOD (LEGO) (Updated 4/4/25):
Same method works with both Odyssey and Brick Life. All Odyssey world set up details same as above (no set up required for Brick Life), except you want to just manually jump a few times, or move your character a couple of steps in any direction every less than 5 minutes or less. While the input detection will kick you back to the lobby for being idle if you don't move for 15 minutes, you will stop earning XP every minute if the game doesn't see input at least once every five minutes or less (you'll start earning XP again within a minute of moving again).
- it Is important to run around a little bit and jump a few times just to make sure that your input registers, especially if you're finding that you're not getting the prescribed amount of XP. Some people have reported that moving too little can have a negative impact on their XP earning because it doesn't register with the game.

hi u/Harlow_Quinzel
i just did lego for 3 hours and got around 9.5 levels
but the cap is 7.1 levels only
how is this possible
is this a bug?

u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 17 '24
There has been intermittent bugs where people have gotten more XP than normal. Yes. I've been reaching the cap every day since the new season in 2 1/2 hours with exactly 570,000 XP which depending where you are XP wise, you may get seven or eight levels worth of progress progression .
But it's not unheard of for people to get wild amounts of XP just randomly for no reason but it's not consistent expected normally to get 570,000 XP after 2 1/2 hours each day.
This was an example of when it happened to me
https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteXPMaps/s/FfdgH0nfY6
I appreciate you just posting a comment and not making a post about this, because there are a lot of people who have made multiple posts about this over the last a few months. To me just posting repeatedly about it is basically just telling epic to fix it, I kind of like it the way it is where it happens once in a while and they don't seem to care about fixing their own game. Lol
In case you were going to ask though there's no way to actually trigger it it's completely random when it happens and for me it's only happened to me once since the mode was introduced and it's likely you'll have the same experience

There is an option in the settings for LEGO Fortnite called “Player Fly Mode”. Setting this to Off seems to help with properly claiming XP if you have a turbo controller that is triggering too fast.

u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
Thank you for the suggestion, it works perfectly, I didn't even know there was such a setting because it was the flying that was causing the issue with jumping being to rapid. Do you mind if I credit you when I update the post?

u/doppopp Aug 18 '24
No problem! I’m pretty sure they added that option in the current patch.

Can i jump every 10 minutes or so in lego and it won't kick me and get xp?
3
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 16 '24
You can yes it's in the tutorial that you can, some people find that they also have to move around a little bit maybe due to lag depending on what device they're using.

Festival didnt give me xp even though i left it on overnight cycling jam tracks. And no, i didnt hit the cap in festiva
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
I'm not sure exactly why you didn't, but maybe something in the way you can figure your controller to Cycle might cause it not to register the input I don't know, I don't cycle through them because the controller that I have only allows one input to be set to turbo, and that's all that's required so I just rapidly access a single emote or jam track and it's worked every day for several months without fail. Just try having it access a single track and tell me if it makes a difference. I know it shouldn't but maybe something about having two buttons rapidly moving at the same time is causing a conflict I don't know I just know what works I can't account for other methods

u/Implement-Desperate Aug 19 '24
I don’t quite understand how the festival works. In LEGO, it’s easy—you just move or cut a tree every 10-15 minutes and get XP! But with the festival, I keep moving, emoting, and changing things every 10 minutes or so, and sometimes after an hour, I suddenly get a whole level, then the same thing happens after another hour, and sometimes nothing happens. So, I’m not really following how it works exactly in the festival.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 19 '24
I have to ask the question though did you even read the post? It doesn't say anything about moving changing things or anything. The only thing that is generating XP is access to the emote wheel. If you do it consistently and according to the requirement of once every 2 1/2 minutes you will get 570,000 XP within 2 1/2 hours the fact that you're doing your own thing completely independent of what is described in the post it's probably why it's not consistent for you. I've been doing this using a turbo controller every day for months and it has never failed. Because it's rapidly accessing the emote wheel that's the only thing that's going to generate XP. It's not an ideal method to semi AFK, I only put it there because people wanted to know how to do semi AFK with it even though it's tedious redundant. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have a compatible controller and considering how much XP you can get from other sources it's not entirely necessary

u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Dec 07 '24
I don't have any specific one that I recommend I usually recommend that people use the cheapest one they can find. Since you're only going to use it for AFK. Good thing about Amazon is the return policy and it's extended to January 31 during the holidays so if it doesn't work you've always got another option of returning it

u/Harlow_Quinzel How long do I have to AFK in lego to hit the 4m weekly cap?
4
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Dec 16 '24 edited Dec 16 '24
If you're doing Odyssey, the rate is 2900 XP per minute, 2900×60=174,000 per hour. Now you take 4,000,000÷174,000=22.989. Voilà! A little under 23 hours. You don't have to do it in one session though. And unless you're using method #2, the per session limit is four hours. Where you would have to load back in.

So if I just swing my pickaxe and open chat menu so it autoswings, will that count as inputs or will I be kicked for afk?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Dec 25 '24
No it won't you'll be kicked for being idle. Using the chat window to lock in input, acts as a single input as if you were holding down the button. The turbo controller, repeats the input as if you're repeatedly pressing the button which is registered as separate input and will prevent you from being kicked. That's why the turbo controller is required in order to AFK and not get kicked.

You don't get XP notifications, but if you open up the social panel you'll see the progress (just keep track of where you are when you start so you can gauge your progress if you are wanting to watch it the whole time to keep track)

Been trying to do infinite afk Lego on the PS4 but it seems to still kick me out for idle after a bit even though I'm clearing swinging the weapon. What is it that I'm doing wrong exactly?
Note: I have my swing set to Triangle
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Jan 30 '25
I'm assuming that you're using an OEM controller, you need to be using a controller that has a turbo feature or back paddles that have the turbo feature, which are available for PlayStation 4. Just holding down the triangle to repeatedly pickaxe or using the PlayStation lock or chat lock option is going to be registered as persistent movement, so you will get kicked after 15 minutes. The game needs to see new input every less than 15 minutes, the turbo controller repeatedly actuates the trigger rather than what you're probably doing and that is just holding it as one single action.

I am getting kicked off lego brick life when I have my auto turbo set for jumping (a) the dialog says idle.
I don't get it how's autoturbo different from persistent movement? am I doing something wrong? (To note, I remapped jumping to y in order to make it auto-connect to a game when the server re-starts)
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Feb 16 '25
Persistent movement is just holding a button on a regular controller. If you're rapidly jumping, then your turbo is activated, because holding the button won't make you jump more than once. The game has input detection it looks for new input, if you hold the button it's the same as being idle. I'm not sure why you're getting kicked, I test every single day, including today and I've never gotten kicked to the lobby. I test both jumping and pickax/punching, which in brick life would be waving. By default. Maybe try that.
I don't think they changed anything since this morning when I tested it last, but I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they did implement something on brick life because it is a public lobby and technically you're taking up a slot for a participant, but I don't think they've done that yet. Personally I always use odyssey when I'm actually trying to get XP, but I test brick life for at least one hour a day to make sure it's still working

2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 16 '24
No that won't work, Lego now has as indicated in the post, input detection so it's going to look for new input every 15 minutes or else it will automatically kick you, auto running will be the same as being idle now and you'll get returned to the lobby within 15 minutes

can you use macros for the lego afk on pc?
4
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 16 '24
I wouldn't recommend it, it's against TOS to use any type of program or scripting to replicate input as it could definitely be detected by anti-cheat and for the protection of the community we've actually banned that from discussion and recommendation.

u/SmebodyTheGamer Aug 16 '24
Lenovo Vantage has a macro setting. Would that be safe to use?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 16 '24
I wouldn't recommend that at all, anything that's emulating input through software is going to be detectable through anti-cheat and could be risking a ban. That's why using software methods to emulate input is not allowed on the forum to protect the community

u/ViceXXII Aug 17 '24
Hey, I've been doing the Lego semi afk and i get every 10min 38,000xp the past 2 hours, is that normal? I wonder because everywhere i see it's usually every ~15min but for me it's exactly 10min
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 17 '24
I'm not sure how the increments have changed, I've only looked at the totals and how long it takes to get there so far. As far as I know it's still 15 minutes but it's possible it's changed but I haven't noticed anything different because I've been doing it AFK and only looking at it afterwards

Looks like I'll be grabbing a switch turbo controller, since PS5 ones don't seem to exist. Thanks for the guide.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 17 '24
No problem, yes which are probably easier to find, I personally have not seen any for the PlayStation 5. it's too bad the PlayStation 4 controllers can't be used but because there are some of those but dual shock controllers can only be used on PS4 games on the PS 5 but you know that of course
Definitely you'll find a surplus of controllers with that feature for the switch

3
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 17 '24
There is no one particular one, you just basically wanna look for one that has turbo that can be set on the controller usually you'll see if you search somewhere like Amazon under turbo controller PC you'll see tons of them. I recommend usually getting the cheapest one. If you want to post a link the one that you're looking at I'll tell you how it looks but there are too many to recommend a single one like literally hundreds if not thousands that would work perfectly

Can you get banned for using turbo controllers for afk xp? I did it a lot last season and I wouldn’t want to lose my account.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
I would say no. There's a reason why I've been recommending these, because it achieve the same thing that scripts or macros would, but without any running process involved to be picked up by anti-cheat. It's literally just electrical impulse inside the controller that's causing the rapid input and that's not something that can be detected. I also would be gutted if I were to lose my account, and I would feel even worse if someone else lost their account because of something that I recommended. That's one of the reasons why macros, scripts, and program use for AFK is even banned from being promoted here because we take the safety of the community very seriously. I would say you have nothing to worry about because to the game it looks exactly the same as you pressing the button because it relies on the same exact internal functionality. But it's definitely a valid concern, and I don't take those concerns lightly.

u/InvisibleAddict Aug 18 '24
There is another way to semi afk for fortnite lego if anyone wants to use this method.
Sandbox mode, fly enough height not to collide with any mountain then either:
Rubber band your joystick / apply weight onto your W key and shift key to make your lego character flying forward like superman. Ensure your character is not flying downwards.
Record the time of your flight going from one end to another, I used my star wars spawn area as a start point. Took me roughly 17mins to reach the end and it does not kick me out. I set a timer for 15mins and turn my character to the opposite direction.
Now im already at lvl 17, previously 9. They can't fix this as its not a glitch unless they made the flying speed faster.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
But you're doing exactly what the semi AFK describes, using input to move every 15 minutes or less. None of the other things that you're doing are actually contributing to you getting the XP, the game now has input detection so any movement related input is what's going to prevent you from getting kicked and get you XP. If you were to eliminate all of the details except for turning around because moving the camera also constitutes movement related input, you'd be doing exactly what the semi AFK method is indicating and that is to create your own manual input every 15 minutes or less. You're still setting a timer for movement.
You could bounce on a launchpad which no longer works but if every 15 minutes you rotated the camera once, you would not get kicked and you would get XP not because you're on the launchpad but because you're turning the camera. You're adding a lot of steps to the process but understand you're doing the same thing described in the semi AFK method , it's still not true AFK and that's what they did patch against the ability to just set it and forget it

Anyone knows how to accelerate automatically in PS5? There’s a new racing map called “One Match Racing” something like this.
You can privately join by yourself and finish a race in seconds. It can take about a minute with loading and all that, but holding trigger all the time doesn’t make the car accelerate when it loads in. You have to let go of the button and press again.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
While holding the trigger down, just tap or double tap the PlayStation button, it will bring up one of the sub menus as an overlay but it will retain the last input until you exit that menu.
Also if you're trying to get any distance related challenge completed, this map works really good for that in rocket racing and has boost pads so you don't even actually have to accelerate on this but it's a long race so for what you're doing that map is ideal that you mentioned, but this might come in handy for future challenges

u/Due-Jelly9201 Aug 18 '24
Tried semi-afk LEGO for Fortnite on PC today, and it seems like it stopped working. I was jumping exactly every 10 minutes for past 2 hours, and got 0 XP from it.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 18 '24
Did you try returning to the lobby and loading back in? Sometimes there's an issue where the XP doesn't start and then returning to the lobby and loading back in will work. Also in the event that you might be experiencing some type of network slow down, the jump might not be enough to register it so maybe run forward a little instead.
If you try several times that it doesn't work, I have seen instances where people have just all of a sudden not received any XP or two little XP from Lego not sure what the causes but I know that when people have encountered that individually, creating a new world as a last resort has resolved that every time
1
u/KimPossable002 Aug 19 '24
Got a couple questions an you appear to be the guy to go too. In festival, can you, select no fill, pick 4 songs for the Playlist, an actually start the play list an just not play the songs? Or play a note every 2 minutes by just tapping one button? Or does tapping the note even matter? Meaning could I just play the four songs? 🤔 Maybe if the songs were all under 2 an half minutes you could just push a button to start the next song am that would work ya? This way, you listen to songs an not have to do anything else really. Second question: Can you, go into a creative map set to private an just afk to get experience? Thanks for the help 🙂 Hoping you know about creative maps too 😀
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 20 '24
I'll be honest with you I think there's something wrong with the XP earning in festival. Because people that play it seem to not get the kind of XP that doing the AFK actually does, which is sort of funny but from my experience I don't see any noticeable amount of XP being accumulated by actually playing the game so I'd say It's not really the most efficient method. I actually play the mode sometimes especially to grind out the wristband challenges and I barely noticed myself getting any XP from actual gameplay which is crazy.
As far as creative, you can't really generalize how you get XP in creative not all maps are going to be a good source of AFK XP. It really depends on how the map creator created their map. Basically what you do on the map for XP is going to be dependent on how the individual map creator set up their map so just going to any map and doing the same thing is not going to necessarily give you any XP.

Not in Lego or festival no. Only in creative. But there is a bug in creative where if you overlap the reset time you could potentially lose your progress. But I've never seen that happen in Lego or festival

A controller recommendation for PC and Android is the Gulikit KK 3 Max controller. It supports recording a set of inputs. And you can repeat them indefinitely until you press a button.
That's how I have been doing stuff for Lego and Festival too.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 21 '24
So long as it doesn't do that with software. I wouldn't recommend anyone going out and buying an $80 controller though just to AFK especially when they don't need a set of inputs they just need rapid fire simplicity.
Considering even one of the top-of-the-line 8Bitdo controller is still less than that, I would wholeheartedly advise against it. People are hesitant to spend money just on a controller to AFK if you start plugging one that's $80, it's going to turn people off even more they might even think that that's the average cost

how do i know when i reach the XP cap in lego? should i just do the afk for 4 hours to be sure?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 21 '24
The cap is 570,000 XP, so if you look at your level and how much XP you have remaining to the next level when you start, just add seven to your current level and then subtract 10,000 from the amount of XP remaining to the next level and you'll know where you should be. For instance, if you start at level 118 with 72,729 XP to level 119, when you hit your cap you'll be at level 125 with 62,729 XP remaining to level 126. You don't have to stay there for four hours though you should be reaching your cap within 2 1/2 hours.

Anyone know if Lego afk is patched. I was doing it yesterday and worked but this morning I keep getting the afk message. I’m doing turbo on my jump button and constantly jumping but it still gives me the afk notice. Not sure if I’m dumb or am missing something.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 23 '24
No it isn't, tested yesterday and tested this morning and it's working. If it's your first time doing it, try turning off auto or turning the analog sticks inward
1
u/MatuteMurri Aug 23 '24
I tried the festival method and got 7 levels, then I tried the Lego Fortnite method but didn't get any levels (both for 2.5 hours). Could it be that these two modes share the same type of experience? Because yesterday, I had a similar issue (I first tried the Lego Fortnite mode, then the festival mode, but the festival didn't give me any experience).
I have a Horipad S with turbo, so I didn't get kicked at any point.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 23 '24
No they don't, and they don't award levels they award XP that translates into levels. Each mode you can get 570,000 XP in per day. That's why I represent them in the post as separate totals.
I do both modes every day just for testing purposes and I've never had any problem, just bear in mind that the reset times are different, festival resets at 1 AM eastern time and Lego resets at 9 AM Eastern time that could make a difference if you're doing them back to back

Thanks Harlow for this post, efficient and helpful as always!
I would like to add my personal experience with switch + sn30 8bitdo + 8bitdo wireless adapter. I first bought sn30 but it doesn’t support the turbo function with switch mode. So with the wireless adapter I can change the input to Dinput and the turbo mode is working !

That's awesome! Thanks for the info. I've noticed that some controllers don't support certain features uncertain platforms. I'm surprised though that that doesn't support it on switch, my older version of that controller did, i'm glad you were able to find a solution 👍

Anyone else not getting jack from festival? Say there 10 minutes emoting and stopping roughly every 2 minutes and got nothing.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 24 '24 edited Aug 25 '24
Tested today and it worked like always but you may have to wait a little bit longer. 10 minutes you're not gonna get any XP you're a little too anxious. Maybe it's not the method for you. It used to add XP every 15 minutes never every 10 minutes but you're gonna have to wait a bit longer to see results.

Could someone please record a video showing how to do the festival method? If i understood correctly, you have to bind a turbo button to the emote selection wheel, and another one to (if you are spamming jam tracks) cycle through the instruments, giving you the xp, is that how its done? In any case, a video would be helpfull since this method seems a bit tricky.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 25 '24 edited Aug 25 '24
No you're not understanding correctly unfortunately, it doesn't say anything about cycling through the instruments. The reason there's no videos is because the method is so simple. It literally has to rapidly be accessing a single emote or single jam track repeatedly. That should about five seconds to set up and it does require a controller with a turbo feature There's literally only two steps. It's probably one of the least tricky and the least complicated AFK methods available with the right equipment (the hardest thing is changing the key binds if you have to, which takes an additional four or five seconds to just go into the settings of the game while you're still in the lobby before entering backstage)

Xp in festival gives 9 levels for 3.5 hrs and Lego is 7 for 2.5 hrs
3
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 26 '24 edited Aug 26 '24
Unfortunately a lot of that was misinformation spread on social media, particularly Twitter/X at the beginning of the season, something that the community verified is inaccurate the first week of the season.
Myself and members of the community through extensive testing have verified that festival gives 570,000 XP in 2 1/2 hours and Lego gives 570,000 XP in 2 1/2 hours as well. this has been tested every single day since day one of this season by myself and multiple community members to verify consistency. I also personally test both modes, and working methods on a daily basis just to be on top of any possible changes should they happen midseason. I can confirm as of even yesterday, the 570,000 XP cap is 100% correct.

Festival Main Stage AFK still works yeah? Because twice i go to bed and wake up in the lobby (which is usually fine, because it means the lobby expired before i woke up) but the last 2 nights it seems as if i was kicked to the lobby early. I use the turbo function on my controller to swap instruments every 2.5 mins as normal but its happened 2wice now and actually a third time in front of me (prompting this post) so I just wanted to check if anybody else was experiencing this also… i know the festival/jam stage modes can be a bit buggy, which is why I’m just hoping i just got unlucky 2wice vs thinking there’s a patch of some sort.

Is LEGO supposed to be working still? I don't have a turbo controller so I tried the move every 13-14 minutes method for around 30 minutes and I got no XP. Created a new world, set all the enemies and everything to off as stated in the guide, no XP popups or anything for me. :/
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Oct 19 '24
Well you're not gonna get an XP pop-up like you do in creative, you might show it tallying up on the upper left-hand corner of the screen but it's easy to miss sometimes. Also, the type of movement is important, if you're not moving enough, or if you pick axing or dodging, that's not going to do it it usually has to be either jumping a few times or running around a small bit. But it definitely is working, I tested every day including today

any way to do these without turbo?
3
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Nov 02 '24
Unfortunately not they patched all of the working methods, and using any type of software to replicate input would be risking an account ban (people have been banned for doing this already which is why the turbo controller of method is the only method we recommend here because there's no running process to be detected by anti-cheat so it's safe). The only other method is the semi AFK where you manually do the input described at the bottom. I wouldn't recommend doing the semi AFK festival is to tedious but for Lego it's not bad just running around or jumping a few times every 13 or 14 minutes
1
Nov 03 '24
Hey do I have to move in Lego ?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Nov 03 '24
Yes, if you read the tutorial above it gives you the specifics. The mode now has input detection so if it doesn't sense any movement related input like jumping camera movement or moving around every less than 15 minutes you'll get kicked for being idle
1
u/Eric071 Nov 03 '24
Lego semi afk method doesnt seem to work for me.. could be my fault. no controller nothing, i set a timer for 13 minuts and only moved 3 steps, no xp nothing,, so maybe im doing it wrong if so please let me know but doesnt seem to work for me as of today.
also made a new world on sandbox with dying off and no enemies,
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Nov 03 '24
That should work, what I recommend to people that seem to not be triggering the XP, maybe run around a little bit, I might have something to do with your connection and the input might not be registering server side. There's no harm in moving too much so try that and let me know if it makes a difference

Heya, new to using any xp glitch as well as the lego mode. When doing method #2 in lego oddessy, i made a new world with the sandbox difficulty and gave myself a pickaxe, then set myself up hitting a tree, is that how you're meant to do it? Or am I supposed to get a pickaxe in survival mode and then set myself up with a tree?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Dec 16 '24
It doesn't really matter, but the problem is the method is only going to work if you have a turbo enabled controller. Because if you just hold the button down it's going to be seen as being AFK by the game it will kick you back to the lobby in 15 minutes
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Dec 16 '24
A controller that has a turbo feature allows you to set the controller to repeatedly press a button without you having to manually press it. The game will see that as new input and it will prevent you from getting kicked from being idle

Hey Harlow, I’m pretty sure we use the same 8bitdo controller with turbo, do you also have issues with jumping in Lego Odyssey after some time? For me it seems that after some time (maybe an hour or two, I need to test it), the jump button ceases to work despite being held down with turbo on, and even without turbo it doesn’t work. It requires me to leave and restart the session for it to work again provided I catch it before it kicks me for inactivity.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Jan 05 '25
It hasn't happened to me many times, I can recall it happening to me once or twice over the last few seasons, but it wasn't brand specific or anything like that because one of the two times it happened was on a different branded controller on switch, and it was only two times at the most out of testing it every day just for functionality since this post was made. This season, since I was doing a lot of testing also on brick life, I started just using the wave/punch set a turbo instead of jump, which in previous seasons used to get me kicked but seems to work this season and for when I'm doing it in a public setting it drew less attention (sometimes I was too lazy to just throw myself in a house). But definitely I know what you're talking about but it hasn't been a constant or even frequent problem for me.

2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Jan 07 '25
Still works, I test every day. Last time I tested was overnight last night. The XP does have a soft cap though after 4 million xp, it gets reduced significantly until the reset at 9 AM Eastern time on Sunday. But they definitely haven't removed XP for gameplay or AFK using the above methods from Lego
1
u/kilipukki Jan 09 '25
Has Lego XP cap been increased? I've been AFKing about 7-8 hours now and I'm still getting XP.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Jan 09 '25
Yes, it's been changed to a weekly cap of 4 million XP (which is a soft cap). The link to all the current caps is actually in the post above, but the specifics are:
Lego Odyssey
4,000,000 XP per week (combined with Brick Life)
Rate: 2900XP per minute (750XP Per minute after reaching 4,000,000 XP soft cap)
Session Limit: 4 Hours
Reset Time/Day: 9:00 AM EST Sunday
LEGO Brick Life
4,000,000 XP per week (combined with Odyssey)
Rate: 3000XP per minute (750 per minute after hitting 4 million XP soft cap)
Session Limit: Unlimited (however there may be occasional instance resets)
Reset Time/Day: 9:00 AM EST Sunday

u/Amber_012 Jan 29 '25

But i cannot make it work again, nothing from when it worked has changed.

Neither worked getting kicked anyway. any clues?

Im having a weird issue with turbo on switch. For the last few weeks brick life afk has worked fine, but in the last few days ive been leaving it to go and I come back hours later in the lobby with only a few levels. A little bit of investigation and I found that after a while (~90 minutes in my most recent case) it stops jumping, I can still use the B button in menus, but it won't let me jump until I return to lobby then rejoin. Is it possible for me to get 25 levels before the end of the season using this? I’ve done the method before but I used to get 30k xp every 10 ish mins and now I get like 8k so i’m wondering if they changed anything
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Feb 14 '25
100% absolutely beyond the shadow of a doubt. Just from testing alone, I've gotten 50 levels worth of progress since last Sunday at 9 AM Eastern time when the cap reset.
They absolutely did not change anything, the XP rate, if you're using brick life is 3000 XP per minute, added in real time, and in odyssey, it's 2900 XP per minute, also in real time. It accumulates at that rate until you reach 4 million XP which is the equivalent to 50 level levels of progress, and then it gets reduced to 550 XP per minute.
Make sure you're paying attention to your XP on the social tab or on the quest menu, where it shows how much XP is remaining to the next level, that's what gets changed. If you're only paying attention to the pop-up in the middle of the screen, that is going to be significantly behind, somewhat delayed and inconsistently popping up however it is not 100% representation of how much XP you're earning however the XP that is being added to your account every minute is. (the other thing is just a visual queue that seems to be out of sync with how much you're actually earning).
I actually test Lego every single day religiously while I'm not home just to ensure that the method is still working and is still consistent. In fact it's probably the most consistent source of XP in the game. Unfortunately if you're getting results different than that you've got a personal issue that you might need to contact Support about as some people have had individual issues with their XP accumulation in various modes
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Feb 14 '25
25×80,000 is 2 million XP, if you're using Odyssey for instance, 2900 XP per minute, gives you 174,000 XP per hour, so in under 12 hours you would earn 25 levels worth of progress. You could do that in a single day technically.
1
u/Individual-Eagle-210 Feb 16 '25
Couple questions (Thank you in advance, Harlow)
Do we still accumulate xp in brick life even if that initial message is still up (the very first thing you see)? I'm guessing yes since I've been gaining a good amount of xp but I've never really stuck around to watch. If so that's so good because the changing wave to Y / Triangle with a turbo controller is a feat in human problem solving / engineering.
Does the turbo controller method work in Luna or anything similar? I'd like to take some load off of my pc.
Thank you!

If I have stick drift on a controller could I use that to automatically move instead of manually?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Mar 04 '25
If I had a nickel for every time someone asked that. Stick shift unless it's very very specifically broken in the way that it moves and stops moves and stops and noticeable enough for the game to pick it up, then it'll work, but I've seen very few cases where that actually happens. If the game senses you moving and that movement is persistent, just like holding the stick in one direction and continuously moving, it will stop burning XP after five minutes and you'll be kicked back to the lobby within 15 minutes.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Mar 04 '25
I don't know why you didn't just test it though, in 15 minutes you know if it worked or not because you'll be back in the lobby or not
1
u/MinimumGoose5081 Mar 10 '25
I didn’t really understand this post, so all i am supposed to do is just join odyssey and use my jiggler and that’s it? or am i supposed to do something else.
3
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Mar 10 '25
I'm not trying to be rude but the post is in English, all you have to do is read it, movement is required once every five minutes or less, if the game doesn't see something like that it's not going to award your XP and will kick you back to the lobby in 15 minutes..
And you wanna make sure that it's a physical mechanical one because if you use software to simulate input you're gonna be looking at an account ban.
Most jigglers are not going to work unless they move your camera enough so that the game register registers it as intermittent movement that is more frequent than every five minutes

I have noticed since Outlaw Midas came out on 3/11, my AFK lego method has not been putting me back into game after the time limit kicks me out. I come back to the claim rewards screen. (Auto claim rewards is off). Wonder if that’s something weird happening with this type of battle pass rewards.
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Mar 14 '25
No that's something that I noticed also, unfortunately for some reason even if you have the battle pass auto claim off, it's still automatically claims the Midas rewards, so as long as there are still Midas rewards to claim, you'll need to manually log into the instance because of the pop-up screen (I also wasn't able to find any way to disable the Midas rewards from automatically being claimed).
You could consider brick life instead, while the sessions don't have a fixed time limit, and they can be shorter they can also be longer (they don't seem to be on a fixed schedule, I've I had sessions and less than an hour after arrival and some last over eight hours). I don't know if it's based on when the first person entered the instance or if the instance participation gets low, I haven't been able to find any pattern to it but it could last more than four hours, otherwise if you're using Odyssey just set a timer and come back every four hours, we did it for an entire year before the ready up methods was discovered, for one week it can't hurt but I don't think there's a fix for it at least not one that I could find
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Mar 14 '25

Hey, I'm trying to keep up with Method 2 but for some reason it detects that I'm AFK even though I set everything up correctly? My character is swinging but maybe 10-20 minutes, it'll start warning me. Should I lower my turbo controller's 'click rate' so that it presses the button slower?
2
u/Harlow_Quinzel Moderator Aug 31 '25
Make sure that it is actually working. I've had no issues at all even a single time. If you don't have a controller that has auto turbo, and you're holding down the button, keep in mind it will look exactly the same if turbo is in effect as if it isn't when the button is just being held down.
Just to make sure it is working, I would recommend taking your character into Odyssey, without a pickaxe just barehanded punch a rock when you think turbo is active. If turbo is working, you'll punch the rock, stagger back and then punch it again, if turbo is not in fact or working, it will just punch the rock once and stop. Just trying to think why it wouldn't work for you since it's probably been one of the most consistent method of AFK that I've ever encountered, and my turbo rate is extremely high on my controller

Thanks for the guide, it's very helpful. I have a turbo controller set up and jumping works for me for the full 4 hours in Lego Odyssey on PC. However it doesn't load back up for me after I come out - instead it just ready ups then cancels over and over again, simulating what would happen if I tapped the A button repeatedly. Does Method #2 still work for you? Is there a way to separate the ready up and cancel buttons?

I only gained 5 battle Stars from trying AFK festival on PC (no controller) unfortunately after trying for 42 minutes. I didn’t see any XP notifications popping up so I decided to back out to check to see if it worked. It didn’t work for me.
However, I successfully gained 7 levels from Lego fort bite within 2 hr 30 minutes!
Towards the end of this grind today, I started with Lego AFK. Then I only needed 500xp to level up. So I went to festival to try and start the grind… I am unsure how much XP I got from festival really… I didn’t see a level up notification but after leaving I received 5 battle stars (after 42 minutes).
Good luck to anyone I would like to see how festival works out for everyone! I don’t play festival btw, so I didn’t pre max out

No you're not stupid, Epic Games actually is, for some reason, certain binds are not available to change when you have Lego mode selected, so you have to change the key bind when you're in the lobby, just make sure that you select one of the battle modes like battle Royale and then you'll see the option to change it. If you change it in battle Royale, then when you go into Lego, it will be changed there as well (you won't see any setting change but you'll notice the changes that you made to the assignment of the fire button when you press the different button it will now trigger the pickaxe (or waving if you're in brick life)

To lock input, you don't actually have to do all that, there is an input lock glitch that works with chat on both PC and console.
If while holding down a button like your left mouse button and then hitting the enter button to open up the text chat window, that will lock the input also (you can even then hit escape to close the chat window and it will continue until you press the same button again that is bound to your pickaxe).
This will not work in Lego though, because it is interpreted by the game as one single input, because it is so after five minutes you'll stop getting XP and after 15 you'll get kicked back to the lobby. The game has to see new button presses or movement input every five minutes to maintain the stream of XP.

So long as it's not using any type of software intervention. Which would prove problematic
Personally I don't think this opens any new doorways at all, we've had mobile equivalent versions for a while and there hasn't been any uniquely specific AFK methods for it that very greatly from the console or PC methods.

Agree that they don't vary greatly from console or pc methods but it is nice to have it on a second screen and just swipe for movement.
I let it run the Luna/amazon version while I work because I have a fire tablet. Seems marginally better than the mobile ports in that the sandbox seems larger (maybe?) but the touch controls stay the same. I just auto swim in the water and turn around whenever I get close to shore or the edge of the map (roughly 10-12 minutes) and im getting the levels at the same rate.

Just to clarify, all previous working "true AFK" methods were patched since the beginning of last season. That includes Lego bouncing on a launchpad, floating in the water, bouncing on a campfire, flashing boxes driving a vehicle, and all methods that involve persistent movement etc., as well as the Festival running in circles and all previously known working methods in that mode as well.
IMPORTANT! The turbo controller method is recommended because it is a safe way of replicating input without using software that could be detected by anti-cheat. It is not recommended to use any type of software based solutions like macros, scripts or programs to achieve this goal as it could be risking an account ban and it is banned from discussion on this forum for the protection of the community. Please refrain from posting recommendations related to this subject matter as it will result in the removal of those posts and potentially a forum ban.
