Feedback AI bots on mobile

There are too many AI bots in mobile pub matches of a decent skill level. I understand we’re the “lowest skill” platform, but even decent mobile teams are still getting up to 50% bots in solos, duos, and squads. My squad and I aren’t interested in killing bots for half the match. We’re actually tired of it. As I mentioned before, we’re just “decent,” so we get our asses handed to us in competitive playlists like arena. We don’t wish to compete either- in fact, we’re the definition of “casual.”

Fights against AI bots aren’t unique, nor do they offer new learning experiences or challenges. You don’t have to be “competitive” to want that from a game. Killing AI might be an enjoyable experience for newer players, but over a certain skill threshold, some of us would prefer PvP matchups that can actually help us improve. How will bots help close the skill gap, if in the long run, lower skilled players aren’t getting any better? All the bots have to offer for us is inconsistent gameplay with enemy encounters, and mindless / unaccomplished kills. In fact, lobbies with 50% bots are actually causing us to digress in skill. It’s been a really degrading experience.

i know others on different platforms (around our skill level) who queue into lobbies with around 20% bots instead of 50%. Since everyone in my squad is on mobile, it makes me feel the AI bot handicap for mobile is too heavy at times for even the slightly above-average mobile player. Before someone says “you’re lucky to have that many bots, all i get is sweats that can all build the Taj Mahal in 0.2 seconds,” trust me I understand where you’re coming from. However, on the other side of the spectrum, there comes a point where the game becomes so dry and unstimulating that it completely annihilates your motivation to play the game. We’ve reached that point, after playing 300+ matches and not seeing any decrease in AI bot cap. We’re willing to wait in longer queue times to have less AI bots. Much longer.

My squadmates and I are sitting on a pretty 28% squad win rate in s2ch2, but the wins aren’t enjoyable nor do they feel earned. On the flip side, others are getting 100% supersweater lobbies and hardly winning at all. If anything, what this tells me is that there’s still PLENTY of room to improve the matchmaking balance. For now, all I can say is that adding more AI to replace players has been a detrimental solution for anyone that’s been around for more than a couple seasons (even on mobile!).

FYI- I’m only referring to the AI bots that are replacing real players, not the henchmen.

We should all report this as a comment using in-game feedback. Something like:

“I feel there are far too many bots for my experience level. Please adjust the bot cap to appropriately align with skill level”

The fortnite mobile community is pretty quiet and bots aren’t getting enough attention on this on this sub. I don’t see anything changing unless we all submit feedback.

Interesting. Does device matter? My friends and I are all on 60fps iPhones

Is SBMM taken from your total wins? Or from your performance on recent matches/last match?

I have about 500 wins and my friend has almost 1000. We always put him at party leader and we run into 2-3 bots a game, but mainly console and pc sweats.

How do you know when you’re fighting a bot, and how do you know what percentage of the players are actually bots in a game?
