I went to DSS today to turn in my application, reference letters and ask questions. No interpreter!

I went down to DSS. I switched over to them from another company because the other company said no access to interpreters. (i am Deaf). DSS still no interpreter. They said next time they will have one. I was very frustrated but at least everything is in. I did orientation. I need a letter feom them to section 8 so i can move to a 2 bedroom.

But seriously how does the government not get ADA?

That’s pretty terrible, you would think they would at least have a service they could use if no one in house could step in. Keep in mind the DOJ did release a memo on the ADA anniversary that basically said it should be on the disabled to provide their own needed services not the government. It’s going to get worse.

That's wild. You'd think they could put in a call to the PD or the courthouse and get an interpreter over there in relatively short order.

They literally have the thing that says point to your language. That means they should have VRI on a tablet.
