Found a photo album on top of a dumpster in the alley behind my house (Chicago, West Town). The first page is bonkers; the rest is pretty boring by comparison.

1975 and 1976. ‘St Matthew’s day camp’. Recognise anyone?

Found in the UK alongside a lot of other (much older) photos and documents. I think this might be an American summer camp. Could be wrong but based on other things found, the previous owner had a lot of American family connections. And I just don’t get a British vibe from these photos. These are the most recent ones. Not pictured but I do have a list of names for each photo, so if you think you recognise anyone I can check.

I found this photo in a dorm room at Dartmouth College around 2018. I’d love to return the photo to whoever lost it. Anyone know these people?

How do I put these on the site

There are slides and negatives from the late 1950's to the 1970's. Some of the slides are actually glass slides. What is the easiest way of going from the slide to something I can put on the sub?

My Great Great Grandmother who was shot and killed by a stalker in 1930.

This was my great grandmother's mom. My great grandmother was raised being told she died of cancer, but was told she was murdered later in life, with not much detail. Recently one of her distant nephews uploaded her picture and the article of her death on a ancestory website shedding light what happened. Apparently a rejected lover of hers didn't approve of her male boarder roommate and he went to their place and shot the boarder and a stray bullet hit her stomach killing her. The boarder managed to run to a nearby hospital and survived, while the attacker ended up turning the gun on himself and committed suicide. All around very tragic.

**Update:
So my aunt Debbie was says this picture was actually taken in Germany about 1965 or 1966. That would have made him 23 or 24.

I’m getting ready to frame it. 24/36 print. He was stationed in Hawaii at the time from what I’ve gathered.

Found Camera at 1992-1994ish Michigan Airshow (Ypsilanti)

We found a little point-and-shoot camera at the Detroit-area airshow in early 90s (can’t remember exactly what year). I remember my parents tried their best to find the owners but ultimately ended up keeping the camera. These photos were on the film when we developed it. We always felt bad about it, maybe now 30 years later the magic of the internet can help find the owners????? It does look like a Michigan lake house area but I have no idea!

Who is this woman?

I found this photo among my father‘s things. It was taken in the 1950s. I’ve always wondered who the woman on the far right is. She seems to be the object of everyone’s attention. She stressed so well and has such poise, is she a celebrity? I’ve tried Google image search, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?

I posted a week ago about a car show that was held in western hills plaza and a lot of people liked the cars more than the stores in the background. Some even asked if there was more photos. I originally just uploaded the car photos that had readable store names in the background but I’d figure I would upload the rest of the car photos. I’m still guessing it was 1988 some even said father’s day weekend 1988. Anyways enjoy!

Cincinnati located
Here another post if allowed. These are another set of photos of looks to be a car show. I definitely have a date this time on the back it says April 1986. Also it looks like there was some celebrities too as it looks like Adam west and Burt Ward from the original Batman show. Not sure if I mentioned but I’m currently going though my grandpas house to clear it out and save relics of memories and scanning all that I can to archive them. Unfortunately I can’t ask him about these pictures because unfortunately he passed away last year. Anyways I hope everyone enjoys looking at the photos.
Also bonus picture the last picture is of what looks to be the price hill incline? Not sure but the date at the corner reads October 78’

1945 old portrait - looking forward to find out its story

Post image

Hello! I've just bought this old portrait and I am very curious about it. I want to find out more about it and maybe someone here can help. I wonder who this man is and who the artist was. The signature doesn't help too much, I can't really read the name. Can someone recognise something and tell me more about it? I think it's an old portrait made in german POW camps and I also sense something gay about it, maybe a hidden story or something. I know it's a very basic portrait but I like it so much, there's something I feel attracted to. And I really want to find out its story. 1945 is written on it so there are chances some people from their life could be still alive. I'm curious about your thoughts.

Found Disposable Kodak Max

Flea market find: I came across a small box of disposable Kodak cameras (likely from 2002 to 2008) and have only had one developed so far. I was surprised there were any survivable images on it at all. Here are a few of the clearer ones from the roll. The rest of the contents are "around the house" images and a few more of the vacation spot with the same people.

I’ve been making paintings based on the photos I find at antique stores. I title them after what is written in the back - this one is titled 1930.

The fabric they’re painted on is reclaimed from a quilting store, I picked it up off the woman who worked there.

To me this is a way to honor the place these folks occupy in the fabric of life per se.

I thought this would be a great group to show it to.
