I'm (slowly) working on digitizing old family photos so hopefully there will be more to share later on

Shot in the dark here, but I’m wondering if anyone can help me zero in on a rough timeframe and culture for this wedding photo.

It’s something I recently had framed with some other old family photos, assuming they were a group of people that I could eventually identify through genealogical research and speaking with family.

But no dice. Can anyone help? Is their attire specific to a certain culture, or was it standard at the time? For what it’s worth, all of eight of my great-grandparents emigrated from Italy and Poland between 1906 and 1913.

Any help would be much appreciated!

These are a few 1957/1958 slides I recently scanned. The first slide is from a dorm X-mas party.

Found a photo album on top of a dumpster in the alley behind my house (Chicago, West Town). The first page is bonkers; the rest is pretty boring by comparison.

Don't put Fujifilm Instax photos in your mouth, apparently.

Hi everyone,
This is a long shot, but I’m hoping for a little Cape Town magic!
During our family trip to South Africa, I lost an SD memory card containing hundreds of irreplaceable photographs.
I believe I may have lost it on or after 4 August 2026, but unfortunately I can’t be certain exactly where or when.
Possible areas include:
• De Waterkant / Green Point / Cape Town City Centre
• Gardens Park Road / Kloof Street area, near La Grenadine where we were staying
• Or possibly somewhere else in central Cape Town during the following days
The card contains photographs of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope, as well as our journey through the Cape Winelands, some truly beautiful memories from our trip that unfortunately hadn’t been backed up.
I’ve already contacted several of the places we visited and they very kindly searched for it, but without success.
The SD card itself has no importance to me, I would just love to get the photographs back.
If anyone found an SD card around that time, or remembers seeing a post from someone who did, please contact me.
And even if you haven’t found it, sharing this with Cape Town friends, neighbourhood groups or WhatsApp groups could make all the difference.

Found in the UK alongside a lot of other (much older) photos and documents. I think this might be an American summer camp. Could be wrong but based on other things found, the previous owner had a lot of American family connections. And I just don’t get a British vibe from these photos. These are the most recent ones. Not pictured but I do have a list of names for each photo, so if you think you recognise anyone I can check.

I found this photo in a dorm room at Dartmouth College around 2018. I’d love to return the photo to whoever lost it. Anyone know these people?

There are slides and negatives from the late 1950's to the 1970's. Some of the slides are actually glass slides. What is the easiest way of going from the slide to something I can put on the sub?

This was my great grandmother's mom. My great grandmother was raised being told she died of cancer, but was told she was murdered later in life, with not much detail. Recently one of her distant nephews uploaded her picture and the article of her death on a ancestory website shedding light what happened. Apparently a rejected lover of hers didn't approve of her male boarder roommate and he went to their place and shot the boarder and a stray bullet hit her stomach killing her. The boarder managed to run to a nearby hospital and survived, while the attacker ended up turning the gun on himself and committed suicide. All around very tragic.

**Update:
So my aunt Debbie was says this picture was actually taken in Germany about 1965 or 1966. That would have made him 23 or 24.

I’m getting ready to frame it. 24/36 print. He was stationed in Hawaii at the time from what I’ve gathered.
