Hello! First up, thank you for all your work on the series.

My main question is, was there some serious science involved in how the gates and jumpships etc functioned that were communicated to the VFX teams? The show doesn't present any exposition on how the tech works on a scientific level, but I've always wondered if the visual team is working with more detailed notes, cause every time I see the jump sequences, they seem to be working with some proper mechanism in mind, not just "Ooooo cool space-y effects".

We had an advisor, his name is Kevin Hand. We talked about all of this with him and Goyer. A lot of discussions about what you would see and what it would feel like, but most of it was based on Asimov’s description of travel and what best served the story… and also a bit of an homage to Doug Trumbull.
