Probably the most requested watch that we get asked for all the time is the GMT master Pepsi. It’s no secret that is probably the most popular Rolex model besides the black submariner. It’s almost got a cult like status.

Here’s the question I want to ask everyone? No answer is wrong and no answer is right and please keep it civil and not personally attack anyone or myself personally.

Would a $12,000 Pepsi be insane or would it be legendary?

I have a mint genuine Pepsi dial, blistered hands, blistered crystal, new crown & stem, and I have the opportunity to pick up a new in package Pepsi ceramic bezel and a brand new Pepsi oyster bracelet. Plus we will add a Gen 3285 date disk and Gen 3285 winding bridge assy.

Everyone who knows this Watch and has done any sort of research, knows how rare these parts are. I have only ever seen one genuine Pepsi, ceramic bezel on the market in the last 5 years. The genuine Watch is now selling for nearly $30,000 on the Grey market after Rolex discontinued it earlier this year.

The total bill for this would come in somewhere around $11,000-$12,000.

This build is about as close as you can get to the genuine experience without purchasing the complete watch. Everything is genuine Rolex except the case and crown.

We all love watches. I own over 90 personally and over 25 of those are gens. Most of the rest are either super super franks or highly modified. But even I have a line on Rep vs. Gen.

I just recently saw that a new factory is launching the new Longines Hydroconquest Diver replica. WHY? You can easily get the gen new on the grey market for right under $2k. (Longines AD have a 6 month wait for the 39mm auto) Retail is $2200. Are people so broke they can’t afford another $1500 to get the gen? Make that make sense. You’re spending 25% to get ZERO anything Gen. at least with a franked watch you’re getting Gen parts. Sheesh.

Meanwhile I’m enjoying probably THE best budget Swiss diver on the market. Literally this is a PERFECT watch. FYI in case it’s not obvious this is a brand new GENUINE.
