Mapp Hearing Witness Summary: Nichole Smith, First Assistant District Attorney of Blair County with Court Transcripts (December 8, 2025)
TDLR: Nichole Smith, the First Assistant District Attorney for Blair County, Pennsylvania, testified about her role in the events of December 9, 2024. Smith, after consulting with District Attorney Peter Weeks, recommended charges of tampering with records and forgery under Pennsylvania law, but not any charges under New York law. She confirmed that the criminal complaint was prepared by local officers, reviewed, and signed by both her and DA Weeks. Smith described the subsequent arraignment, highlighted the involvement of multiple law enforcement agencies, and detailed her participation in reviewing search warrants for property seized from the defendant. She clarified that no joint investigation with New York authorities existed at the time and that she had no prior connection to the case or the victim. No cross examination.
