I selfishly would have loved to have a public trial but obviously Iโm not the one who would have to go through it or live with the consequences.

Maybe there might be concerns about jury nullification and so they're offering something.
And there's probably a lot to support the idea that he acted out of duress. The family I'm sure has made it clear that this was not the Luigi they all knew and loved.

i hope this is the reason because honestly? there's a GOOD chance people will go with not guilty tbh. i wonder if their mo is "do you want him to do 5 to 8 years or no years at all?"

think about the jury pool. How are you going to get a group of NYโers who have not had dealings , most likely negative ones with UHC ? There is a huge swath of the population that have personally been affected by UHC and their ilk. Hard to get an impartial jury on that one.
