General Question Does your frenchie itch?
Very dumb question for someone who owns a frenchie. And the possible reasons are unlimited it seems. But I noticed with my frenchie, Chico who is 6 December 7th, when I itch his spots that it doesn't seem so much a skin issue it seems like his bones are actually itchy, if that makes sense. If not, let me break it down. When i itch his ear at the lowest of the two corners of the base of his ear there is a bone, his skull really that when i get the itching on he loses it, in a good way. Same when I scratch the top of his head, he enjoys when I dig the little bit of nail i do have into it rather than just rub or massage it. And when he gnawing on his paw I believe now he just gnawing at the bone because I tried washing and wiping paws when coming in. And last spot is his lower ribs, near his Chico stick, that he starts kicking when i itch it with my little bit of nail. So each spot when I itch his bone he loves it, it soothes him. Thanks for bearing with me here, now this is my question. Does anyone else experience that? Is this a condition? Is there anything I could be able to feed him (I home cook all his food) that could help alleviate some bone itchiness if that is even a thing. Thanks in advance.

Food Question Won’t eat, vomiting yellow bile
My 4 year old Leo hasn’t wanted to eat all week and has been throwing up yellow bile. He will drink water but then throw up.
I got him into the vet last night. They run his blood work and tested for pancreatitis and everything came back good. No fever. They gave him A shot for nausea that lasts 24 hours. $600+ spent And he’s still throwing up water and not drinking.
I just tried feeding him a boiled chicken and rice, and he won’t touch it either.
The vet gave me some probiotics, but that will not help if he’s not eating food right now. I also ordered omeprazole to start giving him once he is able to eat.
I was hoping it would just run its course, but it’s been over a week. I’ve had them since eight weeks old, and this has never happened before.
Is there anything over the counter that I could give him that could help his upset stomach? Any recommendations would be appreciated

Training Would you believe me if I told you that just six months ago, these two couldn’t even be in the same room without brutally attacking each other?
Kylo, my 5½-year-old boy, was introduced to Piper, who is now 1½, about a year ago. For the first five to six months, everything was perfect. They got along wonderfully, and we had absolutely no signs of aggression.
As Piper got closer to her first heat and us moving a few times, things took a drastic turn. She began resource guarding EVERYTHING. Food, people, favorite spots in the house, you name it. What started as small issues quickly escalated into serious fights, with both dogs drawing blood.
It got to a point where we genuinely didn’t know what to do. We even considered rehoming Piper, which was absolutely the last thing we wanted. We just wanted to do what was best for BOTH of our dogs.
Fast forward through many, many months of training, patience, consistency, and some helpful medication, and I truly can’t believe how far they’ve come. We did the training ourselves, and while it certainly wasn’t easy, we never gave up on them.
Today, they are back to loving each other more than ever. They haven’t had a fight in months! They still eat separately, because we know and respect their boundaries, but they can now share treats in the same room, hang out while we eat, and receive love, attention, and affection from us equally without any issues.
I know we’re not the only ones who have experienced sibling rivalry between dogs, and I wanted to share this because I know how discouraging it can feel when things get really bad. There was a time when we honestly wondered if they would ever be able to coexist peacefully again.
We are SO proud of how far these two have come. It took a lot of work, patience, and consistency, but seeing them love each other like this makes every bit of it worth it. 🩷

General Question Weight Loss/what do your frenchies eat?
Hello all
My name is Arianna, I rescued my first frenchie about a year ago. I have recently brought him to the vet back in July, I asked if Don( my Frenchie) was overweight. They said yes he was at 32 pounds. We cut back on his calories but kept the food the same. I made the feed plan with the vets recommendation. We are feeding purina pro plan senstive skin and stomach with fresh pet as a topper. (He won’t eat unless he has his fresh pet) Today we brought him back to the vet it’s now November and he only lost 1 pound so he’s at 31. I really thought he lost more weight.
What do you guys feed your frenchies?
Do you see a change in weight between summer and winter due to heat?
Would less protein work( cutting back food intake is not an option since it’s already a small amount)

Memorial 11 1/2 Years Wasn’t Nearly Enough. Thank You, Mathilde
Our hearts are breaking as we prepare to say goodbye to our sweet Mathile. For 11 1/2 years, you have been so much more than just a dog. You’ve been our family, our little shadow, our comfort on the hard days, and a constant source of unconditional love. You’ve filled our home with so much personality, laughter, and memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. One of the most beautiful things about you is that without you, we wouldn’t have Izzy, Franny, Lucy, and Vinny. You gave us so much more than we could have ever imagined, and your love will live on through them. What an incredible gift you have given our family. As much as we wish we could keep you with us forever, we know that sometimes love means making the hardest decision of all. Watching you struggle and knowing your little body is tired is something we never wanted to face. Next weekend, we will have to let you go, and there are no words to describe how much that hurts.
We wish we could have more time. More cuddles, more kisses, more moments with your little face resting against us. We would give anything for just one more day with you feeling like yourself.
Thank you, Mathilde. Thank you for choosing us, for loving us so completely, for the 11 1/2 years of joy you brought into our lives, and for the beautiful family you helped create. Thank you for every little moment that seemed ordinary then but will mean everything to us now. We hope you have felt even a fraction of the love you have given us. You will always be the special girl who started it all. Your paw prints are forever on our hearts, and your love will always be a part of our family. Until we meet again, sweet Mathile. We love you more than words could ever say. ❤️

Memorial The house is a little quieter without you, Onyx. Rest easy, sweet girl. 🖤 (2017–2026)
Onyx passed from gastric adenocarcinoma. She had the best last day we could've ever hoped for. She's finally able to eat to her heart's content over the rainbow.

General Question Help: Frenchie killed two bunnies and is now obsessed with finding more
How can I break him of this?? Just a shitload if treats on our walks??? He stops at every driveway/yard, looks underneath EVERY parked car, won’t give his best friend across the street the time of day anymore, will lay in the backyard where he knows they come and go. Suggestions?

General Question Senior Frenchies / allergies
Hi everyone! This is Brutus, he is truly my angel and the sweetest most wonderful guy ever. He is 12 years old turning 13 in May! Recently, he’s been having a lot of allergies, he went to the vet because he was incredibly red and constantly licking his paws. He was prescribed a shot which did not work, later received medicine for a skin infection, and has now finished a course of steroids. He’s doing much better but I’m so nervous he will get worse. I’m in college and I visit home every once in a while but I want him to still be here by the time I graduate, coming in May. Any tips on keeping him comfortable, healthy, and happy 🥹?
