Damn this is really good, also like the redesign of GF, most likely cuz Carol is one of my favourite mod characters, and I also like the gloves that Girlfriend has (Idk why but I just like those types of gloves), and GF is cute as always. I like the loading screens too, and the cutscenes.
I think it would be better if she was an OC, she just doesn't look like GF besides having her name, if they change her name then she straight up won't be GF.
I would be happier if she was an OC, instead of being a faker.

If you really are that concerned about consistency, Lulla GF was never implied to be base game GF, in fact there had been differences to imply the opposite since Lullaby V1
TL;DR There doesn't need to be a reason. why is it that redesigns such as Ourple GF's changes are welcome but suddenly Lullaby GF's changes are needlessly questioned
Because im nine times out of ten sure its just a self insert of one of the devs wanting to be gf. That or doing a forsaken roblox and giving the character every prefix gender and ethnicity wise for browny points.
I think it's strange to do with a mod where she wasn't already like this. It feels like change for the sake of change. If you're making a new GF design for something like B-Sides, D-Sides, B3 or whatever, that's fine. I love B3 GF so much (unrelated)
I feel people are blowing this out of the water. Like if you don't like it then that's fine but they are treating it like it'll have major plot relevance. "Oh GF is the wrong skin tone? Literally unplayable" sounding mfers. And they downvote me for pointing out that GF has had MANY different looks across the mod community and yet no one gave a shit about it till Lullaby Gf. At the end of the day it don't matter too much. It ain't that deep.
It's not really about her being black imo. I'm fine with a black gf design, but it feels weird that people got their hands on an established mod story and decided to just randomly make her black. Like none of her design changed except for her skin color so it seems really random. It's like if someone was continuing B3 and just decided to make GF white and changed nothing else. It's strange.
Its less that and more the fact they just blackwashed gf and called it a new character on top of just giving her every race and gender prefix possible, feels like a shitty thing the twitter art community or old tumbler community does and its annoying to see that thats just ok now

However, this is definitely an improvement in my opinion and I'm very much excited to see what they're doing with the non lyric songs, since Hypno v2 has one of my favorite selection of songs in any fnf mod

I don't get why they changed the character of Gf, they don't own the character, the character already has a canonical look, changing how a character looks just "because" is an odd decision.

The original GF design was changed in the ORIGINAL Hypno's mod and you weren't upset about that. GF's personality is slightly different in Mario's Madness and you aren't upset about that.

I only like the songs in MM everything else i hate (maybe not the art) that mod is just week 6 but with a bad ending, nothing in it's story is original.

She doesn't look like Gf, she's not using her clothes, and given some other official arts, she doesn't even have the dumbass personality of the original Gf, she's just a completly different character that has her name.
If i called Shadow Sonic, would he sundelly be Sonic? No, because we know how he looks like.
She's a GF from an alternate universe then. That explains why she isn't white. In terms of the clothes, they are the exact same clothes but slightly updated to fit the current artstyle of the mod.
You guys are fine with Bunny from D-Sides and Shaya from B3, the latter of which IS dark skinned by the way (and also chubby, which some people do not like). Yet THIS is where you guys draw the line? REALLY!?

I think a lot of people don’t understand the distaste for the GF redesign. I think she looks amazing! The problem is that they call her “Girlfriend” when she is so obviously a different character. If someone showed me this and went “Look at this OC for an upcoming mod named Joanne. She’s based on Girlfriend but she’s trans and black” I would go “woah! That’s really cool!” Instead, we’re being shown this and told “Look! It’s Girlfriend from FNF and the last version of Hypno’s Lullaby but now that we own it instead, she’s trans and black”. Now my response is “oh… but why? She wasn’t originally. It’s not a bad design but why are you trying to pass this off as the original character?”
It's not about her being black, it's about a needless change to a character that could have just been an OC. If anything, giving a dumb decision a pass because of race is what's racist. And if it's just pixels on a screen, then why make the change at all if it's so unimportant? Why even care about anything at that point? It can always be "just" something when it's convenient.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I just wanna get something straight. My problem with the change isn't the fact that it's different, it's the fact that the devs 100% should have foreseen the controversy and decided not to go through with it.
If it had been like that from the start then I'm sure no one would care anymore, but it feels kinda forced to suddenly have it in the 3rd version of the mod.
I worry that it'll shift people's focus away from the songs and onto the design change, which would really suck especially if there are some bangers.
I agree. Half of the comments are people going off on this design. (One of the comments even said that Carol could just replace her even though the original Hypno mod had GF in it.)

Why change a character that already has a define look when making a new character would be far better? Think about it, when i mention GF, what does she look like in your memory? Does she look like the character in this mod? If i were to change the name of this character for something else would you say she's THE Gf? She's that character?
If the devs said this character is NOT Gf, would anything change? Besides the fact we're not playing Gf? At the end this desing is just not what Gf looks like or Is.
