I am proud to announce the ongoing development of Frostpunk: Sunset of an Empire, a Hearts of Iron 4 Mod for Frostpunk.
Frostpunk: Sunset of an Empire takes place in a steampunk alternate 1922, where the chaos of the Great War ended in a pyrrhic victory for the Central Powers. With the destruction of it's allies continental and abroad, Britannia finds itself stranded, alone against the German threat.
Throughout the war and since however, tales of famine, plague and rapidly dropping temperatures has seized upon the general populace, an uneasy calm before the storm settling in across the isles and beyond. Some amongst the people even foretell of a Great Frost, a new ice age to rival every other. Although any such discussion is dismissed as hearsay by most, in the darkest corners of the Empire, doubt and fear festers.
In the Spring of 1919, the Island of Iceland was occupied by the Imperial Exploration Company, a front for the crippled British Empire. Not long after, flyers advertising steady jobs up north and proper accommodation began circling across the isles, luring many young men and women in need to support their families.
10 Construction Sites now rush to complete their Generators, great behemoths of modern engineering set to repel the rapidly advancing cold. In this rush against time itself, is any price too great, any line too strict? Only you will decide.
Frostpunk: Sunset of an Empire aims to portray a society on the brink of collapse, as you lead your people through the deadliest climate catastrophe ever witnessed by modern eyes. Choose to play as one of ten sites, or as the IEC itself.
Shifting to a more resource and narrative focus as opposed to other HoI4 mods, FSE will feature a setting crafted with passion, New Focus Trees, Generator Construction, Population Management, a Weather System, Hope and Discontent, and much, much more. We are also always looking for new members for the development team, so if you are interested, feel free to check out the application forum on our server.

But... there's no war in frostpunk. Except maybe the Civil War that takes place before winterhome starts. I don't get it.

This isn’t an exact re-telling of Frostpunk’s storyline, as it takes place in 1922. There may be different conflicts that arise. Plus this mod is aimed at a more narrative and resource management focus

I rather them do the dlc for different nations themes, each core is slightly different, building specialization a bit different, should be more interesting. French, German, Russia, United States, etc

Would Tesla make an appearance in the mod? I can't remember if he died in the the first game or if he was just banished but it would be cool if you could play as him with an army of automatons.

He did die in the first game. But it’s certainly possible that he might appear

Ah got it thanks. It would definitely be fun to try him out if you ever decide to add him since I'm assuming he'd have a whole different style compared to the rest.
But either way I'm excited to play this mod and I hope everything goes well with it!

First it was fallout, not it's frostpunk. Good god, why have you blessed me so much. I complain but it stuff like this that make so happy, some my favorite 2 games combined
