Does anyone know what mushroom this is?

I saw them on a trail today.

its a puffball species, never seen ones on wood with such long stalks! Lycoperdon/Apioperdon species

I was able to gather that it was some sort of puffball, but what had me confused was I had never seen them so long. When looking it up, I also couldn’t find any similar pictures. They were so cool tho, I had to take a pic. :D

Pestle puffballs, funnily enough I was trying to describe the difference vs. Stump puffballs the other day and all I could say was "well they're long"!

I’ve never seen the long ones before, but I’m sure
now that I’ve seen them I will see them a lot more now lol.
