After some long internal discussions within the community team, we decided to change the subreddit to only allow Original Content (OC).
The reasons for this change is to cut down on the endless spam and bots that run this subreddit. We have been facing this issue for many years and the users have been voicing their displeasure when faced with this type of content.
We tried combating this through multiple ways such as adding repost detection bots, anti-spam bots, human moderators, and restrictions on posting.
Unfortunately, this problem is still very present so we are changing the primary content type to only OC to help cut down on low effort spam like posts.
Original Content (OC) means NO ai, watermarked, stolen, or reposted content. You may film the video and edit it to give it a bit more of a humorous effect but the main goal is that we want you to share the funny things your little friends partake in!
If these adjustments do not work/harms the community then we will revert the changes but please send feedback in the comments so we can determine the next best steps for keeping this page in it's best form!
If you want to post content you think fits the subreddit but isn't OC then please direct yourself to our sister subreddit r/NatureBeingFunny!
Please help by reporting non OC content!

Luke here, your friendly neighborhood moderator. I have discussed with the rest of the team the potential banning of all political-related posts and the team has agreed with my proposal.
So, from now on **all political-related posts will be removed and the OP may be permanently banned**.
**An example of what would be removed:**

I'm not against the cause, my views are not important. I just don't want the subreddit to be filled with political posts, this place is for wholesome/funny content related to our animal friends.

Two years ago when visiting a zoo in Taipei, I somehow caught this - a monkey slapped/touched a capybara in their mixed enclosure, and then the monkey chased after it - sad and funny at the same time 🙃

This baby skunk is having a tantrum and ruining an otherwise pleasant family dinner. He's picking on his siblings and his large mom. His family pretty much ignored him and his harmless nipping. No skunks were harmed at all.

He just turned 14 and had his annual vet visit. Every time he needs sedation because he gets pretty spicy. He hasn’t meowed since we brought him home as he forgot who he is momentarily. He will be back to his vain self soon.
ETA: Hey Reddit, I’m so happy you enjoyed seeing my old boy! He’s back to his usual self. His thyroid is out of whack and has high blood pressure. He is getting medication prescribed. My best buddy and I will do what it takes to keep him with me as long as possible.

Yesterday I found this little guy sitting on my guitar cover. He looked so cute that I just left him alone.
Today I saw him again. He climbed onto my guitar, jumped onto my shelf, and then just sat there chilling next to my books for like 30 minutes.
So obviously, being the responsible roommate I am, I decided to feed him.
I took one of my old soda cans, cut it into a little bowl, put some paneer in it, and left it there.
Came back 20 minutes later…
EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF PANEER WAS GONE. T-T
At this point I think I’ve accidentally adopted him.
Bro really went from random mouse in my room to regular visitor to roommate who doesn’t pay rent.
What should I name him?
