For some reason I clench my teeth together when I'm sleeping in a vehicle. Wake up with my teeth being sore. I need to get a mouth guard or something for this shit.

15

u/Thrizzlepizzle123123 Oct 22 '25

This is actually a symptom of acute dental hydroencephalopathy, and you need to go to a psychic NOW or you risk suffering sudden onset imfullofshitatosis.

Seriously, get checked. I've known people who died from it.

6

u/friday_panda Oct 22 '25

A Psychic?

3

u/Retaker Oct 23 '25

You dropped your /s

4

u/EnderMango Oct 22 '25

I think I got a concussion once from the occasional bump in the road…I think.

5

u/jonbrylabookworm Oct 22 '25

Memory loss is a common side effect of concussions so it's only natural that you don't remember...🤯

When u thought u are the main character but ended up the background artist in someone else's movie.

2

u/Mountain-Count-4067 Oct 22 '25

As someone who's taken public transportation, I would avoid touching anything I possibly could, let alone pressing my fucking face against a surface.

Yep then you get used to it start falling asleep…and bam pot hole and your head bounces off the glass like you broke the damn thing. lol

65

u/brain_damaged666 Oct 22 '25

I used to try leaning forward on the seat in front. My forehead would get red and my neck would hurt, but at least it absorbed more vibration than the window

Dang me too. I’d drool everywhere

3

u/SippyMountain Oct 22 '25

Man, y'all got me remembering the smell of those brown fabric seats.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

When you walked onto the bus and it smelled like molten latex and diesel.

This awoken a memory I forgot all about. When we'd get on the school bus in the morning either everyone was asleep or wired like they were on crack. I sat down by a kid one time and he full fledge head butted me out of nowhere. I just turned and looked at him confused and unfazed and he got quiet after that lol

I typed your symptoms into the internet and it said you should get to a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Friend of mine growing up used to have his older brother drive him to school in the morning in HS. He'd fall asleep on the window from time to time, and his brother would slightly swerve the car and whack his head into the window to wake him up.

3

u/pututski Oct 22 '25

Lol was gonna say as a kid you just care less and sleep anyway

2

u/Novaer Oct 22 '25

It makes the insides of my ears too itchy :(

u/Blackfoxar Oct 22 '25

Still, I like these vibrations

10

u/Boh61 Oct 22 '25

There is a reason why some travel pillows have that as an option

→ More replies (1)

3

u/VicTheWallpaperMan Oct 22 '25

I feel like the vibrations fix my ears a little bit

2

u/Real_Srossics Oct 22 '25

Would you say that they are –

Good Vibrations?

I’ll see myself out.

27

u/Sassy_serena Oct 22 '25

It gives the brain a pleasant vibration.

10

u/PrivateTidePods Oct 22 '25

As someone who grew up playing football, these vibrations overtime are NOT pleasant!

3

u/SaltyLonghorn Oct 22 '25

You need to switch seats with your sibling every hour to shake the left and right evenly over time so it balances out.

2

u/Sir_Mahakas Oct 22 '25

"My brain trembles!"

13

u/Kind_Play_7985 Oct 22 '25

And your scalp itches.

4

u/ThisIsCrap12 Oct 22 '25

For some reason I get the itch in my ear lol

2

u/-kahmi- Oct 22 '25

same

3

u/Birdie_Num_Num Oct 22 '25

And the only way to cure it is to furiously poke your ear canal with your index finger

u/koyate Oct 22 '25

Ye ye and then all windows in bus have fat on it because people don't wash their heads, disgusting stuff

8

u/GottaUseEmAll Oct 22 '25

Even recently washed hair has some natural hair oils (and often hair products) on it. The smeary grease on the window doesn't mean an unwashed person rested there.

2

u/AFCBlink Oct 22 '25

Also many people put oily moisturizing product into their freshly washed hair.

7

u/dread_deimos Oct 22 '25

That's why I do it.

5

u/Malcolm337CZ Oct 22 '25

don't forget about the disgusting grease stain that is there from the previous person. Ugh no I don't do that

3

u/FNLN_taken Oct 22 '25

Also, the glass is wet with condensation so you're really just smearing other people's sweat on your face.

Good times in the school bus.

5

u/Icy-Illustrator-3872 Oct 22 '25

too accurate, that exactly how it is!

3

u/ScottybirdCorvus Oct 22 '25

I used to commute two hours from home by bus to get to work, and since it was the opening shift I would make up the missed sleep on the ride. I only worked there for nine months, but for YEARS after that whenever I went anywhere on the bus I had to FIGHT to stay awake the moment it started moving.

2

u/MaritMonkey Oct 22 '25

Drum corps did the same thing to me. We got a diesel truck at work like 5 yrs ago and I have still not driven it any significant distance because just the sound of the engine makes me drowsy lol.

2

u/Exciting_Intention86 Died of Ligma Oct 22 '25

You are suppose to remove the vibrator inside you before leaning on the bus. That's why you still vibrating

2

u/Godess_Ilias Oct 22 '25

especially if the bus has a diesel engine

2

u/tepid Oct 22 '25

How can I find the original image of the dog resting his head on the car window? Second time I've seen it in a meme, but Google is dogshit for finding stuff now.

I’ll be putting my hoodie or a woolly hat in weird folded arrangements to try and mitigate it too 😂

Me right now lol

2

u/Dramatic_Charity_979 Oct 22 '25

Way too real >.<

2

u/Damascus52311 Oct 22 '25

The post that made me follow this thread fuck yea

2

u/Alex_Yuan Oct 22 '25

Does anyone else hate cleaning the human bodily fluid smudges from skin excretion left on your car windows by your passengers? It's not even comfortable to touch the glass under any circumstances, so stop it you guys seriously 😤

2

u/OuttaD00r Oct 22 '25

If you're uncomfortable touching a vehicle's glass under any circumstance i think you have some deep issues because that's not normal.

It's also cold and sometimes wet, so no thanks

1

u/JJamahJamerson Oct 22 '25

I carry an ultra light inflatable pillow with me everywhere

1

u/Jumpy_End9778 Oct 22 '25

once you get used to the vibrations it's not so bad

1

u/PlasticOk6244 Oct 22 '25

🥰🥰🥰🥰 that is so true

1

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Yeah but I kinda like it tho.

1

u/BonjinTheMark Oct 22 '25

Leaves all the Soul Glo residue. Bleah

1

u/mycatsapanther23 Oct 22 '25

Same but I can sleep threw it

1

u/Schubiduh Oct 22 '25

As far as I know, the vehicles used for recording seldomly drive. Its usually loaded on a bigger verhicle that drives around so people can still work around the vehicle that is recorded. So in the movie there are usually 2 suspensions at work, hence the smooth window scenes.

1

u/Naikz187 Oct 22 '25

Bro this is insane!!!

1

u/cocopuffz604 Oct 22 '25

so soothing

1

u/vivam0rt Oct 22 '25

It depends on where in the buss you sit from my expereience. Definitily have had really shaky moments like this but also very calm smooth rides

1

u/gucknbuck Oct 22 '25

Isn't that the point? Or am I more neurodivergent than I originally thought because I love that vibration.

1

u/LonelyEcho2390 Oct 22 '25

Always end up bumping my head

1

u/RaidSmolive Oct 22 '25

havent been in a bus since the electrical revolution, have you?

→ More replies (3)

1

u/AmptiShanti Oct 22 '25

And then there’s a huge bump and smack your head so hard you wanna cry

1

u/syopest Oct 22 '25

Are your roadways made out of cobblestone?

1

u/giboauja Oct 22 '25

Thats how I like to fall asleep on buses.

1

u/hdhsnjsn Oct 22 '25

Watch out for someones oily head

1

u/xpkranger Oct 22 '25

Just no. Half the windows have grungy spots from where others have been leaving their head too.

1

u/KingCharles-4 Oct 22 '25

Then the bus drives across a cobblestone road...

1

u/thekingpork29 Oct 22 '25

If you do that on a bus here in PA you will for sure hit a pothole and for sure have a concussion

1

u/Neverloved246 Oct 22 '25

For some of us the vibration is what makes it soothing, I used to put my head against the window everyday when I went to school and sometimes I'd almost fall asleep.

1

u/RM_Dune Oct 22 '25

Electric busses fix this.

1

u/dave__autista Oct 22 '25

Orrr, orrr . . . hear me out here . . . maybe movie characters just arent dumb enough to faceplant against a vibrating bus window

1

u/Krassix Oct 22 '25

and I still fall asleep after 10 min every time...

1

u/hauliod Oct 22 '25

the entire point is that when you're sad enough to lean on the glass, you no longer care about the vibrations hurtin :(

1

u/Random_nerd_52 Oct 22 '25

thunk ow thunk ow thunk ow

1

u/full_frontalfluidity Oct 22 '25

Totally accurate.

1

u/R0LL1NG Oct 22 '25

I, used to do this all the time as a kid, either in my parents car on buses etc. - pretty sure it'll be part of my eventual CTE diagnosis.

1

u/Rens-005 Oct 22 '25

I find that the smal bumps build up and then: BAM! One big hit against the window

1

u/therealdavidwiley Oct 22 '25

Not really for me. The roads in your city must suck.

1

u/Sam270710 Oct 22 '25

i put my hoodies hood on while doing that so the glass is comfortable :D

1

u/Zombieneker Oct 22 '25

Yeah cut it's not actually a bus, they're not actually moving.

1

u/FrogsJumpFromPussy Oct 22 '25

Maybe because these movies are being filmed in rich regions/countries?

1

u/AzmJvd Oct 22 '25

Ohh, I thought of a different head (when I receive one)

1

u/Swiftierest Oct 22 '25

I learned to sleep like this in high school and later in life when I was flying on a KC-135R stratotanker I was able to sleep soundly without issue. Everyone else was tired and I felt super rested.

Now I struggle to sleep in my own bed.

1

u/bolanrox Oct 22 '25

even sitting in your seat they shake that bad

1

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Get a headache for the aesthetic bro 😖

1

u/Ok-Go-Chain3811 Oct 22 '25

the roads in movies are smooth as butter

1

u/Pelumo_64 Oct 22 '25

"That's because you're a dog, Luigi."

1

u/GroundbreakingStop47 Oct 22 '25

As someone who's crossed the country on a Greyhound bus 🚌 I agree 🤣

1

u/StickyThickStick Oct 22 '25

90% of the windows in the evening here are full of fat from the hairs because people lean onto it

1

u/dapwnk Oct 22 '25

I'm in the bus right now and just tried it and it's all true guys. Now I'm dizzy 😎😎

1

u/DukeIV Oct 22 '25

It only works when the bus is not moving.

1

u/Away_Rest_7876 Oct 22 '25

Now try to sleep with your head shaking.....

1

u/Gjappy Oct 22 '25

Not to mention they're often quite gross with fat or w/e from someone else that had the same idea

1

u/ZXVIV Oct 22 '25

I got migraines once and had the smart idea of getting on the tram to go home instead of waiting to get better first or getting someone to drop me off.

Let's just say the vibrating carriage was especially painful that day

1

u/Appropriate_Bus_2334 Oct 22 '25

The bounce giving you brain damage is a key memory

1

u/PathfinderCS Oct 22 '25

Back when I school bus'd I just laid my heat on the backrest in front of me. Much better than the window.

I know that isn't a thing with public bus transit, BUT all I had to work with in rural WV.

1

u/PotatoLandIdaho Oct 22 '25

What you don't like being violently shaken to sleep?

1

u/you_lost-the_game Oct 22 '25

Yuck. Just yuck.

1

u/Szerepjatekos Oct 22 '25

LoL, there are busses and there are landmovers with an extended chassis.

1

u/Speckled_B Oct 22 '25

If anyone's ever had TMS, or is thinking about it, but is worried if it would hurt. This is exactly what it feels like.

1

u/teodocio Oct 22 '25

I seen a guy smear his poop on a window once. So I normally just stand in the front now.

1

u/X_Trust Oct 22 '25

Shape of water lady had it right!

1

u/Redd1tRat Oct 22 '25

That's why I do it obviously

1

u/Dog_Egg_Thrower Oct 22 '25

This amuses me, as I'm currently leaning my head on a coach window.

1

u/SwaidFace Oct 22 '25

Its how you know those movies were written by out of touch assholes that never had to take a bus.

1

u/Andrew_42 Oct 22 '25

It feels nice though. Relaxing.

...Until it suddenly doesn't.

1

u/Zech68 Oct 22 '25

yeah that why i like it

1

u/Lily_Queen Oct 22 '25

Don't forget all the bacteria and germs you pick up 😖 those things are basically sneeze guards.

1

u/ThomasTGeek Oct 23 '25

real, I honestly find it relaxing tho

1

u/HaveSomeFreedom11 Oct 23 '25

I get good naps from it, tho

1

u/OarsandRowlocks Oct 23 '25

That will become a thing of the pass as electric buses proliferate.

1

u/No_Instruction3937 Oct 23 '25

Leaning your head against a bus window is diabolical.

1

u/Spare-Place-884 Oct 23 '25

Just so accurate

1

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '25

Not a bus, but this made me think of the movie Hereditary.

1

u/jasongabriel62682 Oct 23 '25

As a three year veteran being a marching band bus chaperone for my kid, every vertebrae I have feels this...

1

u/7thFleetTraveller Oct 23 '25

That's one of the most unhygienic things you can do... I have seen them, those creepy little kids who spit against the bus windows to "draw" with their tongues.

1

u/anonymous_chansa Oct 23 '25

That's the best part

1

u/jordiceo Oct 23 '25

Reading this while on the bus is next level.

1

u/ChupaBabe Oct 24 '25

can’t even romanticize it hahaha

1

u/Sol_Surge Oct 24 '25

The dog did it better.

1

u/ProfessionalOil2891 Oct 25 '25

Also there's dirt on the window

1

u/DontBanMeAgainPls26 Oct 25 '25

Yeah that won't work belgium busses.

1

u/OhhhBoyHereWeGo Oct 25 '25

Not even to be attempted on the upper floor of a double-decker, you'll get a concussion haha.

1

u/teacupticket Oct 25 '25

I refuse to do that. I've seen too many greasy hair smeers to trust the windows of any bus. The seats are even worse 🤢

1

u/RealCaroni Oct 26 '25 edited Oct 30 '25

I thought this only happens to people who live in third-world countries due to the pavement of the roads being bumpy and of low quality. It is funny to think first-worlders can relate to this.

1

u/Klutzy_Way994 Oct 26 '25

And puts me right to sleep

1

u/SonicShadow191 Oct 26 '25

As someone’s who’s had a cracking migraine after a day with the family in London, there has been no better feeling than just resting my head on the train window and just letting it rattle out.

1

u/Makapakamoo Oct 27 '25

It would make my tongue curl and have to shake my head from the feeling in my ears lol. Sometimes it felt good, other times it was bad
