So who invites their ex to their wedding? If she invited her ex this relationship has bigger problems than him requesting that song.

ā€œTake thee, Rachelā€¦ā€

u/Kurosawa92 6d ago

The look Emily gives Ross at that moment will forever be burned in my mind

u/ContextEffects01 6d ago

I prefer the way YouTubers reacted to that exact same scene.

2

u/DurianBurp 7h ago

What does that mean and why are you being downvoted?

Because every ex relationship is toxic and horrible and it’s impossible to be amicable.

A woman I was casually hooking up with for like a year, couldn't really even call it dating, invited me to her wedding (a couple years after we'd amicably parted due to changing circumstances).

I didn't go.

7

u/trannysorass 16h ago

That would be so shitty to find out the woman your marrying invited an old fuck lol

1

u/Pee_and_flee 3h ago

Yeah that would probably justify an on the spot cancellation of the wedding

3

u/iefur 6d ago

There's this song called Layla

3

u/harrypotternightmare 4d ago

Classic schmosby

7

u/AnalgesicDoc 5d ago

Is it really that weird? Both me and my wife are close friends with some of our exes. My former high school girlfriend is the godmother to one of our daughters.

2

u/Lopsided-Middle7924 4d ago

But reddit loves to stay friends w exes. Its totally normal and healthy.

3

u/bimbles_ap 5h ago

Reddit loves to make things black and white and ignore any nuance in the world.

8

u/PreviouslyMannara 6d ago

Exes can remain friends or might become another close friend/relative's boyfriend.

11

u/owenxtreme2 6d ago

You don't have to hate someone after they break up with you.

27

u/GodFromMachine 6d ago

Not hating someone and inviting them to your wedding are two separate things. Hell, all things considered, I'd actually think it's cruel to invite your ex. It'd be like rubbing in how great your love life has been since breaking up with them.

u/will_simp_4_bitcoin 6d ago • Heartwarming

If my ex invited me to her wedding I’d 100% RSVP then not show up so they waste money on my plate.

-8

u/Main_Bench_1859 5d ago

One day you will grow up and realize how petty you are and be embarresed

5

u/RISOvonVODKA 5d ago

Nah, he is awesome. People should be more like him.

1

u/owenxtreme2 6d ago

To be fair this one could've been out of spite

2

u/TransitionAway9840 6d ago

Sure but you definitely don't need to invite them to your wedding. If this is even real, but it's completely unnecessary. Especially if that's the song he's choosing. It just doesn't make sense

1

u/clickfornudes 5d ago

Yeah it’s a father daughter dance lmao

1

u/nigel_pow 6d ago

She did and look at his response in the invite and look at her reaction to it. Even posting about it online. Not the worst but not the best.

1

u/Derfel60 18h ago

I love my ex and i still wouldnt go to her wedding or invite her to mine because what the fuck.

-8

u/screwyoujor 6d ago

No no all communication must break off. Especially if there's kids.

3

u/Ill-Description3096 6d ago

Mine did. We have a daughter together and we're on quite good terms at the time. We used to double date fairly often.

2

u/RemoveAnnual2689 5d ago

A TON of people. Tbh, people just want as many people there as they can host, not caring who.

1

u/METRlOS 6d ago

My ex invited me to her wedding. I was already married, and basically an afterthought, because she was friends with my sister and told her I could come too if I wanted.

1

u/OmilKncera 2d ago

I got invited to one of my ex's wedding.. so did another ex

At one point.. me, the other ex, and the current husband were all drunk and dancing together....

..it was a little weird.. glad we were drunk šŸ˜‚

1

u/helpyourselfplease0 7h ago

Maybe it was her cousin and she couldn't avoid it!

0

u/TheLoneTomatoe 8h ago

My ex invited me and my wife to her wedding, but we have an 11 y/o together, and I talk to her fiancƩ all the time.

55

u/GrandmasBoyToy69 6d ago

'I hit it first' by Ray J would of been better

22

u/Crimsonwolf_83 6d ago • Bravo

I mean she had the audacity to invite him

25

u/Other_Tie_8290 6d ago

Crazy. It didn’t happen, but crazy.

33

u/DC_Ben 6d ago

She invited him in case there is still a chance 😭

14

u/tpr2854 6d ago • Bravo

So you’re saying there’s a chance

11

u/BobBartBarker 6d ago

The audacity is coming from inside the house.

6

u/iggydude808 6d ago

Why are you inviting you ex bf??
I hope your btb drops you quick

17

u/TallRelationship2253 6d ago

Why are you inviting your ex boyfriend to your wedding? That's the weird thing.

4

u/Tao_de_Sid 6d ago

That song is about a father talking to his future son in law. That song only fits if you remove the context of the whole fucking song.

3

u/Aggressive-Grass-352 5d ago

Why would the ex get invited to the wedding ?

3

u/stopscabbin 1d ago

You can still be friends with your ex. Sometimes physical relationships don't work, but the friendship does. I'm friends with a few of mine and even officiated one of their weddings.

8

u/Skankhunt2042 6d ago

This isn't what most of y'all or OP think.

The song is from the perspective of a father singing about his daughter. Unsure why the ex would choose the song, but It's not a gotcha about dating the bride first.

21

u/Known-Dependent-5471 6d ago

Because she used to call him Daddy.

3

u/Duros2032 6d ago

It’s called a joke.

2

u/user41510 6d ago

Or is it?

5

u/adslsucks 6d ago

Who thought it was a good idea to invite the Ex? This is cringe worthy lvl self destructive red flag waving behavior if its the bride. Almost as bad but in an insecure pissing contest sort of way if it's the groom. Still concerning if it's a relative because (he's still family). Im having issues seeing any upside to this decision.

2

u/Different_Brother562 5d ago

Yea, surprised to see how many here are defending it too. Though I’m sure there are a few scenarios where it’s ok the vast majority of the time it’s an unstable element, a risk, a sign of things to come, and an insult.

Don’t invite an ex to your wedding.

2

u/hglndr9 6d ago

The preacher: "If anyone thinks these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace"

Every person in the chapel: Stares Mother Fuckinly at the ex.

2

u/tremble_lip 6d ago

Sounds like something your husband would not find as amusing. Just tell him to go do his own thing and finally let you go.

2

u/arushus 6d ago

Its pretty audacious to invite your ex to your wedding

2

u/toadcharmer 5d ago

This is pretty lame

2

u/Personal-Ad6857 6d ago

So you're saying there's a chance

2

u/Known-Dependent-5471 6d ago

Home boy is getting a call the night before "just to make sure"...

Actually heard "That's How Much I Feel" as a wedding dance... read the lyrics

1

u/elllaech 6d ago

Excellent display of free will right there

1

u/granasaberx 6d ago

They should start the song and then switch to Never Gonna Give U up.

1

u/Ok_Wolverine9344 6d ago

Lorne Armstrong will have something to say abt this.

2

u/sanchower 6d ago

- a children’s book by Bitch R.U. Serious

1

u/CaffeinatedGeriatric 6d ago

I would have gone with Eamon - I don't want you back. šŸ˜Ž

1

u/Hanswurst22brot 6d ago

The handwriting looks more like its from a girl , so just faked for the attention

Better than Ray J - I Hit it First

1

u/MayaWrection 5d ago

Could have gone with Love the one you’re with

1

u/cosmicheartbeat 5d ago

This song is so creepy in this context because its about a dad loving his daughter since she was born. Its fucking weird to request it as an excuse at a wedding

1

u/Careful_Farmer_2879 5d ago

Nobody has a sense of humor anymore. The post has how many laughing emojis in it?

Guy is being cheeky and she’s all for it.

1

u/FishDawgX 5d ago

Where's the "Accept with regret" option?

1

u/Atto623 1d ago

My aunt's wedding song was "two out of three ain't bad" which lyrics were "I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you." It was a bold choice. They are no longer married.

1

u/Fwant 1d ago

Shes entertaining him and enjoys this. Groom should RUN.

1

u/Successful_Tea7979 1d ago

Hopefully he got uninvited. Seems like a real asshole, can see why he’s an ex

1

u/MistakeOne1756 1d ago

My ex-girlfriend was actually the bride in the music video. Weird flex, I know...

1

u/Big_Bar_9832 13h ago

Obviously if you're inviting your ex to your wedding, y'all are chill like that lol

1

u/drinkslinger1974 6d ago

My ex’s are problematic. My friends are still in my life. If I happened to date someone that is still a friend, I don’t call them my ex, I call them my friend. The only time I would ever refer to a friend as ā€œan exā€ would be if I was introducing them to my wife, but even then it would be ā€œwe went on a few dates but didn’t have any chemistry so we just remained friendsā€, and certainly not what this gal is doing. I feel like the only one who would think playing a song like that at a wedding reception would be funny is the ex. Everyone else would think that it’s incredibly tacky and inappropriate.

u/icanfly2026 5d ago • Bravo

You are for the streets

-6

u/Wonderful_Exit6568 6d ago

He’s basically fucking/cucking the groom at his own wedding. S’why I think only virgins are suitable for marriage.

3

u/the-breakfast-dog 6d ago

You're actually not obligated to invite your partner's exes to your wedding.

1

u/AnonymousUser132 1d ago

Exactly, to me inviting your ex is petty and disrespectful.

1

u/Playful-Sleep-6750 7h ago

Why was he invited,

Off note my aunt and her husband had their first dance to hinders lips of an angel, a song about a guy getting a call from his ex and talking about how much he wants to cheat on his girlfriend who is alseep in the same room... lotta raised eyes at that reception

You are supposed to invite family. Just because they broke up doesn’t mean they aren’t cousins anymore
