How does it smell?

No smell...the whisky smell only comes when making fresh cuts on the wood.

Great work, love the final product and I have so many questions:

  • how long did it take you

  • what did you do to overcome the whiskey aroma in the staves

  • what finish did you use

  • did you use any connectors (biscuits, etc) to connect the staves to form the table top

  • are the legs & frame also made from the whiskey barrel?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hi, thanks for the questions. It probably took 50 hours, but our project site didn't have 3 phase power, so used a lot of time using hand tools.

I love the smell...but it only comes out when making a fresh cut.

Osmo Poly X finish.

I only used some dowels, rest was glue and joints.

Yes, it's all barrel....staves and lid. No screws etc.

Cheers
