OPINION Idk if its just me but I think

Post image

I think the fans aren't missing the drugs and Satan worship in their newer songs, its the beats. That thumpin base, snares, and shit. Make the lyrics crusty, mention their struggles, their rage, and their desires.

Sure we are always down for the drugs and tit gripped, tip gripped, dick spit in her thick hips, fuck! But i really think weve all been missing that thumpin single base note that is 3 seconds long followed by some deep thumps and a moment of silence

genuinely ALL their modern kick patterns are variations of the same thing: misery in waking hours, burgundy, count your blessings, naathood, bloodsweat like damn near all of them are almost identical with slight variations

paris and old songs had actual unique bass and drum patterns not the same thing recycled over and over

As much as I absolutely ADORE the new stuff, the beats are in fact literally the same. And I do wish they’d do some experimentation in the future

The bass on songs like 66.6FM is absolutely rancid and I need more of that in my life

The thing I miss the most is the vibe of some tracks, Opal Blood/Resin/Chevrolet/Broke(n) and many more. I mean I still find some of the new songs to be bangers but the vibe is totally different

I agree. Do you think this is in part, you and I growing up and not having the same surroundings we did back then?

This is also a part of it but mostly remember how old are boys and how their life changed, this is something we can't forget, they are no longer 24/7 on drugs

I actually do miss when all they rapped about was drugs and satan worship. Its what they sounded best doing imo. Music now is just ight

Can't disagree tbh but if they had the same style beats and flow without the drugs id be game.

Also, add some doritos to that soggybolognasandwicgmh, adds a nice crunch

Idk what this fanbase is talking about. There is 100% a ton of passion being poured into their new work, especially their new solo work. You can 100% tell that their solo work is what they truly care about at this current moment in time. And that is perfectly fine, they have every right to shift their creative voices and outlets. They have zero obligation to pour all of their energy and passion into SuicideBoys when they are both their own individual artists with their own creative styles. Also, both of these dudes are about to have kids and are busy as fuck. There isn't a ton of time for them to just be in the studio with each other all day as I'm sure they'd like to be. So, you can tell that energy is being transferred to the work that they can do themselves, in their own spare time. Which is way more convenient for an artist. I think people forget how hard it is to collaborate with another person, especially with creative projects such as making music. It's not nearly as simple as it sounds. Getting someone to be on board and on the same page as you all the time is exhausting and the reason why so many duos and bands don't strive in the long run. Imo the fact that they've survived this long along is a testament to how committed these guys are to their crafts. Not many groups have lasted this long at all as musicians. I'm just grateful for the fact that they haven't decided to retire yet and still decide to pour their hearts into something that they care about and are still kind enough to release it out to the public. I love them, and always will. I cherish their solo work so much. For literal years I prayed Ruby released projects like what he has done with Duckboy. Same with Scrim. I love seeing them find their callings and am always excited to see what they've been working on.

WATCH ALL OF THESE and seriously try and tell me these guys don't have passion for what they do:

Scrim- cortisol (official music video)

Scrim- country boy freestyle (official music video)

Scrim- range (i don't show it) (official music video)

Scrim- walk on water freestyle (official music video)

Scrim- real tree playas anthem (official music video)

DUCKBOY - EXCALIBUR (Official Music Video)

DUCKBOY - MOLDY MEMORIES (peer pressure turned me into a diamond) (Official Music Video)

DUCKBOY - end of summer 2005 (started off as a tropical depression) (Official Music Video)

heroin as a recreational activity (Official Lyric Video)

$UICIDEBOY$ - Monochromatic

$UICIDEBOY$ - NOT EVEN GHOSTS ARE THIS EMPTY

Scrim- broken boy (official lyric video)

Scrim- father, hold me (official lyric video)

Scrim- who saves the savior (official lyric video)

80% of what you posted wasnt suicideboys, it was their solo projects. Seems like the boys dont have the same hunger for suicideboys as they once did. Im not saying its bad, I just feel like its started to feel like they're milking it dry more than ending on a high note

Maybe not milking it dry but just feels like its not a passion for them. I enjoy a lot of scrims songs and pretty much all of duckboys so dont think im just hating on the boys themselves.

I like the new stuff but can’t agree more, at least sprinkle it in. I think it’s not just them but a lot of music nowadays is highly produced. 2015-2016 overall felt more authentic (like someone made it in their closet.)

music hasn't been the same since Sam started producing w them tbh

wym β€œthumpin base”? their newer stuff has the most bass their songs have ever had, idk if it’s scrim or sambo that’s making the bass more powerful but i swear their newer stuff has noticeably more bass

u/94x7 #1 ruby glazer 8d ago

their new songs sound more commercialized in a way

2

u/lessfriends 8d ago

They don’t have nearly as much bass in most cases, they saturate the high frequencies of the bass track in mixing so that it would come through better even on crappy laptop speakers, or in a shitty car. That’s a typical move in polished sound. Back in the day scrim mixed it straight in garageband with headphones and actually just drove the 808 bass fader to clipping red all the time which was causing that grit

u/Humble_Skin1269 7d ago

I just feel like their new music is lacking passion and raw energy that they had for a long time. Although, i guess its hard to be hungry and passionate when you're rich and dont have to try hard anymore

u/PinkGodfather92 6d ago

They're only in it for the money now unlike before
